That's a perfect description.Maybe why I have always been drawn to surrealism. The dreamlike images and symbols are what I love. And of course the color and composition.
Beautifully made video. The music, the transitional cuts, the setting, the featured work. Super! Beyond enjoying the gorgeous images of this video, I particularly liked how Shona Heath talked about other artists, and the emotional connection she has with art. So much of contemporary art criticism is chock-full of vapid jargon borrowed from semiotics, post-structuralism, or deconstruction. Cheers to discussing art in a direct and stimulating way!
she is the most beautiful soul in the modern art … incomparable taste , grace , elegance , depth and compassion for the humanity , is everywhere is her work … probably because work with the fashion industry some could consider her somehow shallow … but look at her work again … nothing more profound … she is what Dalí would aspire to be … no other young live artist have achieved what she have done without effort … alone in her studio diving in her thoughts , memories , perceptions full of colors … wow amazing
@@Arigato_Aj Oh my god it gets better. You kick off with the word Lol, the preserve of 14 year olds from 2003 and then go on to misspell 'Lighten' while calling me G. I rest my case.
Love the world you live in. To bring your dreams and fantasies out on paper then creating it, is wonderful. So very cool. Every day must be wonderful bc its different every day. How grand it must be.
Wow! I though that the photographer have this ideas realised by their own. I do it. I am a photographer. Now I know their is a special artist who is doing that for photographer.
OMG~~I've been trying to remember and find "Masquerade" by Kit William!!! I loved those series of paintings as a young artist but I couldn't find or remember it (other than the treasure hunt). I love her for acknowledging one of my favorite artist and influences which is Dali. I stopped the video at 2 minute just to say thank you after a moment of elation. I'm still in shock. Thank you. You are such a Great Artist. You know why? Because you do great Art work! 💯❤️👏⭐️🎨🎥☝️🌹
i’m so freaked.. i’m taking a college and career class and set design (for film) is my number one career choice... then i get this in my recommended???
Is it just me who is absolutely shocked at the price of the paintings shown here? Like I don't understand art much but damnnn those were crazy expensive!!!
I wish she would go more into detail about the idea of reality becoming fantasy. Is she purely inspired by other surrealists and try to emulate them or does she use the abstract parts of her own brain to come up with concepts? Also I also wish she went into more detail about the idea that balancing act between pure fantasy and making something aesthetically pleasing. She seems to do a good job at that.
"What is the wrongest color I can paint something" that caught me
Well, if you're searching for the wrongest color and you find it, then it becomes the best
This can be intuitive too, like Chagall...
The film production crew behind this video did honour her work!
I love that you noticed and mentioned that!
Surrealism is a lot like never having to leave childhood or evolve into adulthood. Beautiful.

I think they wanted to show too much in too little time. There's enough content, why not make it 10 min long and let her work sink in.
When reality is too much to bear, you find your ways to express a glimpse of fantasy in your head. Creation in its physical form.
WOW. Need to see more of this.
I could listen to her talk about the process and inspiration infinitely
What an absolutely fantastic way of describing surrealism. She is mesmerizing!

what a beautiful way with words 🖤
I love this content. It was so well done and she's incredible. I'm inspired!
Love seeing more women representing production and set design
Isn't it pretty much all women now? ( I'm not being facetious. Just what I've seen)
One day people will just give credit to peoples work. People like you making everything about gender and identity politics are becoming very tedious.
@@vinniegiles374 lol it’s not that deep. I’m just glad that they’re getting the spotlight for a change. Tighten up, G.

Excellent artistic DNA 🧬
This is brilliant and very inspiring to me. I’ve wanted to be a set designer ever since I could remember and I can’t wait to design more sets

Beautiful 🌿💞
Great layout and taste for the design.. Not a easy thing to do as we know since we deal with so many soft furnishing projects in Singapore.

Interesting. Thank you.
Ok I must work with her one day this is goldennn
Amazing really
Aesthetical... I love your works.... Great inspiration.
I want to do what she does but I don’t know where to start...
Erik Satie's dark surreal music in the background.
I renamed the video to: Shop at Sotheby's - shopping list suggestions by Shona Heath
(I bought all of them already, sorry, blokes)
What is the point of adding the prices of some of the pieces?
It's from the auction house Sothebys.
Is this the same person who designed the set for the Gen o cide campaign of Zara?
i’m so freaked.. i’m taking a college and career class and set design (for film) is my number one career choice... then i get this in my recommended???
Google are reading your emails (well bots anyway) it's all about the algorithy thingamebobs
I feel like this should have Florence and the machine music playing . ❤️
Oh please spare me.
this was great!
What is the track? I love this music so much!
the first song is Gymnopédie No. 1 by Erik Satie:)
