    I've found that, being right handed, a right handed single bevel axe is easier to use when your piece of wood is held vertically, and a left handed axe is easier to use when your piece of wood is laying horizontally.

    First of all you don't take the bark of with your axe. Good way to dull it.

      So what do you take the bark off with when you are in the forrest and just an axe and a knife with you? Lol

      Sorry, but you're wrong, that is precisely what a broad axe is for; taking bark off.
