I'm currently on iPhone 13 Pro Max and is upgrading to the 16 Pro Max. Seriously considered a S24 Galaxy Ultra. Might have been fun, but the Apple echo-system is too valuable to leave, especially as a creative person who does a lot of music ideas on the go with the voice recording app, lyrics writing with the notes app and a lot of other stuff where the ideas transfer SEAMLESSLY from one device to the next. The Apple Intelligence features are interesting, also. Looking forward playing around with it!
I currently have a 12 Pro and just swapped up to the iPhone 16. I'm not going to lie, the pink color was a huge decision factor for me. I have since discovered the pro version is the only one with the zoom, so I hope I don't regret not getting the 16 Pro. I'm guessing the regular 16's zoom is the same as my current 12 Pro. I'm excited either way, but I have a feeling my concert photos will not improve, LOL.
I have an 13 Pro Max and I want to upgrade just because I’m not satisfied with the performance. But I’m having a hard time justifying the 16 Pro Max. I like the idea of the 16 Pro, just don’t know If I’d be loosing anything major. I definitely need some advice.
@@DarZen_noall of them are great phones. No matter what phone you get its going to be good. "Assuming you're upgrading from a phone that's at least 3 years old"
I won't be upgrading this time. My 15 Pro Max doesn't have any heating issues. The year-over-year camera improvements are marginal; you need a 2 or more year gap between iPhone models to enjoy significant camera improvements. The 5x tetraprism lens on the 15PM was a significant upgrade from earlier, and it doesn't seem changed for the 16PM, thought it is fantastic that it's now available on the regular, non-Max size Pro. These are expensive phones, and you really save a lot of money by keeping your phone 2 years compared to upgrading every year. So that's my plan. I'm excited for all of you who will be picking up a 16 or 16 Pro, regular or extra large version.
Every update is software update which iPhone 15 and 14 can also run. And the camera button, it is useful sometimes, but it just looks like an idea comes out when Apple had nothing to update but had to make some changes
Many people talk about thermal solutions on phones as "cooling" but this is incorrect. All these systems do is dissipate heat into the body of the phone so if your phone feels hot to the touch then that means that thermal solution is working as intended. If you want your phone to be cooler while doing the same task then you don't want "cooling" you want a more efficient SOC that can perform the same task with fewer watts.
@@FredFerrari592there literally is no reason yet, you got 120hz, you got magsafe, you got Software Updates iOS 18 for sure. One Thing you could do is a new Battery if its below 80%
I was on the fence about upgrading this year to a 16 pro from my 15 pro. This years version shut that door real quick. I was severely disappointed with the 16 pro series this year. Same screen nits. A very minor camera upgrade. Same amount of ram. This is an S year indeed.
I still have iPhone 13 Pro Max so when this comes out, I’m upgrading then. The white one is gonna be nice. Simple color for a more updated phone. I’m looking forward to it. Plus if the cooling works, my battery life expectancy will stay higher than it is now. 2 more paychecks and this phone is paid off. Now I’m excited. I mainly want the better battery, faster charging, and the cooling system on it
I also have the 13 pro max. I was going to go with the pink plus but seeing the colour for this gen i guess im going with another pro max... the pastels were so cute, no idea why they would go vibrant smh
@@jasminmorley there's absolutely no reason to upgrade from a 13, if you need usb c just go to the 15 pro and save some money, the 16 is kind of embarrassing really.
@@yonkocommander5531 the 15 pro has over-heating problems which a huge issue for day to day usage. That alone makes it worth upgrading to iPhone 16 pro versus the 15 pro. The iPhone 16 pro also has faster charging 40W versus 27W so it's not exactly the same type C. You also get ~10% more battery life. Also a 48MP ultra wide camera vs 12MP is a huge jump. I’ve upgraded to a Pixel Fold 9 512GB obsidian from iPhone 11 Pro Max. Only reason I’m doing it is because Apple stopped the security updates for my phone. At least for me getting a “new” phone will offer a different experience and a dual function from phone to tablet. My wife also got sick and bored of her iPhone 12 Pro Max so I bought a galaxy Z Fold 6 1 TB and she is loving it. Our next phones after these will be only foldable going forward.
Maaan, I'm so on the fence between the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Honor Magic V3. The Honor Magic has the pixel beat from a tech standpoint, but software-wise, it's Pixel all the way. I hope you got an extended warranty for the Z Fold 6. I'll never support another Samsung Fold after my screen stopped folding flat weeks after the year warranty on my Z Fold 4 was up. $750 to "fix," a known issue by Samsung 🙄
@@simplerelaxation9743 I’m getting my pixel 9 fold delivered today and the pixel 3 watch 45 mm tomorrow. My iPhone is 5 years old but it runs great. It’s time for a new device anyway. It can be used as a regular phone when not folded and a tablet with all the phone functions when folded open.
Top end slab phones today are priced at $2,500 (CAD) + tax + warranty. For about $500 (CAD) more one can have a foldable phone, such as a , Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Fold. It’s really not a lot when you’re already spending upwards of $3000+ (CAD). Of course the financial aspect is personal and one should spend responsibly. I pay for everything I own in cash so I’m already living debt and mortgage free. I just refuse to buy another iPhone and really have no change my mobile computing experience; I may as well keep my current phone if that’s the case.
That camera button is the innovation for them. Playing video in slower speed on the gallery is another innovation which can be found in any android flagship which came few years ago.
The big thing for a lot of people (at least the ones I know) between the pro and the regular iPhone is the 5x zoom. Using the phone as your main camera, it would be really nice to have better zoom. I could leave a lot of the other pro features.
When you list out every update to the phones, it's more than I realized. Per usual, no one should be upgrading their phone every year. The regular 16 vs the 15 is a big upgrade: processor jump, action button, camera control, bigger battery, big camera improvements. While I agree that for the price they should have 120hz, only techies care let alone notice for real.
After all these years of being an iPhone user, I'm making the switch to Samsung. I just feel like they've got way more to offer. Different strokes for different folks, I guess
Im predominantly and iphone user, but switched over to Samsung a few times. I think both companies make great phones, but upgrades are iterative and to get that feeling of having a truly new phone phone experience when getting a new phone I feel that only switching to another manufacturer will give you that. Currently have an iPhone 15 pro max and debating whether to wait for the Samsung ultra 25.

I use an XR and it has basically stopped working at this point, so naturally was looking to upgrade this year. I’ve watched countless videos of people using the phones, as I didn’t know if I wanted to go to the plus sized phone, but none of the videos actually showed them holding/using it naturally. This is by far the best video I have watched on this new phone, so thank you!

12PM user here too. The big reason to upgrade this year is the trade in value. It appears after this year the trade in value for the 12 pro max falls off a cliff. You can get $1000 trade in credit from ATT if that's your carrier.
The base colors this year are amazing. I can't go without telephoto (commonly included in midrange in any line but iOS) but Apple always manages to make me feel like I'm sacrificing something no matter which model I lean toward

I'm laughing really, really loud :))) You can of course use your smartphone without a protective glass :) but I care about my tech and you know what the problem is ?! if you put a protective glass on the S24U, the anti-reflective coating is gone. Of course, you can buy official anti-reflective glass from Samsung, but in the first place it cuts your fingers with sharp edges (Samsung has always not cared about its fans), in the second the sensitivity of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor deteriorates (not 100%, but it fails from time to time).

It may be an incremental upgrade for most, but coming from a 6 yr old XR I'm hoping the 16 Pro will be a significant improvement.
My iPhone 11 Pro Max has served me well for 5 years. Probably gonna by the 16 pro max and wait another 4 years until the iPhone 20 pro max

Going to be getting myself an iPhone 15 Pro (hoping for a good drop in price) and the new iPad Mini when it's finally released.
Thanks for the update.
