    and in the 1949 solo, it doesn't take much imagination to understand how many of his peer pianists in the 30s 40s and 50s were totally awestruck at his ability. probably the most extraordinarily gifted pianist in history, who could play anything

      Not true. He's on his second reincarnation now after Art. Check out Kenny Drew Jr.

    Jazz was born in New Orleans but Art Tatum came from another planet.
