- In 1860, Charles Darwin wrote a letter to another scientist who had criticized his book, On the Origin of Species. In this video I explain why I love this letter so much, and what it tells us about Darwin.

The evolution of life on Earth has arrived at the point where a test is to be passed and the outcome is not certain. It consists of us overcoming the enourmous environmental, biological, geopolitical and maybe even cosmological hurdles that stand in our way. Not only is our future at stake but also the heritage of the history of life on our planet.
Politics will not do it. All politicians do is play a kind of football. You take a side. And then you assimilate and identify to enough of a degree that that side becomes you and you can then emplore one of your most prolific evolutionary artifacts which I think has gone under the radar for the most part atleast for the true nature of what it is, which is an evolutionary appendage. That is, your innate warring nature. And so you kick off and the game begins. That is why it achieved nothing. Because it's just a game. The objective is not progress. The objective is winning. Progress is a welcomed consequence if it happens.
Therefore the only other thing we have as a hope in hell to hope like hell for is the commerce. You know... Elon Musk kinda shit

That applies to almost every time two human beings or more meet: from couples to friends to siblings, to teachers/students, businesses, politicians, scientists, philosophers, and everyone in between. If only two groups of the above: couples and politicians learn from this video, the world may drastically change for the better. We will be able to approach "The truth" more smoothly.

Hi Julia, have you ever read Hume's correspondence with Thomas Reid? Reid sent Hume a copy of his manuscript that heavily criticized Hume's position. Hume sent it back unopened saying he wished that men of the faith would keep to matters of faith. But a mutual friend encouraged Hume to read it. So Hume did, and then sent Reid a glowing letter praising his criticism, and saying that he himself had difficulty understanding the full ramifications of Reid's points. Reid wrote back closing the correspondence, saying something like:
"And although, Sir, we here at Aberdeen are all good Christian men, we would much prefer your company to that of Saint Athanasius himself. And our greatest fear is that should you ever cease writing on the subject of metaphysics, we would have nothing left to talk about at all."
Something about that is so beautiful to me. This is the integrity with which intellectual disputes could be conducted in the age before twitter.

Connected my phone on charger, laying myself on bed with a settled alarm on phone for 1 hours and 6 minutes duration of electrifying. A wake-up moment in the first sleeping duration gap after nearly an hour the I suddenly figured I forgot to switch on the charger connected plug, a wake-up from alarm noise after few minutes and finding out I only electrified for 9% i.e, from 61% to 70%, going to sleep again until I suddenly wake-up again from latest not so good dream that wakes me up 780 seconds before midnight, a moment that I started to work on again after few curious views on Facebook footages and Instagram search button photos or videos etc

That is what science is, at the end. Unfortunately, some scientists (and more pittyful, some who are not at all scientists, but that are eager to deny science itself at any opportunity) don't seem to grasp very well. We do not have the truth (fortunately), but we can find very good explanations and a couple of facts in the journey to try to reach it, and that must be acknowledged by everyone. Great video, Julia! We truly missed you.
