The leaping/precision jumping in Crackdown was incredible on the Red Ring 360, slowly powering up with those orb upgrades. Wish this game was made available for PC eventually.
One I think I also liked about this game was the wide selection of agents you could play as and how they all changed apperence depending on your agility and strength. Like how the asian agent started out as some young generic looking black haired asian guy and by the time you maxed his skills out he became all white haired and bearded. And that one of the agents was some kind of bald goth emo wearing eyeliner and makeup which always made me laugh
Everyone would be playing this at my gamestore for atleast a year. The staff got everyone hooked by setting up the 360s to play co op side by side, it was so much fun.
If you get your driving skill to max, you can use the agency SUV's ability to stick to walls to get to the top of the final boss' tower. (It's pretty difficult to get the timing down on the SUV's stick ability, but it's doable)
The fact that you can do that is just incredible. It was a true sandbox game, just letting you lose and saying "do whatever". Obviously the most encouraged thing for a first playthrough is to take down the Los Muertes, Volk and then the Shai Gen, taking down the lieutenants before going up against the boss. But really, you can do it however you want, some ways are definitely more difficult, but never impossible.
The menu music was so good. DJ Krush - Paradise Bird Theory is phenomenal. I have fond memories of just running around and trying to get all the agility orbs.
Went Xbox for the 7th gen and never looked back. The digital versions of Crackdown 1&2 are free, along with all their DLC as well. Too Human is free as well, if you want to know what torture feels like.
@@LoneWolfXP Yeah, it is. 2 improves on everything 1 did. The only real downside with it is instead of multiple gangs, you fight one gang and zombies, but its still fun and a good sequel to 1. Id say its the same as 1, with a friend its super fun, but if you like crackdown solo, then youll like CD2 solo
7:26 what happened there is you took out his final armor plate (the red bars above the healthbar). That is why he didn't die but you pretty much demolished his last armor plate.

This game would do well with a modern remake. I know 2 and 3 didn't do that well, but, I feel 1 is very strong by itself and a remake that really shows off modern engine capability would be cool.
Hells yeah. So many Xbox exclusives didn't stay that way long enough for people to even realize it but its so cool looking back at the old days of "xbox games".
I always loved the exploitability of open world games, and with crackdown, the exploitability is maximized, and with the jumping around to get around the city, it’s implemented perfectly into the game. Underrated game
Little Big Planet, Metal Gear 4, The Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Infamous, Resistance, Killzone, Journey, Puppeteer, Mod Nation Racers, both of these consoles are great but when it comes to exclusives it’s not very close
I like both platforms equally tbh. I really love Gears of War (Gears of War 3 is in my top 5 games) and Halo is always a good time. For PlayStation, Little Big Planet 2 is my favorite game of all time. At the end of the day, it's a piece of plastic that plays games 😂
Just started playing this now. I'm on a nostalgic kick. I've got like 30 ish 360 games I haven't touched. I only just finished the Halo games, got Hitman to get through to. Crackdown is fun so far.
I just re-bought this game. I'd love it if you did like a '10 things I wish I knew in the beginning " video to give the rest of us a leg up. Great vid! 👍
The only tips I can really suggest is focus on getting your skills leveled up as early as possible. Save the big city for last, that's the hardest one. Driving skill isn't that important as you'll probably be on foot, jumping around most of the time. Pick up and try every weapon and see what you like best. And that's pretty much it, other than that it's pretty straight forward.
lmao this video is SO FUNNY I wasn't expecting that. I was looking for a video talking about how good crackdown was back in the day, and your video started out like that and then you started playing and memeing on the game XD

This whole video is speaking my language lmao. The pfp speaks for itself. Crackdown is instilled in my brain forever, every sound in this game brings me back to being a kid with no worries.
@@LoneWolfXP yeah I'd say it's not as good as the first one but it's still super fun there's rocket boots and a wingsuit, the zombies are weird choice but it's done decently well.
What i wouldn't give for a remake of this game. 1 did almost everything right, the agents and agency vehicles that you could actually see get more powerful with every level, the weapons with working scopes and funny names, the 3 gangs with unique bosses and hideouts and they would actually fight each other on and near the bridges that connected their turf, all the fun mini games and the hidden or hard to reach agility orbs, the friggen peacekeeper TANK this game really had it all. The only thing I think it was missing was the helicopters they added in 2, and maybe a more in depth gang warfare system. My crack pipe dream is to one day have a modern reboot of this game that takes all of the original vehicles guns gear and gameplay elements from 1 and combines it with the helicopters and the story from 2. Like in the first half of the game you're basically playing crackdown 1 with more polish and dynamic gang wars where they assault each others hideouts and supply points and can maybe even take some over. Then when you kill them all the agency does the whole villan monologue and kill you off or wipe your memory and you wake up in a regeneration tank to go fight the cell, and you can peice together the bigger picture of the agency's plans with Catalinas audio logs. Though maybe instead of just completing the whole project Sunburst thing the cell could have commanders like the gangs have their bosses, with Catalina at the top. Maybe they wouldn't be as organized as the super gangs like shai gen and you could see infighting amongst the lower commanders maybe even do stuff to instigate it yourself. An example could be like a captain in control of the shipping yard transferring weapons to another commander in charge of soldiers on the ground, if you destroy the shipping containers it'll make the commander angry enough to send some soldiers down to take weapons off the captains crew by force and make it easier for you to kill either one of them (commanders less protected, captains dealing with the infighting) another example could be a factory manager in charge of supplying the cell with fuel taking over what used to be the volks oil processing plant and staying up in his well guarded office that you would have to infiltrate, transferring that fuel to a commander in charge of maintaining the cells heavy vehicles like stolen tanks, fuel and cargo transport trucks and even helicopters with makeshift armor plating and extra guns welded to them, if you sabotage the oil valves like you could in the first game to make sergei sovetnik come out of hiding from his office instead the manager flees from the factory in a personal vehicle, maybe taking a small escort with him and you have to take them out before he escapes. If you fail he goes into hiding for a bit so you won't be able to take him out and the vehicle commander will send out extra patrols of helicopters to harass you but will take most of the tanks off of the street and put them at the factory to make sure it doesn't happen again, leaving their own hideout more vulnerable in the process. If you take out the factory leader the vehicle commander will have to ground most helicopters in order to save fuel for the tanks and will position most of them in and around their own hideout, so either way you're getting an awesome tank battle. Or maybe a former shai gen scientist turned cell starts working with a lower level gang boss like leader in charge of recruitment to try and keep the freak problem at bay, the gang boss sends out dudes in special made armored cars to catch the freaks and send them to the scientist leaders hideout, but if you find and destroy enough of these the scientist cuts his funding for the gang leaders cars and other gear so they aren't as protected out on the streets or in their hideouts which runs down recruitment and the scientist doesn't get any freaks to experiment on and possibly use against you. And the freaks themselves should be a much bigger problem with them being able to completely take over places underground in the daytime then coming out at sundown to infest areas like supply points and hideouts above ground whether they're in your control already or belong to the cell, retreating into the shadows of large buildings and alleyways when the sun comes up but still there and still dangerous. They should also be able to attack the Sunburst transmitters at night to impede your progress if you leave theme alone for too long, and the cell should be able to mount full scale assaults on them in the daytime as well as any supply points or hideouts you've taken from them, and at night they send in their special forces while the rest are busy with the freaks. Maybe with the help of some shai gen technology they're able to make super agents of their own that have all the weapons gadgets and abilities you do. Able to cloak and snipe you from afar, hit you with homing missiles and rockets while you're chilling in your car, or pull you out the car and just straight up beat your ass. The possibilities are endless and with the next gen tech that we have right now I know it is completely possible, its a shame how underappreciated this game series was and how no one ever really improved upon the first.
