@@Majisaurus Don't worry! I might be exaggerating just a weeeee bit, but you should be okay if you listen to your body; use plenty of oil, don't rush, find really small jumps if need be.

Pro piercer here! If it hurts it's too soon to stretch! You can ease it along with weights but don't wear weights to exclusively stretch or you can get thinning, also avoid leaving pincers in there after stretching if you stretch with them as they move a lot and silicon bands are not the most hygienic as an understatement 😅 CBR jewellery can cause irritation because it's a struggle even for piercers to get the balls in tbh, and it's so much easier to do it on someone else.
Remember clean hands, NO COTTON BALLS OR WOOL, and implant grade titanium at a MINIMUM and stay safe!
This isn't really true for septums though? Once you get to like 4mm plus cartilage denting happens, and no matter how ready your skin is that's gonna fucking huuurt.
@@BMANluvdacrusade I've had my septum stretched to 2G with no pain from assisting the stretch with weights. Took me 6 months to get from 4G to 2G but worth it for the chance of not ripping or deviating the septum due to damage and that means you don't need a reconstruction of your nose surgically to get back breathing. It definitely makes a difference and with the cartilage in the area I recommend stretching every 1/4mm when you get past 8G approx. It's definitely possible, you are going to get slight tenderness and dimpling and discomfort depending on the shape of your nostrils and where exactly in the sweet spot you were pierced / how big your sweet spot is. Before stretching to larger sizes I'd see a piercer to assess the size of your sweet spot and realistically how big you can stretch. There is definitely a limit on septums based on anatomy unlike lobes.
Expect discomfort but never pain.

Im a piercer too and I have never heard of anyone else tell such a thing as that when it comes to stretching septums, when it comes to the "if it hurts it's not ready". Pain is individual and ofc it's gonna hurt to a certain amount when you stretch the septum. Some people don't feel it as much as another, that's the thing, and there are often breakpoints to that certain pain. For me it was a HUGE difference when I got over 5mm all the way to where I am now at 16mm. And yes, I agree on that weight makes it alot easier in the progress.
So glad I’m not the only one that panics when they take their jewelry out thinking the hole is just going to close up immediately 😅
I accidentally stretched my helix one time (16g to 14g.) Went right in, I didn't realise straight away!
Also, it's waaaay easier to put a ball on when you're wearing gloves- trust me!

I literally just stretched from an 8 to a 6 and oh my god, if you can get ahold of a 7, DO IT, I have an incredible pain tolerance, but man, it was a tough stretch. I never had problems stretching my septum until 6

I might wait a little longer to do it if I can’t find a 7 gauge so thanks for letting me know that. I definitely didn’t wait long enough before I stretched to an 8 gauge so I need to b careful w/ it 🥲
@@Kristenn666 if 10 to an 8 was painful, yes yes get a 7, or use the tape method, my buddy is at a 00g all thanks to tape! I was at 8 for half the year and at 8 and I honestly didn't think I could make it while trying to stretch for a 3rd time but my partner stretched theirs, and they haven't been stretching as long as I have, definitely wouldn't recommend the straight jp

I went straight from 14 to 10 by accident (miscommunication between piercer and front counter) and almost cut my fuckin nose off healing it. I had absolutely no plans to go to 8g because of the last stretch... until quarantine 🥴

It only hurts for a short time, the same as most general piercings and it's definitely been worth it :D x
One thing i hate about stretching my septum is almost constantly smelling the smell of streched ears and having to clean it all the time. If you know you know.

A little tip for the balls on BCR’s, buy yourself a pair of “mosquito forceps”. I learned this trick when one of mine came out at work and I couldn’t get the ball back in. When I was cleaning the kits at the end of the day, I saw one in my bowl and had my ah ha moment. 😂

Lmao same, i have 5mm septum too! Sizes from 1.6mm to 3.2mm were only a bit uncomfortable but fucking hell 4mm was really painful. 5mm was the easiest, didn't feel a thing.

Oh hey, don't panic! I had my septum pierced in that same horrific spot, and also had it repierced. I had no problem stretching mine to 4g. I stopped at that size because that was my goal, I cannot comment on whether or not I could go any larger.

I literally had my first septum piercing botched in the exact same way as yours, the pain was so bad, almost traumatised me so much to the point I almost couldn't get it re-done. Got it repierced a couple years back and all good now. I got pierced by the owner of a tattoo studio that did piercings too but they obviously had no idea about piercings. Now I only go to piercing only places, I'm lucky I have a blue banana near me, they are brilliant and so knowledgeable and confident with what they do
Lucky, I don't have any piercing only shops around me. Luckily I ended up with a decent septum piercing

My septum is usually a 0g but I downsize in the winter. But oh god... I remember it all. Would I do it again? No, but yes.
The furthest I could get my nose was a 2g (6mm). Now it’s uncomfortable sometimes.

my septum is at 10g at the moment and i've stretched it 3 times, each time with a taper though. i couldn't imagine just putting the next ring in! the first time was painful but doable, i'd never stretched anything before though so i was slow and careful. second stretch was really easy, no pain at all which was weird, and next to no pain afterwards. the third one was more similar to the first one with some pain, and i probably should have left it longer but it's been a couple of months now and it seems to be healing fine! i'm hoping i can try and get up to the next size within the next couple of months~
Edit: I stretched my septum to 3.5mm last night~ it’s annoying that there’s next to no jewellery available for the size but I used a stainless steel plug with rounded edges so it wouldn’t scratch the inside of my nose as it goes through. It went in pretty easy, I just have to look like I don’t have a septum piercing for a while until it heals properly and I can go up to 4mm! This was the first time I’ve dead-stretched my septum too lol, the rounded edges of the plug helped a lottttt with getting it in.

Septum is soooo easy to have for jobs that don't allow them. They can be flipped up (even right after being pierced) so they're easily hidden for work :D x

Back in 2012 my stupid ex piercer told me the minimum time to stretch my ears was every 2 weeks! let's just say I was so close the having blow outs 5-6 times within that year to get to 10mm, but I am so lucky my ears never split or blew! I can assure you now I will never ever be touching my ears with a needle or stretch any bigger ever again because the amount of pain I went through was horrific! If my ears had their own personalities they would never talk to me again.

I really admire people who can do piercings. My body seems to hate them and doesn’t want to heal them, so I just admire them from afar. Right now I have an industrial piercing, basic ear piercings, and my belly button pierced. Maybe one day I’ll go for lip piercings

I've almost fried my hair off due to that. not because I don't know better but because I don't care. Its just hair, and its just me.
I'm gonna start using "Get on you stinky b*tch" from now on 😂😂 also, I just stretched to 8g and it was sore for a good while. I used vitamin E oil for mine. Definitely more tricky than stretching ear lobes! My goal is 4g ❤️

I'm up to 4mm in the lower earlobe and at 3.2mm in the second lobe pierce on both ears - it took TiME. Other than that I wish I wasn't on the other side of the pond and 3000 across that land mass for when you are able to work as a piercer... you've been getting pierced for a long time and have had horror stories... I'd trust you.

Same girl. Same. the first time I got my septum done it hurt to high heaven. She didn't hit "the sweet spot" and managed to pierce higher than that area. It also NEVER SAT STRAIGHT. I was pierced straight...but it always swung forward. You'd push it back - boop - forward it would go. I persevered with it until one day - like literally only about 5 weeks into having it - it got stuck in my cats collar adn well....yeah.
I sucked up the bollocks to go get it redone a year later at a MUCH better studio and here we are. the biggest fear was getting it redone but then it was...just done. no pain. I was like "wot O-O"

I have my septum stretched to 4mm and I went in 0.5mm steps and I was totally fine! The only thing I found which was a bit weird was that my front teeth would hurt a bit after every stretch 😅 don’t know if anyone else has experienced that
