Damn, you are a life saver! I had a weird issue where my PC was acting strange and it often felt like that was because I had two languages. I removed one but it still showed up under the input settings in the taskbar. Saw your video and did exactly like you said and it worked perfectly! Thank you!
I had a similar problem (which happened after an update), but I only wanted to remove the keyboard; I'm English, but have a Japanese Keyboard, so don't want the English Keyboard to be an option. Similar fix to the above: 1. Settings -> Language -> Preferred languages (at the bottom of the language page) 2. Left click the offending language (in my case English (United Kingdom)) 3. Click Options 4. At the bottom of the page you will see "Keyboards" and "+ Add a keyboard" 5. Re-add the offending keyboard (in my case English QWERTY) 6. Then remove the offending keyboard
EXTRA HELP. in case your keyboard layout doesnt match the default, simply add it to that language, remove the default and then proceed to delete the language itself. This additional issue seems to be related to selecting a different display language to whatever is set as input/keyboard language. This video was amazing, thank you very much.
Yeah, i tried this already but my problem is harder to fix than that it seems. Language i got is "Unknown Locale (qab-Latn)" and it can't be found on languages list.
Hey guys. Sorry for responding so late, but maybe this can help others in the future - You can open Powershell (Win Key + R, type powershell), run this command: get-winuserlanguagelist (This shows all languages installed as well as their codes, called Language Tags). Find the language tags you want to keep, and enter this command: set-winuserlanguagelist (all language tags you want to keep) If you only want US English for example, you can enter this: set-winuserlanguagelist en-us
Thanks so much, I had my custom keyboard _"UK Extended Extended"_ , and funnily enough Russian, and for some reason the normal UK layout appeared, adding it and removing it worked, THANKS!
Thank you, I have my keyboard layout set for swedish, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the En-US one it was really annoying the when windows always randomly changed it even though I had removed the language switcher keybind, this worked like a charm Thank you again.
I kept having this issue, cheers. Saw some where I needed to do something in Powershell but I ain't touching that as I don't know what it will do. What I think happens is when you are typing something that looks like another language, Windows may automatically add the language input without you knowing, and when you accidentally do key combos it'll switch to a different language that you may have typed in. You can disable the "switch between languages" key combo, although I don't remember where. Windows can't seem to fix this from happening.
Thank you so much man, you are a life saver. the simple thing as removing keyboard language should not be this complicated, it must have a simple remove button, damn microsoft
Another Solution: You can reset language settings by running the windows powershell as an administrator and type that line of code Set-WinUserLanguageList en-Us -Force then press enter and any input language will be deleted except English
@@kykep You need to do the same thing as they did, you need to find the CMS within the language pack you already have and add it. Then remove it. I can't remember exactly but you should be able to find it. If you still have problems reply and I will check the path I used. Good luck
i had a qatin-latin something german that i couldn't find on the search bar but when i added the closest thing to it which was english german and removed that it fixed it your problem might be the same but im not sure
I am so tired of how lazy nowadays everything is programmed, some options that appear when never told to, then it is redundant when you try to find how to tune everything, yeah Windows 10 has 2 control panels.
