- Millie’s first day out at the MG Car Club Show n’ Shine nothing won this year however competing against MGB RV8’s just isn’t a fair competition in my opinion.
Anyway it’s just a bit of fun and it was a great day out with Deb, Jonothan and Jess. Lovely weather great group of people.
Couple of minor issues, fuel consumption was “special” I’ve fixed that now I think. Overdrive continues to work when it wants to and not when I want it to.
Great day out, Marty and Deb.
Lovely to see Mille in the sun, and surrounded by her 'siblings', after all your toil.
Hope she managed to pick up some awards.
Thanks Pete, great to see you there. Sorry no awards this time competition was a bit to strong. Still a great day out
A very enjoyable day out for Millie first day out ! Massive congratulations to you for this rebuild ! She looks beautiful gleaming in the sun
Great day out dearest, makes it all worth while when we can have a day out like that, Thank you for your never-ending support for what can be quite an expensive and at times consuming hobby.
I use to own a '65 Roadster with two tops and overdrive. It was red just like yours!
Thank you for subscribing Gil I'll do my best to retain your interest. MG's of this era are simple yet hard enough to be both interesting and challenging.
Looking back, there were some improvements that MG made in later years that made the roadster allot better. Like when they moved from six volts to a twelve-volt battery system, refined the steering system, etc.
@@gildavis8266 How right you are, and more improvements since they ceased production, electronic distributors, relays and LED lights to name but a few.
In your opinion, what was the best year to buy?
@@gildavis8266 there are two sides to this, the best looking year in my opinion was ‘74 hence the reason I picked that grill for my rubber to chrome conversion, and the best technology and interior design year , again in my opinion would be the ‘77 - ‘78, hence the reason I built Millie the way I did. The 74 one I have all the chrome bumper bits fit better, but I find the tech and interior I’m going to eventually convert to a later model, if I can. Dash wiring will be one of my challenges.
