I don’t think the lot of you in the comment section understand just the sheer amount of testing that occurs before human trials. This includes in humanised mice. Animal models are a stop gap giving vital data. Without human trials, we can never know how it works in humans specifically, despite humanised models, and its intricacies. When it comes to MND, I’m sure people with it would love to take part in the trials as it could genuinely push back how quickly they lose control of their muscles and all the other issues that the disease brings. If this has regenerative function, even better. They’re not asking specifically you to take part. Just those willing to take part.
I wouldn't worry about the fruitcakes on here as they always say the same things over and over. Most of them seem to spend plenty of time in their conspiracy burrows. I'm sure that there will be people suffering from all sorts of horrible conditions that would grab the opportunity to have a better quality of life with both hands.
The letter I received from Mass General Hospital states since people paticipation in Australia exeeded exectaion they cancelled the 2nd phase trial they were planing to conduct in the US.
People should remember that more often than not the Australian government relies a lot on the American FDA before treatment can be approved in Australia first and the same with pharmaceuticals. I have done a trial at QUT in Australia for stem cell immunodeficiency disease.
It cannot be disputed that more experimenting (trials) on humans will lead to breakthroughs in medicine. It also cannot be disputed that many more people will suffer from the trials.
This is concerning are we to be guinea pigs and then they take it back to America and charge us through the nose for the medication? What compensation will the participants get if things go wrong?
@@CatsandJP Sorry if this comes up double comment to you as it isnt showing my original comment. I dont know why. Anyhow does it still allow you to be compensated if things go wrong? As that $5000 isnt much if it goes pair shaped.
It passed the safety part in the Phase 1 trial. Is it effective? We will find out when phase 2 is completed, and the government says it is ready to start phase 3 trials.

Spinoginex is not publicly traded. A similar company is COYA. It is publicly traded and is further along in their trials for Alzheimer's and ALS. COYA is headquartered in Texas and their trials are currently in the United States. They finished their Dementia Phase 2 results and are going to release the data late October.

Welcome to Australia, MND sufferers have nothing to loose only an opportunity for the possibility of success and possible cure 👏👏👏

I lost my best friend last month to MND .
Good to see research is progressing well with hopefully eventually finding a cure .❤
I get the feeling she is saying that the Australian medical community, is more effective at moving forward faster, whilst caring for their patients.
She's trying to say that but she really means is that it's easier to experiment on aussies
