Absolutely unstoppable. Lagat had no chance. Bekele is that rare combination of strength and speed. Had he not messed up the strategy four years earlier, he would have won against El G. no way was he leaving it to chance the last 400 here.
Hot damn did he give those Kenyans a "run" for their money, commanding nearly half of the entire race. Distance running has seldom seen anyone who mastered the "keep up or die trying" tactic quite like Bekele did. Absolutely brutal, especially considering it was at the olympics.
Dont know if you are meaning ironicly but El guerrouj was not in this race. He beat Bekele in the 5000 m of Athens, where i seriously think Bekele fucked up with the strategy, as he ran a slow race and leaved everything for the last lap, where obviously Hicham was faster. I really think if Bekele had raced as in Beijing he would had won.
@@gonzalogonzalez587 ,no doubt about it. I was screaming four years earlier, I could not believe Bekele let it go slow like he did, playing right into hicham's hands. Bekele really learned a hard lesson that day, and it was not about to happen here.
This is brutal. BRUTAL! I just wanna lay my head on the table and cry when I watch Kenenisa run. The greatest runner in history, no one's even close.
To give Bekele a true historic legacy, I do hope he's the first to break 2:00.00 in the marathon!
I got goosebumps when I saw him kick on that last lap. "the awesome strength no one can match"
Such a great tactical race by Bekele...fantastic!
He is the best in history!!!! HE IS A MONSTER!
nobody will ever beat Bekele's world records. Best ever.
💚
Last mile in 3.57, jesus christ!!!!!!!!
That is 2:27/km what.the.hell

Where is hicham El guerrouj to show him who is the best??
because El Guerrouj is not?
he tried to follow that pace and end up dropping...he beat Kenenisa once near the crossline but beaten many times
