I love this quilt. My sister gave me a bag full of my Mom's and Grandma's hankies. Now I know what to do with them. Thank you for the tutorial. Awesome!
Gorgeous, Beth. I can just imagine your handkerchief quilt spread on an iron bed in an old farmhouse, sheer curtains fluttering in the breeze. Just lovely
Oh, my Goodness, Beth!!!! How many of us have hairloom handkerchiefs that we absolutely love! *You are genius* (along with your friend who promted you)! Thank you so much!!!!
Beth, this is such a lovely quilt top using the vintage handkerchiefs. Your decision to sew each different sized hankie to a specific sized neutral background block brings a uniformity to the top. The eye sees a balance that is pleasing. A great idea. What a wonderful way to showcase pieces of history. Thank you for finding a creative method to save them and reuse them to be admired again years later. Each hankie is so delicately patterned like a piece of artwork. The best moment came when you added your finishing touch of the little cornerstone appliqued blocks placed on point. This was the moment when you turned what was quite a lovely top into something really exquisite. The hand stitched applique met the modern machine stitches and blended beautifully. These little blocks of vintage style fabric set off the vintage hankies in a remarkable way, somehow softening and at the same time coordinating, the larger blocks. What a terrific job you have done. Simply beautiful!
I agree, I thought the quilt was beautiful but then you added the corner stones and it became outstanding! I can’t wait to see how you quilt it, please post a video of that.
I have done this with gifted handkerchiefs from friends and family. You can also use dollies. Your quilt is beautiful. I love the squares at the corners.
How lovely! Decades ago I collected lovely old handkerchiefs. I inserted one in sympathy cards I sent. How I wish I still had some to do this project ♥️
This is a great idea. I have many vintage handkerchiefs that my Aunt sent to me. Most were her Mother's, born before 1900. Now I know what to do with them. Thanks Beth, you are so creative, I love watching. Take care.
Beth, this actually moved me to tears. I ordered some from Amazon and can't wait to get my hands on them. This will be a treasured heirloom for generations. I just love your work. God bless.
Thank you so much! Have saved lots of Mom & Grandma's hankies to make a quilt but never had an easy/simplified way until your tutorial! Now I have a plan & a pattern! ❤️
Oh thanks so much for this! I have my dear mother's vintage handkerchiefs. She passed in 2014. Oh how I miss her! Now I know what to do to preserve some of her legacy. blessings!
I don't think I have enough to make a quilt top this big (using what handkerchiefs I still own). Most of mine are well used. Your quilt turned out very interesting and beautiful A new handkerchief was the perfect gift to give a teacher for Christmas when I was a child.. It was easy to fold one and tuck it in the envelope with the Christmas Card. Of course it was Mom who provided the hankerchiefs and cards (she had each of us sign the card, carry it to school, and place it under our classroom's real Christmas Tree for our teacher. I always wondered how many handkerchiefs my teachers owned. Everyone carried a handkerchief back then; because, there was no such thing as boxed tissues at that time. One of my favorite games, on the playground, was "Drop the Hankie." We were poor county children; but, everyone carried a hankie.
Thank you for showing your process! I have some handkerchiefs that are not practical to use for their intended purpose, but are too beautiful to throw out. This was just the inspiration I needed. 😊
The on-point cornerstones at the quilt block intersections adds a very nice element to your quilt top! I've always loved delicate women's handkerchiefs, but other than framing them, didn't know what to do with them. Great project, Beth!
Hello Beth, wish you were my next door neighbor. Love how you have so many different ideas for making quilts, etc. please keep making your fun and relaxing 😊videos!

I love this! I have some vintage "hankies" that were my mom's. They are well over 50 years old. So, this will be a soon to make project. As I am already 70 years old and my children don't seem to want much of my antiques or crafting things, I need to use some of my stuff for useable items. I know they like and need bedding... I'll just make this. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Blessings to y'all.
