wow, great job! I have a RQ-S15 and am going to replace the belt also. It's really similar inside. I am just waiting on the belt and a new soldering iron!! Thank you for your contribution. :)

Most of these Panasonic, you need to switch the hold button on then the back just drops off, same when putting it back on.

So hard to watch. I could’ve unsoldered that board in half the time. And how are you supposed to get fully inside pulley grooves with a blunt ass Q Tip?

If you have a better idea, i'd love to hear it. Getting those pulleys all cleaned up is a pain in the arse.

I use tiny Qtips you can find on Ali for nothing (are usually sold to clean small holes on smartphone like mic etc) - otherwise cool to see someone not too pro because I'm learning and it shows me were I might struggle - so thank you for the Vid

Hi, thanks for your vids. It helps a lot! I have a question regarding to the rq-sx models. Currently I'm repairing a rq-sx72. The motor is jittering and doesn't fully rotate at all. I doubt it's a motor problem, is it a problem with the a pcb component that's not sending the voltage in correct sequence to the motor, so it has no way of turning? Have you come across this problem? Here is a link of someone that has the exact same problem.

Hi, Thank you for your comments, you need to have some tools to trouble shoot this issue. First thing how are you powering the Walkman? Use the flat gum battery to test it correctly. Secondly check the supply voltage going to the motor. I have seen Motors go pop with age. This also related to dry solider joints. De solider the motor and check the supply voltage pins. Also if the belt or pulley are jammed that will also make this happen. The motors are the same on most Slim Panasonics. You can always find a donor and swap them over. All the best hope you find the clue.

@@thespecialist786 Hi, thanks for your reply. I tried powering it with both sidecar and flat battery, but the same results. I ended up swapping the motor, but unfortunately the same results. It must be somewhere in the pcb, but that is pretty hard to find. I'll see if I can get a donor pcb, that should fix the problem I think. Thanks again!
