  • I picked up the Triple Aught Design Axiom 24 last fall (2018) when it was first released by TAD. I've been using it off and on since then in my EDC and travel bag rotation. In true TAD fashion the quality of the bag is second to none with thoughtful organization and design features. I have previously owned the Axiom 18 but found it just slightly too small for my needs, the Axiom 24 really makes up for all of the shortfalls in size and design of the 18.

      Agreed, still an awesome pack. I’ve got the GORUCK x Carryology collabs in heavy rotation on my end.

    Load lifters in backpacks are like nicest thing that manufacturer can give you after the comfortable carrying straps. Because almost all the bags are at least "okay" to carry when they are light, but when you pack them full of stuff for lets say 24~ hour travelling day to you destination that's the situation when most of the bags without the load lifters start to piss you off. So having option to tight up those load lifters and get rid of the little slack on you bag is something that I do appreciate a lot and actually I would not even buy that big of a bag without them. I have had TAD litespeed for years and it has seen a lot of use and I use those load lifters regularly to keep the pack tight on my back.
    Some great ways to stove away those long ends of those load lifters is to buy ITW Nexus Web Dominators to them I do use those on loose strap ends my litespeed and they work perfectly and cost next to nothing from local hardware store. Also what I've seen ppl doing in military side is to roll up those ends and wrap them tight with black electrical tape although that's not probably very clean looking option and suites better military applications. Also one way to stove them away is to use velcro one wrap. If there is made a little loop in end of the webbing put the one wrap thru the loop and then roll it up by leaving the one wrap in middle then just wrap it around the roll and vòila. Or then you can also heat up some knife with torch and cut them to your preferred length like I did on my litespeed since they were like way too long (probably because then they are easier to roll up).

    I have the TAD24 as EDC but now contemplating Goruck GR2 26 or 34L. Seems 26L might be too similar. What's your take on both? Thanks and keep up the good work

    • @GoldenFleas

      I feel Iike there is much more space in the gr1, possibly because it’s just one large compartment. I have 2 of the 26l, love them. Funny you say the 34l, I just preordered one yesterday from goruck.

      @@GoldenFleas congrats. I was looking for a 26L 500D GR1 slick but couldn't so 34L 500D GR2 was a pretty satisfying 'compromise' haha

    Great review! I was thinking the same thing about why there weren't any other review videos on the Axiom 24. Love the pack originally bought the Axiom 18 and realized it was too small for my needs. My only gripe with the pack is the Hypalon material, in seems to attract scuffs and other cotton like matterial and almost feels sticky at times. Any suggestions on how to clean and maintenance on your pack? 🤙

    • @GoldenFleas
      @GoldenFleas  5 лет назад +1

      Gary Lagapa yeah I had the 18 also, got rid of it for same reason. Agree on hypalon, but man is it durable. I usually just wipe down with a damp cloth. Nice and easy.

    Hey man- Great review! I have the same bag in black. Mine gets a bunch of scuffs on the front and I'm constantly wiping it... how are you keeping the black VX clean?

    • @GoldenFleas
      @GoldenFleas  2 года назад

      I just wipe it down with a damp cloth. The hypalon is what I found to need the most cleaning

    • @GoldenFleas

  • @Tony16610

    Great review man, this is looking like my next bag. Is the laptop compartment well padded and suspended? Or is it just one or the other? Also, with the way the load lifters are attached to the bag- do you think there's a danger of either the straps or the load lifters ripping as they look fairly far from each other?
    Noticed too you have a nice selection of GoRucks! Does this pill clothes like the GR line does? Thanks :)

    • @GoldenFleas
      @GoldenFleas  5 лет назад

      Tony16610 the laptop compartment is pretty adequately protected on both sides. I’m not sure your carry enough weight to affect the load lifters and they appear to be very well constructed/stitched. TAD has excellent customer service if you run into issues. The straps are soft padded material on one side and VX material on the other. Will not cause pilling like the GR 1000d cordura straps

      Wendy Reshetar I ended up selling it. Loved the color and xpac material, but it didn’t feel like 24L at all. It was too small no matter how I packed it. Stuck with my goruck Gr1 26 in black multicam.
