thanks for the zoom in on the video... I changed my SSD and the tiny ribbon went lose on my left joystick and the LED wasn't working. This helped me figure it out lol
You should be prying it at the bottom as when you loosen the small screw the bottom of the case lifts up giving you enough gap to pry it with your pry tool. Asus designed it that way. Sheesh, a lot of tutorial that I see on RUclips don't know about this.😮
how's your calibration after this install? seen report on amazon link that says impossible to calibrate full range. my guess is it's a different resistance range made for a different device altogether. they also show shielding foil on the amazon page for installing these so they don't interfere with the triggers. seems like hodge podge
I would, doesn't have to be Hall Effect either. Plus theirs websites that sell official rog ally joysticks like en.accessoires-asus.com/ally-console/, which is official ASUS partner.
I have a similar problem. My left thumb stick only goes up and down now. Seemingly Hall Effect thumb sticks on the left are not the best idea due to interference.
Woo!! Thank you for the clear and easy to follow video🙏🏼 Swapped out both joysticks since they no longer worked. Now both are good as new 😄

There have been plenty of reports the hall affects dont work right because of the hall affect triggers then interfere with each other
It can be fixed with a software configuration of the dead zone, I haven't done it in mine, but I saw a video showing exactly that
@@jhonRamirez77I thought it was cuz of the magnets.. how would software configuration fix that?
Seems alot of owners on reddit say they regretted the mod and reverted.
Parabéns pelo canal, o vídeo foi perfeito! Consegui ver detalhes que outros tutoriais não mostram ❤
THANKS FOR THE VID BUD GREAT STUFF
If your analog isn't broken what's the point of this upgrade? I heard problems that this upgrade can cause on the Ally. Does this confirm ?
excellent tutorial i had no idea it was possible to do this
Glad you liked it :)
So where is the after performance test?
How do you get the cap off itself? They seem stuck on
Big thx from rog ally Gang. ❤
Does the Hall sensor joystick not move when you press the L-trigger?

Is it ok to apply hollow joysticks? I mean what about the triggers? Would they not be affected (interfere)?
Where i can get original or good copy of the joystick itself the thumb black grippy thing
Hope we get dualsense like joysticks in gen 2 rog ally. 🎉
Nah. Human thumbs are convex. NOT CONCAVE.
Can I replace the right joystick with the left joystick?
do you need to re-calib it again?
anw, cool, thanks for your tutorial.
this canf fix stick drift?
Do you need to solder?
Thanks for the video!
What happen if i forget to disconnect the battery and change the sticks?

it's actually interference from the magnets in the triggers
Anyone in San Diego area that can help me with this ?
i wonder if upgrading my ally joystick will fix the joystick problem many people are having... (Left joystick is working but not left and right)
