Maybe the greatest broadcast team top to bottom. Second would be the early 90s CBS team. All the stations that broadcasted races had good teams. ABC was lacking until the ESPN crew started broadcasting their races also.
I think this is one of the last nascar races that was any good. I’m sorry but it’s pretty hard to suspend my disbelief when they are racing a front wheel drive body style. Lumina? Cmon. This is the beginning of the end for nascar imo.
I think having less stands makes it feel more open. I feel like late 80s Dover and late 80s Bristol felt especially "bigger" due to their "openess" at that time.
What a great broadcast team they had back then. Thanks for the uploads Mr Smiff!
SmiffTV should be getting rich off youtube before 99% of these people 😂
Seriously though. This channel is a gift from god.
Love the hat of the day segment. They need to bring that back
My 2nd NASCAR race ever. My 1st being a couple months earlier at "The Rock"
See's 4 wide at Martinsville in the thumbnail
Me: Wait that's illegal

Lol thank you for your service though. This channel is a goldmine.
DW! The last win for the old Monte Carlo SS and also the first one to win in the then new Lumina
Strange to say that 1989 was a much simpler time

Hoosier just didn't have the deep pockets like Goodyear
Thank you!

What's the title of the intro music there?
"Room to Move" by Animotion
1:32:16 so glad this stuff has improved, I'll take unnecessary cautions all day if this is the alternative

Why does Martinsville look so much bigger then it does in 2021

Having two pit roads makes it look less congested
Plus the lack of a Safer Barrier Makes the track just slightly wider. juuuust slightly
I never liked Geoff Bodine
