Peter Honore is an absolute legend. That ending. His mastery....amazing playing whilst guiding Lee’s own playing. Sheer class. And I need that Builder’s Edition.
Seems like actually a real innovation ! There is a genuine sound improvement over other guitars, just listen to the sound quality of the jam at the end.
the 1 tier cutaway looks good....i hope this bracing doesn't make the guitar more bright as it is already a bright guitar....can't wait to hear a properly mic'ed demo
While I'm not a sound engineer by trade, I have done a fair amount of FOH work and heard a lot of acoustic guitars in that time, and I always preferred the sound of a Taylor over all others. If I ever decide to pick up an acoustic, I want it to be a Taylor, and now I want it to be a V-class! Even with the terrible recording environment, these are hands down the best sounding acoustics I've ever heard.
The intonation point is an interesting theory. If you like your acoustic guitars to ring like a bell (much as Taylor is known for) then I imagine this bracing and the sonic effects it creates will be perfect for you, and for this type of guitar. I'm not persuaded you would get a very convincing bass and monopole action from the top however, so that remains to be seen. This appears to be focused on the long dipole vibrational movement more than anything else, but this is a novel concept for Taylor so it's probably best to give it a few years (or better yet, a few decades) to see where it goes. Not sure why Taylor would patent such a bracing pattern though... That's like patenting a cutaway!
Also... 5:04 I dunno but I just played those same notes on a non-Taylor with x bracing and they sounded equally lovely and in tune. Granted though, this Taylor appears to have sustain in spades.
Another Jim Dandy fan here. That inexpensive box of magic makes me happy every time I pick it up. I gave one as a gift to my guitar teacher and another student tried it and he bought one.
Sorry man, didn't mean my response to sound snarky... What I meant was..even for a high end guitar, this sounds incredible. Like they said it has a piano/harp like quality. It's definitely got the X-Factor
Taylor has always made impressive guitars... But these sound like a step up for them. I just hope they don't hurt the wallet worse than their other models...lol
Me: Woah, those things sound incredible. Man I gotta check out how much they go for Me 5 minutes later: guess I'm only getting one of those in 10 years 😢😐
termoking . Yes it's actually been there for ages. Don't get what all the fuzz is about. I guess that's just marketing doing their thing. To make people believe in things.
Okay, I want to believe you, Piet, but can you show me an example (from before 2012), please? It is only because Taylor has taken a patent on this V-bracing. Maybe unfairly?
Well, if nobody else every took a patent on it, than there you go. But in the past I have seen luthiers using and experimenting with it. Sometimes with success, sometimes without. As always there are compromises. Of course they are not gonna tell you what the catch is exactly. Btw, a patent doesn't say anything, except the fact that you have the rights to a certain invention. Second to that is that a patent is only worth something if you have the funds and an army of lawyers to defend it. It surprises me that they even can get a patent on it to be very honest. (but I wonder that about more patents)
In fact, the type of bracing really reminds me of traditional Spanish fan bracing. With some tiny little modifications here and there edit: like this one vintagemartin.com/MartinCoupaKoa.html (ironically that's a Martin, lol)
Sounds like every other expensive acoustic. I’m sure he has a point but not to the degree he is claiming. A master built guitar has the same results. Sustain, intonation, etc. are perfect on master-built guitars. Listen to Tommy Emmanuel and the tone, sustain, harmonics he achieves on his acoustic. Again, I’m sure he has a point and the V bracing could give more to sustain, but to the degree that this guy was claiming? Not even close. Making comments about I gave this chord up or no one dares plays and E chord that high up - that’s taking it pretty far. I have a Gibson custom shop acoustic from early 2000’s and mine achieved the same results as this video. I am not saying my guitar is better just simply saying that master built guitars will achieve this quality.
I'll have to say, unfortunately I do not like the sound. Your demo was jangly, & sounded, ironically, like a Banjo on some of the chords. Nope - not for me. I'll take a Martin, Bourgeois, Santa Cruz, or a Collings anyday over that "new" old stock bracing system.
It seems like everything Andy wants to evolve in the Taylors has already been created in Carbon Fiber guitars. Ultra thin tops with no bracing necessary. This is Taylor BS (marketing hype)
Steve Martin This all a matter of the “power of suggestion.” I want to hear something different, so I do... I own a Taylor guitar, I love it, but I don’t know if shaving hairs - like they’re doing here - is going to sell more instruments.
Is Andertons going to be the first brave dealer to shoot an x-braced k24 vs V-class braced k24 video?
please do this, please!
Peter Honore is an absolute legend. That ending. His mastery....amazing playing whilst guiding Lee’s own playing. Sheer class. And I need that Builder’s Edition.
Mark knows his shit, just don't ask him about pricing. Mark dosen't talk money, Mark talks music.
man. that sounded incredible.
That's most beautiful jam from the channel for me
That guitar really does sound incredible!
Of course it does... Danish Pete is playing it!
Seems like actually a real innovation ! There is a genuine sound improvement over other guitars, just listen to the sound quality of the jam at the end.
That genuinely sounds amazing! I was shocked at the sound and certainly never thought I could be by an acoustic after all this time
I finally get to see someone other than the taylor crew play the guitar!
Great video and looks to be a awesome new guitar bracing pattern!
Great jam at the end! Sounds really good.
Pete is awesome!
With other players I understand how they got there with practise. But Pete's just got that touch.
Always wondered why Pete had that tattoo... now I know it was just so that we could identify him in that shot.
Nice little jam at the end.
Best vid from namm yet :P
Holy pizza what a sustain and what a tone, even from this video, it's mental
well demo'd Andy - that was pretty sick - as a loyal Martin follower!!
the 1 tier cutaway looks good....i hope this bracing doesn't make the guitar more bright as it is already a bright guitar....can't wait to hear a properly mic'ed demo
Great playing gentleman. That's the best I've ever heard you guys sound.
Make Pete a signature Taylor :D
He is the man!
what a sound... those high fret notes are absolutely unbelievable...
Those sound fantastic!
The guitars sound amazing but what about that beautiful playing from lee and Pete eh!
10/10 love it. you did a great job at NAMM.
I am impressed.
awesome jam at the end fellas
Wow, great guitar, great playing. Thank you.
Actually sounds amazing.

Damn I need to get one of these
loved the ending
When are they arriving in Andertons? When are the Roadshows??

Greg Batchelor I believe Martin has there A bracing patented also.. not sure

A/B a V-braced guitar with a $150 Gretsch Jim Dandy. Those junky little boxes somehow hit on a great sound - perhaps by mistake.
Jeff Morris i agree. They are surprisingly decent sounding (for the $$)!
Another Jim Dandy fan here. That inexpensive box of magic makes me happy every time I pick it up. I gave one as a gift to my guitar teacher and another student tried it and he bought one.
WOW
That guitar sounds amazing
they probably didn't use the bottom of the range model here, so of course :D
Didn't they say this new bracing was only on two of their flagship models...so I kind of knew that
Sorry man, didn't mean my response to sound snarky...
THis guitar!!!
Want V bracing 500 series plz!
'We didn't even tune them..' LOL
So Taylor, is my $4000 2016 Taylor K26ce considered garbage now because is has X bracing? V Bracing...Sales Gimmick?
I think 🤔 I need that guitar
I'm with the headphones on, and it really sounds great... I'll have to change mi 214 ce, save money, and.. learn to play better :P
heavenly ending !!
Just 3 years til we get guitars that people can actually afford to buy though :/
What was the model of the guitar he was playing ? absolutely stunning sound!!
I thought it was Keith Urban:(
Not enough mascara ;D
Great playing and sounding guitars !!
Me: Woah, those things sound incredible. Man I gotta check out how much they go for
Me 5 minutes later: guess I'm only getting one of those in 10 years 😢😐
With any luck the V-bracing will trickle down to their affordable models!
I sure hope so
Yup RIP X-Bracing long live the V!
I love you Pete! Bro love mang
shiraga ABSOLUTELY
Pete is so good Holy shit
Now that i have more S-U-S-T-A-I-N in the bedroom, I wish there was a way to tone down my wife's VOLUME. I'm already going deaf.
Wow...
Compare this to a Lowden guitar and we will see if it really that good.
Acoustic guitar PR people crack me up... but credit where credit is due, that sounds fantastic
I'm only interested in Andy at Taylor, no one else.
Huh, new? Revolutionary? Check this Dutch guitar forum (from 2012):
www.gitaarnet.nl/forum/showthread.php?153871-A-B-C-of-X-Y-Z-bracing

Do you really recognize a v-shape bracing in that Martin guitar, Piet?
Ohh give me one please....
PETE LEGEND :D
Made it to 2:30 and the no mic is making this unwatchable.
Danish Pete. That is all.
Thats amazing. Maybe one day i can afford one
I need a crappy sounding Taylors to sustain longer.
What would John Mayer do. . .
Playing a Martin :D
These V class destroy any Martin. DESTROY!
ok... I didnt want to compare them, just pointing out, what John Mayer would do :D
awesome

Want one
Yeah but it's it transacoustic
Way too bright for my taste. I'll stick with my 414 and GS6

Did you listen to it... through your phone speakers?
No. I guess He was there in person!
They never show it plugged, only acoustic, you know why? because they know ES2 is horrible, always acoustic, that is the strategy.
That sounds like a piano!
It seems like everything Andy wants to evolve in the Taylors has already been created in Carbon Fiber guitars. Ultra thin tops with no bracing necessary. This is Taylor BS (marketing hype)
Steve Martin sounds pretty nice
Now that you mention it, it does kinda sound like carbon fiber

First comment yayayay great vid
I hope you re honnest with mexican people building you GT-R....
