In 1963 i bought an album of these musicians in Rotterdam, Holland and listened hundreds of times. I loved the scatsinging and tried to get another record of them. Could not find one.
Just the most wonderful stuff. Beautiful. Reminds me of my darling grandfather who had this playing in the house when I was a toddler. We also used to sing Shiny Stockings with him on rhythm guitar. Thank you so much, darling Gramps! Love you and miss you!

Especially in the early days, Jon Hendricks, particularly when not finger-snapping or scat-singing, was wonderful
Yolande Bavan is special too
They were amazing
GOT TO MEET AND WORK WITH YOLAND AT TALKING BOOKS IN NYC. SHE IS AMAZING.
Proud to be Sri Lankan
So great
Masters of jazz vocalese! Honored to have worked briefly with late maestro Jon Hendricks. Hope to crass paths with Ms Bavan too someday.
The Jon Hendricks bio book "This is Bop!" brought me here.
Love this, thanks for posting ❤️
Excellent video
Missing Annie Ross!
Is there a full video of this recording of cloud burst? I put up the live version from Newport 63 on my channel but I'd like to hear this one.
This is a soprano sax, not an alto.
