After a year of chasing those business class seats, I can finally say the $$ value doesn’t really matter, what matters is I get to fly to my destination safely and happy. Whenever I book awards flight, I don’t look at their prices rather what’s available for me to take, not much focusing on their price value. It’s nice to fly first and business class but I find it exhausting to keep up with the miles and points game.
We don't have to use cards the way lenders intend. P2 and I are at the LAX Centurion lounge now. Each week we both go to at least 2 Centurion lounges...IAH and PHX in a few days. @120 lounge visits/year @ $10 per visit = $1,200, more than paying for the $890 AF. Plus, showers are $25 at The Club SFO and other The Clubs. That's important to me. I shower during connections. None of the other "benefits" are really important to me.
That’s good to know, have you ever had any issues with getting inside of the Centurion lounge like some people talk about? I have the Venture X and gold but really debating the platinum for lounge access and some other perks but if Centurion lounges are always packed then it might defeat the purpose.
Absolutely love this video Chase!! Seems like you've been able to get a ton of value out of your Cards- and I especially applaud the value you've gotten out of your travel redemptions (40 cents/point is just wild 😂)
The flight redemption are a lot of work but worth it. Trying to find an ANA J flight for a trip coming up. But I got a F flight this year from HND to ORD.
They gave me and my guest $25 each per day. (i dont remember the exact dollar amount) So depending on what you spend it on, it could or couldn't cover the entire cost of the breakfast.
Do you see a benefit of holding Venture X with Amex Platinum? I like the $300 travel credit and 10k anniversary points Venture X gives you but I like some of the benefits of Plat just don’t know if it’s overkill or if it would be good and adding Chase Sapphire down the line. Let me know what you think!
If someone were NEVER going to get the Amex plat, would you recommend taking an upgrade offer $2000 spend for 50K MR points?? With the plan being to downgrade (back to preferred amex green) later??
Honestly no. At that point I would just get the regular 100k+ SUB on the amex platinum and downgrade it after a year. In both scenarios you would only have the card for one year, but with applying directly you get at least 2x as many points. The minimum spend requirement will be higher so you have to take that into consideration too.

Explain to me how you got complimentary breakfast at Waldorf LV as a HH diamond?

Great video! You still trying to hit Titanium status with Marriott before end of the year?
Nooo. 😢 I severely underestimated the amount of travel this year.
