Jamal Bowman can blame the antics he and AOC displayed at the rally as contributing to his loss. The whole feel of the so-called Bowman and AOC rally was just wrong, all the way around. Why were these supposed to be adults prancing around the stage like they thought they were in a rap music video? It's like they forgot who their audience is. Maybe the prancing around and throwing fists in the air would be appropriate if they were performing for some 8 year olds enrolled in Puchi and Tyrone's afterschool hip hop dance class. They'd need to clean up their language, but the manner of presentation otherwise might be reasonable for kids. But is this the best those two could do to present themselves to adults who vote? I mean, really. Is this how they think we walk around and speak in everyday life? How stupid would we look showing up to work gesturing, acting, and speaking the way those two were? Why didn't they bother even trying to speak to us on an intellectual level about how they would fix problems that are affecting our everyday lives? It is insulting that they thought their exaggerated attempts to imitate hip hop artists is somehow supposed to resonate with me. I can't stand pandering, which is what that whole show was. I don't care that AIPAC flooded money into the race. I care that people who behaved with no decorum, who used profane, dumbed down, slang filled language, decided that was an appropriate way to interact with the south Bronx. That, more than anything AIPAC could say or do or spend, shaped my view of this contest. Good riddance.

The problem with Bowman and his trip to Israel is that the netting story has been debunked and the situation with the roads is more nuanced than that. But because Bowman is lazy and his thinking lacks nuance, he did not bother to find out why. One particular road is for Israelis only because Israelis were routinely being attacked on other roads in Judea and Samaria. So, they built one that could get Israelis (not just Jewish Israelis) into and out of the "West Bank" safely. Not to mention the constant presence of Hezbola. Also, enough with using the word "occupied." The West Bank was won in the '67 war and, therefore, belongs to Israel even though it is not considered to be fully part of Israel. Jews are 15% of the population of Judea and Samaria. So, how are they "occupying" the West Bank. Why is it that Arabs can make their countries Jew free and nobody bats an eye. Israel removed its Jews from Gaza in 2005 and we can see how THAT turned out. Jamaal Bowman went to the West Bank for one reason and that was to create a basis for him to express his antisemitism without being called an antisemite under the guise of his faux concern for Arabs. He's a phony and a fraud and because he is an inconsequential person, thankfully we will never hear from him again. As for the money spent, most of us confidently believe that the mere announcement by Latimer, who is incredibly popular, was enough to oust Bowman. The money certainly assured it, but with Latimer's popularity and Bowman's unpopularity, that was enough to drive the result.

@18:40 Joseph Smith never went to Utah, just FYI. Mormons don't like to hear it, but their church is actually an offshoot of Joseph Smith's church. You could accurately call them Brighamite Mormons, because they followed a different "prophet" to Utah. Not super important, but some interesting Mormon trivia for you ;)
He really didn't run that comment by any fact checkers did he? Smith and his brother were murdered in Illinois, WELL before Brigham Young took the remainder to Utah. Thanks for the trivia, btw.
@@rogacz25 major doctrines changed, location changed, culture changed, etc... It also isn't fair to say "vast majority." The Brighamites out-bred & out-converted the other branches of mormonism in the long run, but by no means was the Brighamite offshoot seen as the clear winner at the beginning. Also not fair to make it sound like there were only 2 factions. There were more than you are probably aware of.
@@rogacz25 no, the factions are much smaller than the Brighamites TODAY, but that was not true in 1844. You are laboring under the folklore told in the mormon church today that is more favorable to Brigham Young (him transfiguring to look like Smith, and then everyone followed him as the clear leader). The truth was a great many people followed Smith's son, and there were other smaller offshoots (most notably Sidney Rigdon and James Strang, the latter of whom is the the offshoot with claims to the original name of the church, forcing the Brighamites to alter theirs). Your assertions to the contrary are not just a semantic difference and my disagreements are not pedantry. You seem to mistakenly believe that some super-majority of Mormons followed Brigham. This is not true. Now, Brigham was highly successful, and many in those mormon offshoots eventually even did follow Brigham. By the middle of Brigham's presidency, I would say it is very clear his had become the most dominant and successful branch of Mormonism.
For some reason, independent journalists have been ignoring Cori Bush’s campaign, so thank you for bringing it up. I know you are East Coast oriented, but here in Saint Louis we are trying to maintain our tiny blue bubble in a sea of deep red and we are losing, so I appreciate the focus. Unlike what you discussed here, the Wesley Bell campaign is actually a triumph of racism. Bell presents as a white man with a dark complexion. Centrist white feminist activists from Indivisible are very powerful here. They previously endorsed Cori, but feel much more comfortable with Bell and don’t see his obvious opportunism. They have never felt all that comfortable with Cori because she presents as an actual black woman and has worked hard, unlike Lacy Clay before her, to represent our large black and low income populations. These same centrist activists define themselves as progressive, and yet have no problem aligning with the Israel Lobby and seeing Bell benefit from Republican Israel Lobby money, and for some reason are not concerned about how that would impact his voting during a likely Trump admin if he should win. So far UDP is running name recognition ads for Bell, but as we get closer to our primary I have no doubt they will go on the attack. Cori Bush is literally the only representative I have ever had in my 71-year-old life who actually represented me. It is devastating to see the Israel Lobby buy her seat for Bell. It should be criminal.

It couldn’t POSSIBLY be that voters found his positions undesirable! No way! It must be evil aipac money. These titles and crazy bias makes these videos really boring to watch.
this is a clear win for fire alarms everywhere
Nah. /
Wonder if he will pull the fire alarm for old times sake.
Bowman didnt lose because of money. He lost because he's a bad candidate.
Very sad to see how big money & bad ethics win.
Joe Biden is perfect example of AIPAC $$ and bad ethics...and Bowman is fully endorsing him. hahahahahahahaha.

bowman's only realization was that if he wanted to be part of the squad he was not to take Israel's side. All squad members are pro Palestine..simple as that....he is an ambitious guy who made the wrong political calculation

Bowman was down by double digits before Aipac came in heavy. He did alot of stupid stuff and there was redistricting. Making this just about Aipac doesnt help if you dont acknowledge overarching problems.

Jews of Westchester county unite!
Ryan shows how uninformed he is democrats have been putting money in Republicans primaries since 2012
Yeah, that was a strange comment for him to make. If he doesn't like it that Repubs have started meddling in Dem primaries, he should have had a problem with it when Dems were meddling in Repub primaries.
Or what about all the money Soros has put into funding local DAs that undermine the law by refusing to prosecute certain crimes. I don’t care who did it first, both parties need to quit whining when the other side of the aisle plays the same games they play. 🙄
Pay attention - he's not opposed to Republicans funding Democratic primaries. He never said to ban that. He's frustrated that the Democrats don't realize their tactic is also being used against them
He’s a Democrat. Period.

Good to hear Ryan and Emily talk about Colorado and Utah. Really reminds me that these people have no knowledge or feel for anything outside the beltway. Will keep that in mind going forward.

i just wouldn't vote lol

The money certainly assured it, but with Latimer's popularity and Bowman's unpopularity, that was enough to drive the result.
this guy pulled the fire alarm to stop a vote and then lied through his teeth about it, an embarrassment

Bowman lost because the Jewish population in Westchester got out and voted. He made enough of a fool of himself where the choice was easy. Ryan and Krystal can spare us about AIPAC already.
Lol when a church splits up into a vast majority and a tiny minority and you call the vast majority "an offshoot"
@@RobBates the different factions still only added up to a tiny minority. I was simplifying for brevity but I see you insist on pedantry.

Get help and stop focusing on race.
Did Bowman lose because of his opponents' resources dwarfing his? Did he lose because of a dumb fire alarm incident? Did he lose due to redistricting? Did he lose for his stance on Palestine? Or did he lose due to turning his back on the grassroot organizers of his constituency?
