Can't believe I haven't watched this video til now. I've loved this version since the first time I heard it back in the mid 80s, especially because two of my favorite vocalists are attached - Robin McAuley and Bobby Kimball. This song is still on my playlists almost 40 years later.
It's just the best version of this famous song. For me better then the original. I remember when i saw them on German TV, Live. I was 22, in Switzerland and i was fascinated, and the next day go and did buy the CD. I still have the CD Album. So many other great songs on that CD from Far Corporation.

This is like a guilty pleasure for me. They did a bunch of things that never should have been done, but with such commitment. Outright stealing the 'comin in the air tonight' drums, combining synth and real choirs, afro latin percussion on the quiet sections. I hate myself for loving it, but I do love it

While I would still rate the original (or perhaps The Song Remains The Same version) as the best, I always assumed I was the only person in the world who liked this. Such a shame that the proper long studio version isn't on RUclips or Spotify.
The original by Led Zeppelin is a classic rock song of the 70's and Frank Farian transformed it so absolutely phenomenal into the 80's that I am now a big fan. Frank Farian is the best, his musicans excellent.

The Far Corporation version of stairway to heaven is magnificent. Had it on rock compilation tape, back in the 80s, played it, too the tape was knackered, ahh happy days.
@@geoffreyevans5598 Actually It's Bobby singing at the end (he was playing keyboards earlier in the song while Robin was singing). This also has Steve Lukather on guitars and David Paich on keyboards, all three of whom are from Toto. This was an amazing collaboration IMO as Bobby and Robin are two of my favorite vocalists. The first two MSG albums with Robin on vocals (in other words, not MSG - Michael Schenker Group) are also two of my favorite albums.
I found out about these guys in the late 80's while working in Brazil from a British co-worker, and still have my original vinyl. The disco version was so cool with the synthesized drums.
I remember the BBC saying that "Robert Plant and Jimmy Page both thought this was great, and I guess they'd know" when this came out, didn't get much airplay at all the the states. So most people didn't even know it existed. Case in point. When I got back from Iraq in 2004, I was at a bar talking to a few of my friends and this girl came up and wanted to know all kinds of stuff. Since I was the only person she had ever met who was in the war. I met up with her at her apartment. She was a 24 year old SSG who had gotten out and felt that more was happening than they were letting Americans know. We got high, and I had my MP3 player with this on it and I put it on. She was mesmerized and listened to it three times back to back. I told her, this song is older than you are.

It's a Frank Farian "dreamteam" from several big groups, I think they made one album - all great songs! I had it when I was young, but I lost it - tried to find it for years... Lucky to at least find this masterpiece here.
I am a purist and what 4 guys did with the original is nothing but amazing. BUT my heart is torn the production the depth the gospel choir give something else. An amazing version and Plant/ page gave us this

I had the cds Division One and Solitude several years ago b/c I love this version, but after I got divorced the X kept the cds pout :( It's nice to hear it in its entirety again and played live. Seeing them for the first time is nice. Thanks for uploading.

Frank Farian war ein Musik-Genie . Robert Plant hat später zugegeben, daß diese Version besser war als Led Zeppelin selber. Gruß aus Bayreuth
