    What a Great Guitar!.. I prefer it to the 2004 CS models by the look... As soon as one puts in "Push Pull" mods there is little relevance to the 'Zeppelin Guitar" Gibson with their Custom Shop Models were going for a "Post Led Zeppelin Instrument" This instrument also is very versatile though. It's really nice. You wouldn't change anything if you're covering lots of different music..
    The Zeppelin "Hollow Chirp" Middle sound that is the iconic Page Tone is achieved with a Low Wind 7.5k T Top Bridge Pickup which is quite nasal in Character (Tele on Steroids sound) combined with an Overwound Alnico 2 8.6k Neck PAF with a very Weak Magnet creating a Woody not Flutey tone. That neck PUP is set BELOW the pickup ring to balance out the weaker T Top bridge.. The Phase Cancellation middle tone is still "IN PHASE' and a property of the T Top.
    I replicate the 1973 'The Song Remains the Same" tones on my channel for Page Enthusiasts.

    Love JP and I am currently researching the LP's that Jimmy played through the years... at the end of the day any guitar has to fit you personally it's not enough for it to be legendary in someone elses hand.

    ever thought why jimmy stopped gibson from doing more #1 or #2...
    tried one recently and apart from the neck profile and all those unnesasary push pulls, is there any diference at all from a normal gibson standard ?

    My CC1 kicks ass. I lived in Japan, too. Ishibashi and G-Club were my hangouts. The CITES rules suck, especially if you like rosewood.

    Gorgeous! I love guitars even more than watches!
    Not so keen on “relic” look on anew guitar personally but respect your choice absolutely. Certainly this has been done very subtly.

      I'm usually not a fan of relics on new guitars either but since this is a recreation of another guitar, I'm ok with it because it's done to look as close to the original as possible.

  • @AbstractZombie-ed8fj

    This is the only Gibson instrument I'd really ever want..
    I got to play one in Memphis at the Gibson store in 2006 for about 3 minutes before the Gibson employees got an attitude with me an informed it's sold! Welllll why is it on the floor with a price tag? They were rude,nasty,mean and that has forever stained Gibson in my book,I was looked at like a broke bum and treated like an insignificant nothing after driving hours and states to see that guitar.. But the guitar was amazing! I loved the neck it felt like it was made for me.. At that time these were 6k for the standard run and there's no way I could ever afford one especially now they're selling for $9-$14k depending on the top...
    But I'll never forget that 3 minutes of thinking what could be if I wasn't a broke nothing bum...

    J'ai l'impression d'avoir décelé, dans votre premier commentaire, l'accent québécois. superbe guitare qui fait sans doute l'envie de très nombreux fans de Jimmy Page. Quelle est l'année de fabrication de ce chef-d’œuvre? Je souhaite éventuellement pouvoir m,en offrir une. Bravo à vous.

    Is that a real Page’s signature guitar? Which year is that? Would you like to sell it or know someone who have one for sell?

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  Год назад +2

      So this is a special order by Ikebe in Tokyo of a R8 True Historic with a Version 2 1960 neck (so in-between 59 and the slimmest 60) with finishing and aging like a Page #1, same features like gold plated Grover tuners, exposed bridge pickup, etc, and for the electronics they asked splits for both pickups on the tone knobs. So you get the normal humbucker tones and you can split for strat tones. That often works pretty badly on most guitars if you don't have the right pots and pickups. On this one it happens they really matched it all for fantastic sounds in every config. There is no out-of-phase here but Jimmy NEVER used that anyway during the good years. He mostly was in the normal middle position. The recreation Jp#1 had the pups OOP which is totally incorrect and you don't even access Jimmy's main sound circa 73-77 as a result. This guitar sounds better than any of the 50+ Custom Shop ones I've owned and is totally unique and in my humble opinion so much better than the official run of JPP#1. And no, I'd never sell it. If I was to buy a JP Signature it'd be the #2 with darker colour and all the electronics. But I doubt it'd be better than this.

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  Год назад +1

      And by the way, it was not the only one ordered with those specs. I had to travel far to try another one that LOOKED better but sounded like total dogsht in comparison. There's no two-ways about it, some guitar have "it" some don't. Trust you me, don't buy for the looks, you'll always end up selling. Buy for the sound. I had an amazing looking Pearly Gates. It had the tone of a $100 Chinese copy. Sold it at a huge profit to someone guided by hype rather than sound. For collecting, cool. For playing, just buy a good one. Try many. Get one that has the right neck and sounds good to you.

    Actually, what I'd like to know is, you play guitar, you have luxury watches - what about about magnetism of the watches. They say speakers and amps are bad for watches, and the pickups are magnets, so are there any precautions you take? Do you wear your luxury watches while playing? Are you wearing one in this clip? and also for gigging? Or is watch magnetism and guitars/amps an irrational fear that people have?

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  4 года назад +2

      It’s mildly irrational, depends how close you get to speakers and such, but in general I’d favor a watch with specific anti-magnetic properties like the Aqua Terra or Milgauss as rehearsal spaces can be really tight. Current Rolex models have tech that addresses the issue. Slash wears a Hulk btw. I’ve never had any problem.

      This one is a custom order by Ikebe Tokyo. 58 body, 60 ver. 2 neck (not the slimmest but slimmer than 59), aged like a Page, colour more accurate, wiring is different, each pup can be split. No phase switch though.

    I wonder have any musician ever got famous using/recording with custom shop guitars? gibson or fender..

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  8 месяцев назад

      Famous as in songs we know and love, I don't think so. Maybe Lenny Kravitz or the Black Crowes but I doubt it. Even the Darkness used USA Standards all the way. Many play CS guitars on stage these days I'm sure but I can bet none of the music on my phone has been recorded with a CS. I might become the first ;-)

    Joe Bonamassa is a Gibson guy. Me, i have to practice on an Angelus semi acoustic guitar, relearn the notes.
    I have talent, but waste it. After my comment i pick up the Angelus and practice.
    When i play on an Ibanez electric guitar a longtime ago, it was a match. Playing like Dave Mustain and do some Motörhead guitar play taking power cords.
    When practice on an semi acoustic Angelus after my comment, i wear an Omega Seamaster professional 300 meter diver with a zirkonium wave dial. bye bye, and till the next time Up tick watches.

      Ends up looking more authentic to 1959 that way.
      Gotta remember, these guitars were NOT selling well at all back then.
      Gibson was generally using the best looking figured maple on the back of their jazz boxes.
      The Les Paul models got the leftovers.

      Have a close look at Jimmy's guitar you'll notice the lower bout has more
      flame than the top.
