I don't normally watch instructional videos for the pure joy of listening to the teacher but I keep watching your video over and over again just to hear the sound of your voice!
I've tried to learn this song on guitar for years. I'm getting a dulcimer today and hoping to have more success. Do you know which instrument(s) she uses for this song on Blue?
This was so beautiful I literally cried. My daughter just built a mountain dulcimer and gifted it to me as an early mother's day gift. I have been wanting to tackled to songs on "Blue" for a while. This is great!
I can't belive that there are a handful of 'dislikes' for this. Ridiculous! Thanks for posting this. i ordered a dulcimer last night on the strength of this.
Beautiful job! I just ordered a dulcimer yesterday, and this morning I thought..."Dare I hope that someone has posted how to play 'A Case of You' on the dulcimer?" Thank you! It is indeed one of THE most beautiful songs, and you play it so well.
oh yeah I have been waiting a long time to enjoy singing this song and just atarting my dulcimer lessons with Jessica Comeau! So I can understand what is going on here- another lovely artist- thank you Chris! Thank you so very much for sharing and also singing!!!!
What a pleasure to hear you Chris. I've been covering Joni tunes all my life and playing dulcimer for about 20 yrs. You do her great justice and you're very generous to share your knowledge. The dulcimer is such a soothing instrument and so versatile. I look forward to more videos. Thanks
This is precisely why I bought a dulcimer. Thank you so much for putting this tutorial up. Not only really clear and easy to follow, but you sing it beautifully. Simply gorgeous 🥰
One thing... what is that little movement with your finger as you walk back down in the intro section? It looks like a quick slide and pull to the fret below?
Playing that dulcimer part may be fairly easy a you say, but singing that song so we’ll surely isn’t! Beautiful voice and a really great version of that song. Thanks.
Hi Chris, Thanks for opening up my world to dulcimer. I'm a singer songwriter Iplay guitar and banjo, but wanted to explore the mountain dulcimer. I didn't even know you could tune the dulcimer in different tunings. Thanks a lot for this video, truly appreciated. Allie
Thank you, Chris, your dulcimer playing and voice are so beautiful and inspiring! Your amazing interpretation of the song is wonderful. We appreciate you very much. :)
My mouth dropped open...I said Wow! is that the lady singing? Sounds very good! ....okay after doing a search and listening I see now. You're a professional. I'm not surprised after hearing you sing.
Oh my your voice is just beautiful and fluid and full of emotion. Your dulcimer playing is a fantastic accompaniment to the rhythm’s and dynamics of your unique voice. I would love to sing harmonies with you. I, too, am a perennial j Mitchell admirer and when I was 13 I sang Tin Angel in my high school “Hootenanny “ series and my best friend Margaret and I smoked a bowl of Hashish my friend Milton brought back from the Canary Islands. Sister Margaret had just taken the vows of The Little Sisters of The Poor and she had an eqsquisite voice! Luckily we lived in a fairly progressive town of Washington D. C. as we often were barefooted when we sang in our “Revolutionary” Folk Masses and offered alternative hymn singing. We Sang lots of Sacred Harp style songs very popular even today in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. It is a very straight tone singing, one volume usually very expressive and Loud, no switching of dynamics from loud to soft. Anyway, since I discovered your wonderful postings I have taken all my instruments and placed them all over my bedroom - my guitars and dulcimer, my two autoharps, my mandolin , my ukulele(I’m a member of a Ukulele chorus ) my harmonica, and my banjo as well as my Lute! I am so happy and overjoyed I have discovered a new musician with such talent. Thank you! - Michael of St. Louis, Missouri USA
Thanks a lot! This was beautiful. As an absolute beginner who loves Joni Mitchell songs, this has helped me a lot, though I still need a lot of practice!

Can't wait for your next lessons. Thank you so much for your beautiful tutorial.
Chris, I'm getting an Appalachian Duclimer for my birthday and am hoping to learn some Joni stuff which is how I found your video. I'm glad I did and not just because you instruct beautifully but I was absolutely floored by your performance of the song. What a love letter you've composed not just to the person in your heart whome you are singing to but also to Joni. Your performance is the perfect example of a gifted performer deeply understanding and respecting the source material by not just staying true to it, but enhancing it with your own very soulful embellishments. I was really touched anew by a song I've known most of my life. Brilliant. -Tad
