Welcome back to class everyone today we are talking about The Fishy anime a lot of you forgot about. Seto no Hanayome was a fun anime that always had me cracking up back in the day. Something I miss about old manga and anime is full on chaos. We don't see it much anymore. I hope you all enjoyed the video. IMPORTANT I need to mention this at the time of writing this we have surpassed 150 subs and 2 videos with over 1k views. this means a lot to me that you guys would stay with me this long. This is the last Planned lesson of the year and I hope to keep making good content for you in the upcoming year but that will take time to prepare. If all goes well I will be back in January for our next lesson. Make sure not to miss it by Subscribing as always a huge thanks to all the students who keeping coming back for more lessons. Also huge thanks to any new students who may have enrolled on this video. let me know down in the hate lab below if there are any series that you want me to check out in the future.
I will see you all in the next period. As always I am Professor Plague Class Dismissed
Oh Man, to see someone actually talking about this gem in current times... I'd also like to point out that Mission: Yozakura Family has a similar premise.
Man, what do I even say about Seto no Hanayome? The anime will always hold a special place in my heart among many other mid 2000’s anime, and yet at the same time, I can’t help but feel a sense of dissatisfaction. I remember reading the manga a while ago just to see how the story ends, and… well, I won’t spoil it, but it certainly left me wanting something more than what was given. Heck, even looking back on the anime itself, I feel as though it could’ve had more in terms character development- but alas, it chose to lean into its comedic elements (elements that are very hit and miss much of the time in my opinion). Still, I certainly can’t bring myself to forget about it.
For me, My Bride is a Mermaid is one of my favorite rom com anime of 2007. Along with Mecha-Ude is one of my favorite mecha anime of 2024, such as between Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Bang Brave Bang Bravern.
Honestly, I miss when anime was this fun to watch. Especially considering this is 26 episodes long, rather than the overused 12 episode count. Also, as someone whose working in horticulture all his life, I cannot enjoy Farming Life in another world. You will never get perfect crop yields, no matter how well you take care of it! There will always be pests attacking your crop, and you will always get some duds. And making a main character have everything go right for him, is un-relatable and stupid!
I also miss the 26 episodes format. also I can understand how you feel about farming. I just have special place in heart for stuff like Harvest Moon, Rune Factory
@@Dr.Plague Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Most seasonal anime almost never get 24-26 episodes, let alone a season 2! The only recent ones I can think of that get that many episodes are Frieren, the Apothecary Diaries, Demon Slayer, and Spy x Family. Everything else is only 1 season a 12 episodes with no season 2.
Yeah mostly only Shōnen based shows seem to be getting the S2 treatment. Which I believe the main reason for this is they are adapting too many LNs and those take a long time to make even here in Japan. Looking at certain production elements. We will get 1 maybe 2 LNs in a given year and most adaptions will adapt 3 vols per season. Where on the manga side we can get about 50 chapters a year from a weekly series. So they can adapt way more much faster as there is a bigger backlog. So I think the main issue just boils down to the adaptions being made too early in the series life and then by the time when more content comes out. The Fans of the series normally get shafted as the companies have moved on. But that just my Theory.
@@Dr.Plague You're definitely right on the "adapting 3 volumes of a light Novel" bit. Smartphone Isekai did this, and it was generic and boring. Then you've got Drugstore in Another World which, according to MAL reviews, didn't even adapt the first 5 volumes, and instead skipped ahead. Thus giving us a product with rushed pacing as a result. And yet for some BS reason "fans" keep calling these shows good, when they're objectively trash! Like, who the hell asked for an anime adaptation about a guy becoming a vending Machine? WHO?! I sure as hell didn't! As for your opening statement, this is why I tend to watch shonen anime like Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, and MHA. Cause those not only get more than 1 season and 12 episodes, but actual world building, character development and character focus episodes. Where as Isekai power fantasies for example, are all about some random male student, travelling to another world, becoming a god, and having all women simp over him for no reason!
