They genuinely did not have to tie this game to the arkham verse, and to make things worse turning harley quinn into the "girlboss millennial morally-grey anti hero" archetype when she was helping joker torture Jason and poison hospitals across Gotham not too long ago. Its so bad lol

I really hate how they're trying to push Harley as this "epic girlboss" that tells batman off and says how he "emotionally damages everyone". Let's not forget this is the same Harley that was perfectly ok with both her and Joker torturing and killing kids in this universe.
Meanwhile she treats Batman punching criminals a bit too hard as a bad thing, “oh you cause emotional damage to everyone!” bruh, you used to mass murder and tourture people including KIDS for a living, did it with joy and laughter, and yet you lecture people about emotional damage?
I don’t know what they were smoking when they decided to do that with Arkham Harley’s character (one of the most pathetic and evil interpretations of her)
I’m really sick of Harley Quinn as a character in general, she’s been so overused in everything and it’s tiring.

The problem I have with this game’s story is that killing the Justice league isn’t given the weight it deserves. Harley Quinn can’t stop making shit one liners, and no one seemed to realize that they were killing earth’s greatest heroes. I get that the villains don’t like them, but they went so far overboard that it makes the whole story cartoonish, and I don’t care about the stakes
Take in consideration that it’s out of character for at least 2 of them to kill people like that. Especially the, I can’t believe I’m saying this, piss scene

@@GrouchyC794 exactly! Like to them he’s a mild annoyance. Even in Rogues, the black label comic book, they never say they want to kill flash.
They could’ve easily fixed it by doing a few things: replace Harley Quinn and Captain boomerang with Catwoman and Captain Cold, you would also fix the continuity error with assault on Arkham by doing this (king shark isn’t actually in the movie, it’s a cyborg looking shark, way different from the one in suicide squad), and both of these characters actually have respect for the heroes, shift the game’s timeframe to taking place 12 years after Arkham knight, have Catwoman and Batman be married during this time (to at the very least give Batman some happiness before he gets killed in the game) and have them have a child (Damien or the more obscure Helena would suffice) have the kid try to get the league un brainwashed, thus putting them into conflict with the team, and also putting themself in danger, thus leading the team to do missions to save them at catwoman’s behest, then have brainwashed Batman try to kill the kid, forcing Catwoman to kill him, this would make his death more tragic and treated with a lot more respect. Captain Cold also would respect Barry enough to treat it as a mercy kill, especially after Wonder Woman lassoed him and he said the only way to save the world is to kill him. You could even keep Harley in the game by having her act as a strategist in Mission Control, because her combat abilities have been consistently shown in the Arkham games to be pretty bad, but her tactical skills are better, and you could keep the scene where Batman impersonates her, and that scene would actually make *more* sense if she was Mission Control, because it would be easier for him to do it.

While we're at it, "is he stupid" comes from a post asking why Batman didn't contact the Justice League during the events of Arkham Knight, specifically after the Cloudburst went off.
The subreddit actually went sane for a couple days when Suicide Squad revealed that the Justice League didn't form until after the events of Arkham Knight, meaning Batman is canonically not stupid.

To the video maker: Sweet baby inc isn't random writers. They're a consultant firm that helps game devs comply with ESG standards (DEI) so they can get that sweet ESG money and social credit. They're involved in pretty much all of the worst game narratives of the past few years. These companies basically get huge subsidies for pushing certain narratives and this isn't unique to the game industry. hope this helps!

I think if this game should have been a Batman based game rather than a Suicide Squad game. Here's my idea.
When the Justice League is invited to the ship and mind controlled, Batman is the first to snap out of it due to his experience under similar mind control devices like Scarecrow's fear toxin. He would then escape to the Batcave and gather the rest of the Bat-Family to help stop the Justice League by using the BABEL protocols. These protocols would also come in the form of new upgrades to his suit like a speed generator to fight Flash or a yellow lantern ring to fight John but nothing to crazy. In his quest, he meets the Suicide Squad and Waller who want to kill the League as the League is too dangerous. Bruce refuses since they are his friends and because he regrets killing Joker. As for the rest of the family, they are playable as well as they will help evacuate civilians, help figure out how to deactivate mind control and even stop a few teen titans members who have also fallen under Brainiac's control. There could even be a subplot about how the rest of the Bat Family want to step up more but struggle to handle his legacy. It could even be revealed that maybe when Bruce faked his own death, he had actually planned to leave Gotham and spend a happy life with Selena but was afraid of what would happen Gotham and the Bat Family if he left, leading to the Bat Family feeling guilty for preventing Bruce for living his own life.
Eventually, after defeating the League, Batman confronts Brainiac, who tries to mind control him again. Bruce is then transported to an illusion where his parents are alive and he is married to Selina. However, he snaps out of it when he realizes its a dream. However, just when he is about to defeat Brainiac, Brainiac starts laughing manically and calls Bruce "Batsy." Brainiac's eyes start to glow green and his face turns into that of the Joker.
Joker reveals that, when Brainiac tried to take over Batman's mind, he accidently freed Joker from Batman's mind and caused Joker to take over Brainiac's mind. Joker wants a run back to try to get Batman to turn into a killer as Joker sees the whole Titan incident as Batman killing by accident. So, Joker enacts what he calls his, "final joke," in which he mind controls all of Batman's villains to reek havoc on the world. Joker sends Batman back to the Batcave in order to be prepared to "let him prepare before the big show."
Batman explains the whole thing to the Bat family and the Justice League as more of Batman's villains destroy the Justice League's home cities. The League explains that when Brainiac took over their minds, he also found out about all of their weaknesses due to study. This means the only person able to stop Joker is Batman since Brainiac's mind control tech failed on him so Brainiac wasn't able to study him. Batman comes up with a plan but will need the League's help with it. The Bat Family first helps the respective League member defeat one of his rogues in the member's repsective city and gathers the respective materials needed for Batman's plan. However, Joker reveals that he expected this and that the final joke isn't the villains but rather Batman himself. Joker plans to use Brainiac's weapons to destroy the world unless Batman stops him.
After all is done, Batman reveals that he is going to fight Joker since he knows Joker best and because Brainiac doesn't have any files on Batman's weaknesses. Superman comes in to reveal that he finished forging Batman's new suit: the Hellbat.
Batman uses the Hellbat to confront Joker Brainiac, and the two fight. Joker gains the upperhand since he knows Batman's fighting patterns. When all is lost, Batman gets knocked out but a vision of his parents appears before him. They tell him that they are proud of him and want him to keep fighting. Just when Joker is about destroy the world, Batman gets up and punches him in the face. The onsuing battle leads them to get teleported across the whole world, finally landing in Arkham City during a massive rainstorm. Disconnected from Brainiac's technology on the ship, Joker is just an ordinary man smiliar to Batman. In addition, the Hellbat armor gets destroyed during the ensuing battle. Batman and Joker decide to finish the fight mano a mano. During the fight, the player gets quicktime events with a quote under it similarly like the finall battle in Tekken 8. Each dialouge comes with a flashback to events in the previous game, with the last quote being "I am..." with Bruce saying "I am BATMAN." Batman defeats Joker and is able to disable the weapon without killing him, ending the conflict.
Eventually, when all of the game's events are done, Bruce realizes that Gotham is in safe hands and that his family is grown up. He gives Nightwing his blessing to remain to be Batman. He apologizes to Jason about how Bruce left him with Joker and how proud Bruce was that Jason helped people in his absence. He thanks Tim and Barbara for sticking be him even at his lowest. He says goodbye to Alfred and thanks him for being his father when no one else was there. He maybe even goes to Joker before he is sent off to the Phantom Zone, stating that he did not like Joker's methods but Joker is one of the biggest reasons that Batman has evolved from a crime fight to a symbol. Joker then tells Bruce that they'll meet someday again and for him to be ready before disappearing with a chilling echo of laughter. He then asks Diana and Clark to look after the Bat Family while he starts a new life with Selena.
We cut to a year later to a Bruce overlooking a large city on a rooftop at night. Selena comes by and jokes that Bruce is reliving the old days. Bruce states that the old days were fun, and there is nothing he would trade them for. However, he looks forward to a new horizon, with the screen panning to a very pregnant Selena.
The two overlook the city one last time before the camera goes up to the night sky full of stars with the screen reading this,
"Thank you Kevin for everything and more"
Sorry this is so long. I just had a lot to say in this area. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed my take on it.
A better story than suicide squad
Honestly this sound WAYYY BETTER than the actual storyline of the game
Its a great fanfic story, far freater than the shitshow we were presented, my only problem is just get rid of the Joker stuff, I think we had enough of that clown. Loved him in the Arkhamverse but this doesnt necessarily need to be a Gotham esque affair again.
Write this down somewhere and pitch it to a studio with a few tweaks. You got my vote chief.
Other than Joker being in the arkham game AGAIN, it's honestly sounds solid. My suggestion is that rather playing as the Bat family Batman has to team up with the Suicide Squad and BE THE LEADER for the rowdy group, this still could be a Suicide Squad game but with Batman being in the helm rather than either King Shark or Harley and of course constantly ignore Waller order. That way we could have unique storyline where Batman was forced to work with villain due to lack of options.

Sweet Baby Inc. is a writing "studio" that notoriously inject progressive ideological themes into video games.
And no, that's not a projection or an assumption. They basically say it outright in their individual bios/about us page. As another downside, every franchise entry they touch has been objectively poor in story compared to previous entries.

They honestly did Spiderman dirty in the new Thunderbolts: Kill the avengers game. It was an abrupt end, and the antivenom bossfight sucked. After everything Spiderman had been through (especially the fridge) he should have been mostly unstoppable, but no, he is easily defeated and killed without dignity. Spiderman would have been able to easily defeat Taskmasker, Green Goblin and Grizzly, let alone Screwball. Insomiac really let us down.

I don't give a shit about the legacy of Batman Arkham, I'm upset that Kevin Conroy opted in to voice Batman for the final time, only for them to do such a disservice to him and his most iconic role. They can never apologize to him or us, his fans, for what they did here.
Luckily it's been confirmed this isn't the last performance he recorded. He provided his voice for Batman one last time for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3.

Silver Age was the best, no matter what any edgy writer says. Superhero stories are supposed to be uplifting, they set an example to us readers/players/watchers to hold on and overcome difficult moments. In my opinion, Amazing Spider-Man was the peak of the Silver Age.

Sweet baby inc is responsible for the diversity you see in Spider man 2, I would say they were involved in the Batman death scene but I think that was James Gunn’s doing, because in Blue beetle which is his first DCU movie after nuking the old one, which is a reoccurring theme if y’all realize. In Blue beetle he had one of the characters say “Batman is a fascist”, so him overseeing this game n Batman getting the most disrespectful death leads me to believe believe it was his doing. Sweet baby inc is most likely involved in the Joker’s character, Wonder Woman, n possibly Harley too.

i’d say i’m a well invested arkham fan, been playing the batman series for 10 plus years, every year i play the full arkham series from start to finish without fail, i just bought the suicide squad last night and i turned it off after an hour of playing, boring as f*ck, repetitive gameplay, i honestly don’t know what rocksteady were doing.

AND I feel like rocksteady knew they couldn’t do anything to surpass the greatness of Arkham franchise so they did this to downplay it and try to sell to a new audience that maybe hasn’t played Arkham Batman yet.
