That was great. I just received your Joy pallet… the colours are amazing. In fact it’s my first pallet as I’m brand new. I love using it. Erika from Australia 🇦🇺
Hi 👋 hope all is well. I wanted to say I absolutely love your style of teaching , it’s like hanging out with my art bestie ❤️it just flows easier to learn from you . thank you for all you do. 🙏🏽 dez
I like when the pencil sketching lines show! When I was a kid it was the first thing in watercolor that really caught my attention and found intriguing. This reminds me of naturalist botanist diagrams from long ago.
I went crazy with this fun exercise! I didn’t have a ton of space, so my berries are in with the Ivy, and the pathos is encroaching on the hydrangeas. It kinda looks like that was my intention. Nature finds a way! Cheers!
This is quite the intense but at same time needed for this newbie 'draw and paint' session. Even as a kid I didn't draw or paint, didn't doodle as an adult, I'm 76. I'm going to work at this over and over as I think it is an excellent tutorial!. I have limited everything including no neons. Love that yellow...any suggestion as what I could use to come close to accomplishing that till I have the set? Thank you, Kristy. love all your vids.
Thanks Kristi! Can’t wait to try this. My “aha” moment was how to draw folds in the leaves and my favorite was the berries and leaves. You are so talented and such an inspiration!
More spring flowers, please! Crocus, hyacinth, iris, or peonies. I would love to see how you sketch a daffodils from different directions. The hydrangea was so helpful! I love love this!
Do you have a playlist for drawing / painting flower also do you have a playlist for your dagger and cat tongue brushes? I bought your brushes and would love more practices. I been using rounds for years but these new brushes are so fascinating to me . Filbert too. Love your energy. Im low energy
What a fantastic demo! Thank you so so much for all the detailed information ....I'm sure I'l be able to draw a few fairly decent blooms. Many many thanks ❤❤❤
Loving this video on sketching! I always get smudges from the ink when adding watercolor. But then I'm impatient. How long do you suggest to cure the ink before lightly adding the color?
Flowers are so hard for me. I find painting them fussy. I’m never sure how to get the petals looking the same direction as the center. You’ve explained this so well I think I can do a page confidently with your instructions. 🌺🌱🎨
I did the one you did last year and it is my absolutely favourite thing I have ever done 💖 I still have not put watercolour on it I did not want to reck it
Tip: a kneaded eraser doesn’t leave the eraser crumblies behind to have to swipe off your paper and risk smudging your graphite across your paper which can muddy up your watercolors. Some might not care, but for others, they might find that annoying.
So I’m relatively new to sketching with all type of media (ink, pencils, color pencils, paints). Here’s my question I’m having trouble getting objects; birds, flowers, and cars, to love approximately look the same on each side. Can you talk about how you deal with this.
I have been loving the process of working through this video! It shows me I can actually draw and I’ve always loved coloring so coloring with the ink is awesome. Question about the pencil, why not use HB.? I like it because I can add in gray areas by smudging the pencil line some. I’d like to hear your thoughts about it?
Such gorgeous flowers and leaves!! 🥰 Yay!! 🎉 The Hydrangea is stunning!! 💐😅 Some favorite plants and flowers here: lilacs, snow on the mountain(like queen ann's lace but variegated foliage!), and coral belles. Im a big fan of colorful foliage!!🌈
I'm glad to see the ivy in the technique that you used. I do have problems with fillers and my leaves to me always look terrible so this is something different that I can try. I also wanted to say that a little trick that a friend of mine taught me is to use a shaving brush to brush the Eraser pieces and stuff off of your painting so that you're not using your hand as much we're taking a chance of getting pieces inside your paintbrush
I have missed this type of video ❤ which doesn’t negate my love for everything you do because I enjoy the YOU of your content the most. But this vid was so fun and joyous! Also, and please know to me this is a positive comment, the Queen Anns lace is giving strong Dr. Suess illustration vibes and makes me so happy! ❤
I love your teaching style no pressure and all mistakes are happy mistakes thanks so much for this lesson 😃
You are so welcome!
That was great. I just received your Joy pallet… the colours are amazing. In fact it’s my first pallet as I’m brand new. I love using it. Erika from Australia 🇦🇺
Wonderful!
You are such a good artist. I would have to trace those items from an original onto my paper and then color them in.
And there’s nothing wrong with that!
Thanks
I drew 4 of them and am happy with myself. I'll ink and paint tomorrow because I'm exhausted from the effort 😂
It is a lot!
More flowers like these please! Thank you 🎉
Will do!
Would love to see more pen and ink. Love it.
The Queen Anne’s lace totally blew me away… I understand now how to attempt this!

A lemon yellow would be good :)

Love this one. Saved to do when I have more time. Thanks Kristy.❤
Thanks Kristi! Can’t wait to try this. My “aha” moment was how to draw folds in the leaves and my favorite was the berries and leaves. You are so talented and such an inspiration!
Aww thanks! Those berries were my fave too! I want to fill a whole sheet!!
I sketched along with you. The Hydrangea was my aha moment. Mine still looks a bit too perfect, but lots of fun.Thanks.

Honestly if you’re using the exact pens I am… you can go right in…after a few minutes

I can't imagine how to paint the hydrangeas 😮
It’s honestly the easiest of all of them!

I kind of feel like the whole page is Suessy!! Something about the dark, thicker outlines!!
@@KristyRice yes exactly! And the broken shaggy lines. I love it 🥰
