Long Beach, California G-funk group the Dove Shack consisted of Bo-Roc, C-Knight, and 2Scoops. The trio introduced themselves in 1994 with "This Is the Shack," a track on Warren G's Regulate...G Funk Era that showcased their knack for hard verses and melodic choruses over laid-back, funk-laced productions. An album, also titled This Is the Shack, was released through RAL (Rush Associated Labels) in August 1995 and peaked at number 68 on the Billboard 200, with "Summertime in the LBC" easily its most successful single. After that, less was heard from the group. They released a second album, Reality Has Got Me Tied Up, in 2006. All three members have issued independent solo albums.

I was a kid in the 80s, a teen in the 90s and a young adult in the 2000s. I wish I could go back to those days.

The Dove Shack album was such a classic and underrated. One of the best G funk albums along with The Twinz Conversation. Absolute WC classics.
Conversation was better than Regulate production-wise, such a slept on masterpiece. I bump that album on the regular.

MEMORY: I live in North Long Beach (sharing a border with CPT) and my son went to Jordan High School, Long Beach. Before he got there, we went to the Jordan basketball games because the team was ON FIRE around this time. They went all the way to State. Anyway, at the school they played music before the games started. When they played this song, the entire Jordan side started to sing along and it was just so uplifting. I was so proud to be from the LBC. So yeah, West Coast to this day.
