I prefer glue because fusibles gum up my needle when I do thread painting and quilting later. Also, I often reposition fabrics as I go along. School glue is best for moving things around but takes a touch longer to hold the fabric than tacky glue - which is tough to peel off. So my most favorite method is tiny dots of tacky glue because it will hold right away AND the small dots makes it easier to reposition. Hugs, Deb
