Moving to Australia: ANZAC DAY & Two-up

This week we were able to experience a very special holiday.
Namely Anzac day.
We arrived early at a ceremony and were able to experience some special traditions.
It is a holiday that starts on a sad note and then turns into a full celebration of life.
Australians have gambling and betting in their blood. This was also reflected in the game two-up, which is traditionally played during Anzac day.
In addition, we receive an assignment from the Netherlands every month.
This month's assignment was great fun and was carried out right in the center of Surfers Paradise.
The assignment had something to do with gaming, and a little bit with sports.
Do you already know? The battle between Jeffrey and I was definitely on!
Jeffrey ended the week with supple hips. He and his colleague went to a Latin party on a very large boat.
His Spanish (which he has recently started learning) was immediately put to the test.
Every Tuesday we can be seen from 1:00 AM with a new weekly vlog.

Deze week hebben we hier een heel bijzondere feestdag mee mogen maken.
Namelijk Anzac day.
We waren al vroeg bij een ceremonie en hebben een aantal bijzondere tradities mee mogen maken.
Het is een feestdag wat treurig begint en waar daarna het leven vol op word gevierd.
Australiërs hebben het gokken en weddenschappen leggen in hun bloed zitten. Ook dat viel terug te zien in het spel two-up wat traditioneel gespeeld word tijdens Anzac day.
Daarnaast krijgen we iedere maand een opdracht vanuit Nederland.
De opdracht van deze maand was mega leuk en werd uitgevoerd midden in het centrum van Surfers Paradise.
De opdracht had iets te maken met gamen, en een beetje met sporten.
Weet jij het al? De strijd tussen Jeffrey en mij was zeker aan!
Jeffrey heeft de week afgesloten met soepele heupjes. Zijn collega en hij zijn namelijk naar een Latin feest op een mega grote boot geweest.
Zo werd zijn Spaans (wat hij sinds kort aan het leren is) al meteen goed op de proef gesteld.
Elke dinsdag zijn wij vanaf 17:00 uur te zien met een nieuwe weekvlog.

Thank you for showing respect for our brave ANZACS! 👍 The reason a service is held at dawn here, and in Turkey and France, is that the ANZACS were landed at Gallipoli at dawn and we remember their sacrifices for the freedom of Europe! 🤗 A fun competition, you are truly living the Goldy life! 😂🍺

ANZAC Day commerates all those who have served in the military for Australia. The Dawn Service is not the only commerative ceremony on the day but it’s the time (06:00) the Australians and Kiwis landed on the beaches at Gallipoli. We also commerate those whoe servec in World War 2, the Korean war, the Malaya campaign, Vietnam, Iraq, Afganistan, as well as East Timor. We also commerate the service of the Aussie peacekeepers who have seen service in many parts of the world. Thanks for your video.
