Anchorage is my favorite ship so far in 2020. It's the first dockyard I have ever completed and thanks to the birthday event, I had enough dubloons to get it for free.

Your cinematic and color grading are up to point, your choice of soundtrack on point.
Seamless merges and that stern section shot as well as smoke cinematic @2:28 was perfect.

Video is great, but have to disagree about color grading.
It looks really good on monitors with okay blacks (for example on my phone), but on both of my IPS panels it looks sub-par. To be honest both of those screens are kinda cheap, but the point still stands. The blacks are too close to each other and often lack details.
I can see where 3 Smidge was going and the vid and it probably looked really good on a good screen. I'm guessing he used the full 0-255 range of colors. However none of my screens were able to correctly display the difference between 0-4, which is probably why the vid lacked details in darker regions. In fact one of my monitors couldn't show the difference 0-13 on my usual settings (blacks set to low - I'm guessing the monitor artificially bumps up the blacks when "high", so overall blacks are less black, but you can distinguish them better).
To make sure it's not just my bad color perception, I was (barely) able to distinguish 1 level difference when looking at brighter blacks/grays.
EDIT: I've focused on the negatives, but forgot to mention that the vid was really great! Loved the song (depression, in disco form!) and loved the shots! But I'd really appreciate an alternate lower color range version in the description, it made it hard to appreciate the vid.
tl;dr: looks bad on panels with bad blacks. also i need a better monitor
@@wojtek4p4 thanks for the feedback. It looked good on all my monitors, which vary from great to "clearance section" grade. I'll try and do better next time:)

I love you stuff 3 Smidge, it's fantastic! I found you through Denarmo, and I am so glad that I did. I went back and watched some of your older videos and I have to say I LOVE the Real Steel videos you made. I know from experience that those must have been a pain to edit. I have like basically no subscribers, but would you be interested in doing a colab on a Real Steel vid, perhaps the Kriegsmarine?? I would totally be down to just help film one. Keep up the great work my dude!
