Toyota Aygo topspeed runs are the only one I've seen being casually passed by other cars while at top speed.
I have driven hours and hours near top speed, and the engine only gave out when I put diesel into the gasoline tank because somewhere the french thought about calling diesel gazole XD.
Nothing broke, carb got cleaned, tank got emptied and I was underway back home to get to my exam in about 2 hours of labor
Also while flat out it still sips fuel like a fking camel.
This car is pretty fking durable and it's cheap as fuuuuuuuck.

i got 5 different aygos older than this one, and each one of those can hit 170 totaly. its a small car but still goes like an arrow. such an impressive car.

My dad had one I mean It was shit but he loved it and it never went past 80 with 49 horsepower but what do you expect
Fun cars these are. I had a Peugeot 107 and now a Ford fiesta. My dads friend dropped off his Citroën C1 to get the clutch changed and it felt so good sitting in basically the same car again. Love the engine sound and how loud it is in the cabin 😂

There are 3 facts:
1. The gear ratio is very long. at 170Km/ h around 4300 RPM in 5th gear
2. Engine power is 68HP? really? take a look at some dyno results! This engine has around 72-80HP.
3. Top Speed in 4th gear on flat road 185km/h at 6000rpm, light downhill 190km/h and more are no problem.
I can confirm that with the 4th gear its faster.
That speedo is reading fast. This thing can't go over 100mph on flat road...
I had many cars, also something like this for couple of months too (Peugeot 107). It wasn't the king of the roads. Maybe it is strange but it was quite fun to drive ;) Cheers!

My mum has this actual car and uses it to drive to places like Manchester . She once went quite fast up a big hill and beat all the other cars going up but when she was at the top all the other cars went past her . It was so funny . At the top she said that she had worn the car out by going fast and by going up a ginormous hill.
Guys remember that speedometer shows speed 5km/h higher so if it says 170km/h you are actually going 165km/h

My mom has the same car but then in the Citroen version, I thought it was an error that the gearstick is so loose but apparently that's normal in those cars haha
0% shift feel, my dad has a Peugeot 107 and he puts his car 5 times in reverse because you can't feel if it's in reverse or 4th gear

The only trouble with motorway driving in an Aygo/C1/107-8 is that travelling straight ahead gets so darned boring - they're such fun in corners. The engine sounds great, though. I have a Citroën C1 second generation and the sound system is really good - but not at 100+ km/h (65+ mph). I'm going to put some more padding in...

nice. max speed I've hit in my aygo is only about 145 km/h.
Take a heart and try it 160km/h is easy to hit, 180km/h is downhil and tailwind possible
it gets the job done at least, it’s not really meant for this kind of enviornment either so it’s not bad
4-5 litres per 100km is applicable with regular driving style.
Just bought a 2014 reg one, total blast, loads of fun

180 hab ich mit meinem 2007er Aygo auch schon geschafft. Aber da hebt man fast ab, in Kurven wirds da schon ungemütlich.
Ja habe ich mit meinem 2009er auch, wurde aber verdammt instabil und sehr seitenwinanfällig, trotz 35mm Tieferlegung, 195er Schlappen und Domstreben vorne und hinten sowie Spoiler.
Aber ich liebe meine Kampfkugel

Mam Toyotę Aygo z automatyczną skrzynią biegów z 2008 roku. 1.0 68 km. Mieszkam w Niemczech. Ostatnio sprawdzałem prędkość maksymalną. Z górki jechałem 170 km/h . Na prostej drodze prędkość maksymalna to było około 157 km/h
I have driven this car for a few days, and this car really having power in de 2nd and 3rd manual. After the 4th/5th manual it loses power.
It's real. I have the same car, but it's a Peugeot 107. Cool litle car ! Enjoy it !
I believe that's due to the tall hearing at 4th and 5th

on this kind of car , maximum speed is often reached on 4th gear ;) you are not necessarily going faster on 5th gear.
@@fredericchambon3820 Yes, the 5th is for saving fuel and lower engine noise. I have the same car labeled as Peugeot 107, and i appreciate that clever gearing.
at some point the engine will not be powerful enough to push against the huge wind resistance that comes at higher speeds, it’s why they had to do some big aero magic with the bugatti veyron instead of just adding more gears

Hi everyone i hope someone who reads this can help me i have a little problem with the same car as this video i don’t know but when i am accelerating changing the gears from 1 to 2 and further it makes a tractor sounds when driving one high revs is it normal that sound for a 3 cylinders Toyota aygo or not really?
When you say tractor sound? Be more specific!!
You could be riding the clutch usually happens at higher gears but depends really

I have a 2014 toyota Aygo (1.0 3 cylinder engine) with just over 50,000 miles. Its been diagnosed by toyota as using between 0.8 a 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles (tested twice so far). Toyota says its within their specification and they will not investigate unless its 1ml over 1 litre per 1000 miles... For those that didn't know, this is stated in your toyota handbook and its what you agreed to when you purchased the vehicle from toyota or its within toyota warranty !!!
wow...Thats nearly double the consumption...how old was it how many kilometers on the clock? .... Ive had over 50 cars, many makes, mostly older and double plus mileage and never had this issue. I can understand that every orange tree produces a lemon from time to time but didn't expect Toyota to basically assume this cowardly position under warranty when others often offer goodwill out of warranty!
Thats unfortunate...not much mileage by todays standards engine wise. There is always an odd case out there but in my case , I bought this brand new, £3500 worth of extras, fully paid it with hard earned money only to be treated like an idiot. Maybe im to old school about actually owning a vehicle but I certainly now appreciate why allot off people just lease, finance and keep changing cars often. None the less, the lesson here is...read your handbook as an extension of the small print.
That 1kr-fe engines was designed to have little oil consumption to reduce the friction and to have a good fuel consumption.in this big role plays also and the kind of oil you put in in this case it needs 5w-30 oil that maybe makes little worst the situation because its thin oil.in the summer also the oil consumption increase because of evaporation of the oil because of the high temperature.so don't worry.put some oil from time to time and youll have it for above 300000 km.
depends on drivins stile , the oil is not leaked in eny place but because of high temperatures at verry high RPM the oil gets burned and evaporates a litle bit , that"s way it needs reffilling once in a while , but at a normal city speeds it does not need refill
@Paol Vrobel We had ours for nearly 5 years from new. My rant was not about the car but the service given to us while under warranty. That car is now gone (we traded it in) since toyota said this was normal as per the handbook. Both my children still have both of theirs I bought for them and they are fine besides the usual water leaks problems and the radio just passing out but that can easily be rectified. Doesn't bother me as they represented great value as older used cars.... not dicing these cars at all, just the company's attitude...

How? That doesn’t make any sense. Why would a lower gear have the higher top speed. Surely that is false.
That is mostly the case. The highest gear is usually a bigger gearwheel for lower rpms -> lower fuel consumption, lower wear and lower noise.
If you put for example an automatic transmission into sport mode it usually doesn't use its last gear.

These go 50 in first, 100 in second, 150 in 3rd, topspeed in 4th, and overdrive in 5th and loose speed. 4th will bottom out the speedo
My aygo has stage 1 remap and revs to 7300 rpm... goes 174 kmh in third gear :)

Hi , Toyota is not suitable for high speed roads . In city it’s good
They're ok for long runs. However if you put in 2 passengers plus luggage, then things start to struggle. Before you climb a hill on the A34 for example it's foot to the floor to maintain your speed.
