I'm really glad you decide to play Hollow Knight! It's tricky at times, but a very well put together game! It is time consuming and has a bunch of stuff in it- very worth it though.
Oh and by the way, check everything. Buy things- and make sure you get the lantern at some point. Those charms will help you a lot in some situations, like ones that give you more soul.

With amazing art, an interesting story, crazy world building and a good challenge with much to do and many foes to fight. Hollow Knight has to take place as my favourite game and I hope it'll become one of yours too! (As a side note, almost every character in HK is a bug and there are many secrets, so keep your eyes out for anything that seems slightly out of place and look for cracked walls and tall ceilings! As a side side note, I personally feel like HK is the type of game you need to go in blind and experience it to the fullest!)

"almost every character is a bug" he says all while the character you are playing as is canonically not a bug but different being entirely.
Basically, this game is a metroidvania, and the attitude you need is: just explore around and find out what you can do, you'll stumble on the main goal eventually, and if there's something you can't do just assume you need an ability and come back to it later. Iselda, wife of Cornifer (the map guy), sells pins you can freely attach to the map in any spot, which is useful for marking places you want to revisit larer with better equipment.
Okay so the only few tips I think I can give-
1: Explore- this game is all about getting lost and finding your way to a new place, just look around.
2: Play it safe: By this I mean stay on 3 HP or above defensive playstyle can be the way to go in this game (if you die twice in a row you lose all your money and you need a lot of it in the earlygame for maps, gates and stags)
3: Blue cocoons: They give you temporary hearts that fade if you get hit or sit on a bench.
4: Don't be too afraid of bosses, most of them are fairly easy if you learn their patterns early such as False knight.
5: You do get other powers such as a dash, double jump and wall climb, however sometimes you can also use the enemies and environment as an advantage so you may not even have to wait to get the ability you would normally need.
6: Get the Quill and Stag/Bench pins from Iselda (they will be the most useful to you, the others can be mostly ignored unless you have extra geo to burn)
7: Get gathering swarm for money grinding from Sly, but don't rush on getting the lantern. You will get a ton of cash later in the game and you can get enough money then.
I don't have to say much other than that,
I hope you'd play the whole thing, cuz this game is a good one other than it being a bit challenging at first.
Lifeblood is the blue heats name, some attacks do 2 mask, you can get more mask and soul vessels to get more hp and soul vessels (the thing to hold soul), you can parry attacks if you hit at the same time it just isn’t recommended because you need the cooldown on your nail to come back, unlock all stags for fast travel and the stag nest you need them all to unlock, and sometimes you don’t get soul from your nail depending what you hit (ex, false knight in armor, the ground, etc)
Cannot wait for him to complete the game and get absolutely tested to his limit.

Tips: remember that you can pogo on enemies and some obstacles by hiting them from above
When you fight a difficult boss try to search for a attack that you can heal in and try at your first attempt to read their movements and patterns so you dodge them and even hitting them
If your health is low never do panic heal try focusing on dodging and find a healing attack
Try using spells more often
Try mixing some charms
If a boss is stun use that stun time for healing only becuase hitting them will cause them to get back on their feet
Bosses gets stun by the amount of hits you do not the damage you deal
Some certain charms can make certain bosses pretty easy
Every enemy needs a specific strategy to beat them
If you died focus on getting your shade back
Try hitting walls because there's hidden areas and a way of finding them is to kill all enemies in the room and then listen if you hear something then there's a hidden area
Make a charm set for traveling and a charm set for fighting
Heal when bosses are staggered
I have waited for this for a long time. It's finally here! Hollow knight content!

Dang, not quite there yet but I have about 70 on switch and maybe 10 on pc, but I mostly do modded on pc (which is currently broken anyway 😓) no where near all achievements, I technically haven't even beat moth god yet...

Hollow Knight is an amazing game and, in my opinion, a masterpiece. This game does take a while, so prepare yourselves, as you're only at the beginning. It will get MUCH more challenging!

As someone with 370 hours in hollow knight , I was very surprised to see bijuu play hollow knight. Hollow knight is truly a masterpiece with the music, story, art and characters. It really gave me a new appreciation for games so this game will always be in my heart, so seeing you play this means a lot! Hope you enjoy the game bijuu! Cant wait for the new game silksong to come out! :)

Whenever you find a place with the hot spring and a bench make sure to stay in the water of the spring it will replenish your soul, which is the stuff you use to heal and use spells. Hope this tip helps you and good luck on your journey through the depths of hallownest. 👍
Dude, the fighting animation in this game looks so cool! And the way the enemies die is for some reason eye candy. You definitely played a good choice!
There's alot of dlc content that gets really difficult including a boss rush "mode" that you'll find, also, the blue health goes away from benches since it is extra health (although you can get blue health from charms because it's also technically just health that can't be regenerated with "soul"). After beating the game for the first time you can continue playing on the same save since there is a total of 112% completion in this game or you can start a new one with or without a perma death mode.
Hollow Knight is one of my absolute favorite games and I am so happy to see you play it and I hope you continue this series.
You have to keep playing, trust me, it has an amazing story, boss fights, locations, and more!

Please turn this into a series! I just recently bought the game as well and it’s awesome! Also, tip, that locked door in Dirtmouth unlocks a way to get your shade/soul back when you die. You don’t have to buy the key from the shop since you can find them in certain places, it’s just easier to buy it from Sly.

Tip: get the quill from the shop. It can help you expand the map. All you need to do it is explore parts you haven't been too, and sit in a bench, then the knight will write on the map.
Also, in order for you to get your stuff back, you need to fight your ghost. He's not that much of a problem, but if you keep getting more abilities, the ghost will use those abilities on you, but you will know which one be will use if you look at him.
I hadn’t watched RUclips in awhile, but today I decided to randomly look through my subscriptions and I saw this vid! I’ve been really obsessed with Hollow Knight recently, so it’s really cool that you’ve started playing it too! It’s a great game, and I hope you have more fun playing it!
Really excited to see you play this! Just a couple things though, the knight you play as isn't a boy, they're mostly referred to as they/it. Also, a lot of the fun in this game comes from it's world and learning about it, so I'd probably recommend reading slower and skimming through it less. Just a couple things there, but really excited to see you go into this game!

When you see NPCs, dont talk to them just once, they have more dialogue, also, sertain events or charms will unlock even more dialogue. Keep your eyes open, there are tons of secrets in this game

YESSSSSSS!!! MY FAVORITE GAME! I can't wait to watch!
EDIT: I'm really new to this channel, but I'm super impressed by Mike's skill. I know he was joking around about the "Cuphead Expert" thing (and I know there were probably edits we didn't see lol) but he was doing phenomenally well for a first impression of Hollow Knight. Once people get past the "intro", they're usually good, but most people get really confused by the map system and the spell system at first. But Mike was not only figuring out _how_ to do things, he knew enough about games to know _why._ Like he was putting together "Oh I can strike down off an enemy for height, I'll need that later" (in the HK fandom we call that "pogoing" and yes, it becomes critically important in several areas lol) and he didn't waste a ton of time trying to get into locked areas and just decided "I probably need a new skill for this, I'll be back later." He even noticed right away that the Husk warrior had been training him for the False Knight boss fight. He even guessed right about what would happen if he died. Everything from "Ok the stag is a train system" to "oh I see, the healing isn't OP because I have to balance it with spells" was just crazy fast. As someone who's beaten the game several times, seeing how fast he picked up on things made me feel so proud lol. Like "YES you're doing it good job!!"
And then he got his first death to an Aspid and I laughed my head off. Those darn goo-spitters only get more annoying from here, unfortunately.
Im so exited for this!!, Btw when you finish the game you get the steel soul mode which might be a challenge up to Your Cuphead master grade and also the path of pain

After beating Cuphead in expert mode and getting the very high majority of the achievements, not including the new DLC, Hollow Knight became my new favorite game, and still is. I also have the very high majority of the game beat, and know a lot about it. I adore the gameplay, art style, bosses, and music. I think you’ll have a lot of fun if you take a lot of time to get a lot of the endings and secrets and such. I could honestly go on and on, and could barley contain my excitement when I saw you were playing this. I have just started the video, so I’ll continue watching, and also don’t want to spoil much, but it definitely is true that the game can be incredibly difficult (I’d say the hardest boss is Nightmare King). Side note, the character you play doesn’t actually have a specific name, but I call them “Little Ghost,” which is the nickname another characters named Hornet gives them. The Hollow Knight is a character that fits into a large portion of the lore to Hollow Knight,

and also acts as a final boss to the game. Of course, because of the various endings, you may also fight an ascended version of Hollow Knight known more commonly and popularly as Pure Vessel (the better and much more difficult version of Hollow Knight), and/or one of the other most iconic final bosses, The Radiance, a radiant, god version of the boss.
Hollow Knight is one of those games that (I personally feel) are better to watch mostly unedited. I would recommend trying not to edit much out.
Considering how much content there is, it may be better to make longer videos similar to what you did for Danganronpa

Tip with false knight for new players: if he jumps forward, walk behind where he'll land to hit him. When he jumps backwards, he'll most likely do a shock wave attack so be ready to dodge that.
Most of the boss fights are won by how you move, there was a boss i used to struggle with because i used to panic jump but once i stopped jumping in that fight it got so easy i can do it near hitless now
I hope you actually gonna continue this game to it's end and not just forgets about it like how you did with UNDERTALE

Tip: Sitting on a bench restores your full health and saves the game but destroys blue lifeblood masks (those blue masks health thingy thing that you got from destroying that cocoon)

Before bosses change your charms to a suitable formation, also you can get overcharmed which basically means you get one more charm if your notches are full but the catch is if you get hurt, you take double the damage. Also really glad you got to play this great game.

I've never seen this game before but the graphics are so cute and the gameplay in all is amazing so I'd love it if you'd make this a game series
You can sort of gauge what sort of things you can find beyond a new passageway by foreground and background assets in certain rooms. You can tell when you're about to enter a new kind of area.
Also, there's a hidden path in a late game area with some... interesting platforming. It's completely optional and has no real reward if you end up finding it on your own somehow, so don't feel obligated to complete it.
