Lived there from 1964-1996. Used to be a great place. In the video I saw woolworth's , maplewood park , & of course the Upper falls. I guess I arrived to late to enjoy it's heyday but got out in before it's demise. Sad.

By 1996 demise had already set in. Some things are better now 25 years later, actually (not everything though).

The rise and fall of industrial capitalism. People were foolish enough to think it would last forever. Shoulda stayed on the farm, where there is enough to eat no matter what.

Liberal policies is what happened, jobs went south for lower taxes, it’s the root of everything

@@will_dir ---> I beg to disagree. I ived and worked in FL for several years. Southern states: Nice to visit but with racist legacy still there. Very poor public libraries, no sense of continuity, humid summers, cadillac-sized insects, hurricanes, sinkholes in Daytona area - where I lived...No thanks. I rather pay my taxes in NYS than be miserable in the south. With sea levels rising the jobs we lost will return to Rochester...the day will come, Mr. DiRisio...Sooner that we might think...There is nothing wrong with liberalism...checks and balances.

@@nicaragusa the only thing wrong is that liberalism, as shown with the last corrupt Mayor, put the last nail into Rochesters coffin. 82 Homicides, poverty and crime at all time high, yea, it’s working just fine. I got the hell outta there. Thank God.
