A bug that's invulnerable to small arms for which has a weapon only suitable against infantry. Too bad the mobile infantry doesn't have some kind of heavy, metal vehicle suited for anti armored warfare, which can hold crew like some kind of.........tank like devise. Yup, too bad nothing like that exists.......
OH! Or maybe some kind of air vehicle which can hover in place above the bugs which are 99.9% melee infantry and shoot down at them while they are powerless to reach it? Some kind of helical rotary vehicle.............man, with revolution ideas like this I should be working at DARPA!
Even though the real reason was budget, I like to think in terms of the film continuity, because this took place at the start of the war, they were still quite new to fighting against the bugs and hadn't quite worked out their weaknesses, or even had many encounters with them yet. This is evidence by the Federation's arrogance invading Klendathu, and also at the end of the film where they discuss all of their new advanced weaponry and ships for the war, now that it's been going for much longer. Remember that the destruction of Buenos Aires was the official 'start' of the war, where the Federation steps in and takes a more active role. Think of it like the attack on Pearl Harbour. The Americans knew of the war in Europe that had been going for a couple years (the same with the Federation being aware of the bug colonies and creating quarantined zones in sectors they inhabited), but they didn't step in and wage war until they were directly attacked.
actually to be fair there is a number of anti air options avaialbe to the bugs that were not shown in the movies that would make rotary combat hazardous at best. The quick moving air strikes were the best...also the jet packs from the books that most of the mobile infantry before Klendethu were great but the military command though that massed infantry would work better and cheaper.
Only the two live action ones that came out after the original. Invasion (which is a CGI one) did a good job. Wasn't some "Oh my god, this is totally awesome!" like the original live action, but it was still decent. There's another CGI movie coming out I believe this summer. There was also the TV show which wasn't bad. Though looks bad by today's standards as it was a CGI series and things weren't as smooth as say The Clone Wars.
there's 3 live action films. the 2 sequels were direct to video. the first "hero of the federation" had more of a "dawn of the dead" feel with a squad trapped in a building swarmed by bug, trying to hold out until rescue... heck if you've ever seen dawn of the dead you know the the plot including the infectee and helicopter on the rooftop subplots the second sequel "marauder" brings back ricco, thrown in a WW1 commentary (trench warfare, new bug evolution, incompetent commanders, ect) adds some forced religious commentary and tosses in the marauder suits at the end where they curb stomp bugs them blow up an entire planet to kill the bug god before the federation converts from atheism to christianity as the official religion of mankind. personally "hero of the federation" isn't a bad film for a film made on a shoe string with cheesy writing and sub par actors (I've seen worse) just don't expect anything close to the original in terms of quality but okay for when you just want to veg out and not have to think about what you're watching. if you like dawn of the dead then it's worth a watch while "marauder" I'd advise you stay well away from it. watch it if you must but be prepared to be very very very disappointed (seriously just go drink pure methylated spirits it'll kill less brain cells than that thing) i think they may actually be on youtube (or they were) otherwise you'll be hard pressed to find them
The "open area" on top of the tanker bug you spoke of where Johnny lobbed a few grenades into was caused when he fired his rifle at point-blank range through the bug's hard shell after jumping on it's back. This broke through the hardened shell, at which point Johnny "lobbed" his grenades inside the shell of the doomed tanker bug.
um... Johnny had to crack his carapace with machine gun fire and then, dropped the grenade in the newly opened hole. There was no opening or "weak spot".
J Peters Book Dizzy was a man who wasn't a love interest and only mentioned once because he died in the prologue. Movie Dizzy was turned into a woman to create a love interest after Rico's and Carmen's breakup, and died on Planet P.
Plasma Bug is much much bigger than the Tanker Bug. You can see it's size compared to the Warrior Bug near it, in the Battle of Klendathu, before Levi & Rico nuke them.
You neglected to mention that it was Rico who made the opening he threw the grenade into. More than likely by firing his shots into a weaker segment of its armor.
The tankers were GREAT for the Mini game. Still have two going around. Are you covering just the movies or can you cover the expanded universe as well?
I would love to see a video difference on the Worker and Tiger bugs as you have already covered the Warrior...also one on tactics and how they adapt. :)
In the movie they didn have any tanks i guess its because the movie was a satire and wanted to make them dumb..but any other reason may be they cant pull back tanks from the planets as fast as infantry and would loose too much in materials when they are retreating
It sort of begs for an explanation as to why a trooper can get splattered with beetle tanker goop that no only does not ignite, but he suffers no ill effects. Leaving napalm on human skin is asking for health problems, but goop has got to be worse. But, then, why make an issue of such a trivial thing, when there are many more glaring discrepancies with reality all over the place.
How are the Klendathu bugs any threat to humans or Earth when they have no technology and are confined to their own planet? Even the meteor hit with bug plasma from the first movie would have taken many thousands or millions of years to reach Earth
No disrespect bro but RICO was only promoted to corporal because the original corporal had her arm burned off by that tanker bug. Just sayin. I like ur vids man. Peace
Me if i was in starship: Whys the ground shaking? Solider: probroly the side effect of a mini nuke Me; Rs u sure Solider: positive *ground sharking and rocks breaking* me: dude u liar Solider: AHHHHHHHHHHH Me: well there goes solider number 51 Tanker: BLEHHHHHHHHHH Me: Good boy wanna treat Tanker: BLEH Me: go get it Tanker; BLEHHHHHHHHHHHHHJHHHHHHHHHHHHHHUJJJJHHHHHH Me: welp gotta go *Leaves* Tanker: BLEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BLEHHHHHHH BLEHHHHH (Translation: you know what i need to see a doctor cuz dis breath is probobroly why i no has friends)

the liquid is extremely hot. they can melt through the tank/ mech if they get too close. they can also go underground.
MORE STARSHIP TROOPERS!!
IM USING ALL CAPS TO CONVEY MY PASSION
IM NOT BEING FACETIOUS THESE VIDEOS ARE AWESOMMME!!!!
I so want for this franchise to get a serious reboot! Gory as hell and smart.
My front yard had a tanker bug infestation. I used tactical nukes and Scott weed and feed.
"Uncataloged Tanker DNA detected! Tanker DNA acquired and available!" - Omnitrix.
I wish there were more movies of starship troopers... new ones chould be done great pure badassness killing bugs and kicking ass
there are more, and they are all shit.

Also, Sony planned to make a reboot of 1996 movie, and try to be true to the novel.
That's what I heard.

the starship troopers come across a nest of xenomorph
sounds like the smaller one really is just a smaller, possibly younger version of basically the same bug or at the least a related insect.
um... Johnny had to crack his carapace with machine gun fire and then, dropped the grenade in the newly opened hole. There was no opening or "weak spot".
book dizzy vs movie dizzy would be interesting considering the major differences.
J Peters Book Dizzy was a man who wasn't a love interest and only mentioned once because he died in the prologue. Movie Dizzy was turned into a woman to create a love interest after Rico's and Carmen's breakup, and died on Planet P.
The Red Duke Arminius I know lol
Woo-Hoo.....When I feel like Heavy Metal!
That trailer was the best
Glad this is being remade to be more inline with the novel.

I love the tanker bugs, followed by the warriors
explain beetlmacotial (god of bugs) and the brain bug please
How about the weapons?
I'd like to know more about the basic warrior bug. they were always my favorite.
I'd like to learn more about the chariot bugs. those little roach-like creatures that carried the brain bugs.
You neglected to mention that it was Rico who made the opening he threw the grenade into. More than likely by firing his shots into a weaker segment of its armor.
have you thought about doing weapons and armor of the Mobile Infantry ?
how about a video on the Spiders from the animated Roughneck series
Or on the mechs from it
Nice moves. Where did you learn how to do that soldier?
maybe do the other alien species that was in the starship troopers book and table top game i cant remember which one
i have seen all the movies, and love them, but are the different types of bugs different species, or different variants of the same species?
the open point that he made by shooting the shell.
The tankers were GREAT for the Mini game. Still have two going around. Are you covering just the movies or can you cover the expanded universe as well?
All of it lol
I would love to see a video difference on the Worker and Tiger bugs as you have already covered the Warrior...also one on tactics and how they adapt. :)
Whats my opinion on the Tanker Bug? THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
i always think that the plasma bug and tank bug were the same, just show two different ways to attack
thank you for the new video and I have a question if I send you a link to my video when it's done will you tell me how I did?
Yeah definitely
Hybrid Network thank you
Hybrid Network that shit still holds up
RICO!!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!! -MICHAEL IRONSIDE
What about the Hoppers?
The loud house has starship groupers
I always thought the plasma bug and the tanker bug..were the same one
I NEED MORE BUG LORE😮
I want to see a history of the Marita rifle
Mobile Infantry vs Colonial Marines?
i like the bug that shots stuff out of its tail in this film. i don't know what its called though :p
Such an awesome movie. Reminds me of Halo.
In the movie they didn have any tanks i guess its because the movie was a satire and wanted to make them dumb..but any other reason may be they cant pull back tanks from the planets as fast as infantry and would loose too much in materials when they are retreating

Y'know, I always kinda felt it was stupid at how fast Rico made it up the ranks in the film.
By the short amount of time the guys die, it's no suprise XD
The brain bug in the second movie
they are called tanker bugs .. I always called them the lava bugs lol
No disrespect bro but RICO was only promoted to corporal because the original corporal had her arm burned off by that tanker bug. Just sayin. I like ur vids man. Peace
