It was to commemorate something that I don't remember exactly... They still do that limited edition designs on the coins to commemorate special events like 100 year anniversaries. This was part of my culture shock in America. Co-workers who are HS grads or have at least an associate degree, born and raised in America ... can't spell and read english. My co-workers told me that in school, their teachers would accept their answers as long as it is the correct answer, although it was spelt wrong. I am not sure though if it is the same in U.S. Universities. Probably, not.

      @@firefoxcodex15 I agree. IMO, those particular teachers did not encourage their students to learn the correct spelling.
      These are common errors I frequently encounter:
      ~ your beautiful (instead of you're b.)
      ~ I would of done it (I would have done it)
      ~ asteriks (asterisk)
      ~ Westminister Ave. (Westminster Ave.)
      ~ I see no nothing (I see nothing)

      I know right? It kinda bothers me since some Asian countries are really strict when it comes to English that at some point some people are more comfortable with it rather than their own native language. But being in a country where English is the main language used, you might think they'd know all about it.

      Rare ang 200 banknote natin kasi kahit nasa circulation ito konti lang o madalang lang natin ito nakukuha. May iba kasi na kapag may 200 na buo iniipon lang dahil rare ito. they asked if you can asked to change like 1000 pesos to 5 200 bills. Answer is yes you can, but are you willing to wait hours in the bank for that? also above 500 is consider high value in Ph, 500=$10 and 1000=$20 usd. it may seem low in US but majority of low income filipinos buys at a sari sari store for small purchases, around 5-50 pesos per transaction. imagine paying 1000 when you only bought worth 20. you will also hear the line "wala pong barya" or they don't have change to that bill. it is likely a useless scenario of printing more than 1000 bill (5000 or 10000 like in yen).

  • @davepavillar4150
    @davepavillar4150 3 года назад

    The reason why the 200 peso bill is STILL rare because it is lately added in circulation. in the late 2000s when President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sat as the 2nd female president of the country. Her father is actually the one featured in the bill. The other bills are long in circulation. Actually, these bills are the new upgraded series. The old bills are of the same color and the featured people are retained.
    You can change your bills if you want by going even at neighborhood stores. You don't have to go to banks for an exchange, except when you're still holding the old note and coin series.
    Other features not discussed is the small Baybayin translation of the Philippines and the weaved column on each of the notes at the back right side. Each bank note has a weave pattern column from each tribal group in the country

    5:36 You say their is no difference because of the 3 heads 1k vs the 1 head 100 bill.. But if your are a jeepney driver, vendor who has a yellow light they fold the money and put it in their pocket so if the folded currency is taken out and the purple color of the 100 php bill is facing you and many orders/fare are taken by the vendors/drivers they won't have enough time to single out the bill so they look at the color of the bill instead. I actually have no problem with the old bank note just like you but the ones complaining are vendors/public utility drivers/eye defect people and old people.

    I like the Ph bills but I just don't like the new coins. They're all the same silver color now and you can barely see the numbers on them with how super shiny they are. The centavos used to be copper-colored, the 1 peso coin used to be silver-colored, the 5 peso coin used to be yellow, & the 10 peso coin used to be yellow in the center & silver on the rim.
