I was there that day. Big Earnhardt fan and it sucked seeing Dale go out so early. Luckily a few weeks later I was at Rockingham and got to see Mark Martin win his first Cup race.

Johnny Hayes sounds so much like a young Darrell Waltrip it's freaking me out.

Kenny Schrader's 2nd win, bigger than Talladega. The beginning of Earnhardt's misfortune and Rusty gaining the point lead and it would all come down to a final margin of 12 points between Wallace and Earnhardt.

Earnhardt's stupidity cost him that championship. There's no misfortune at all. 1989 Holly Farms 400. The dumbass couldn't settle for second place, wrecked out, and lost the championship right there!

Definitely came true because nascar has been in free fall ever since the last turn in the 01 Daytona 500.

@@vapinbachelor289 THEN I rooted against the #3 first and foremost. I’m a midwesterner who, at the time, was thrilled that some of our talent was breaking through. NOW the role is played by Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin. Now if I could just find someone to root for lol....bumper cars at the bumper tracks for rich peoples kids. Yawn
