@BraveSkylark - Gardening is therapeutic for me. I sit on my little rug, digging in the soil, tending to the plants and I am in the moment . . . for a moment 🕊
I am in awe of and have such respect for dancers of this calibre. The fact that an artist/performer spends these hours and hours creating something of such beauty is truly remarkable in our challenging world.
This is beautiful and inspiring on so many levels. I especially appreciated Bracewell's acceptance of the reality that dancing at his top level will not be sustainable in the same way gardening will be - but both are true forms of natural beauty and of art, as is the arranging of flowers.
Beautiful, sensitive presentation. I love the stark of the interview scenes contrasted with the lush of the garden scenes. Lovely music to tie it together.
I came into gardening through my parents own love of it. I have just recently moved from the city, to a house with a yard, and able to do my own gardening. It really is therapeutic. It can be so many things to its caretaker. Sometimes exhausting, sometimes inspiring, sometimes frustrating, sometimes restorative. It teaches you a lot about yourself. Things like patience, which I have little of, or creativity that I didn’t know I have, come through in the results of the garden. You also learn that a garden is never truly “done” and will always require your attention, which is both exciting and stressful. I can’t imagine being a dancer and knowing how finite, the ability to physically do something you love and have spent your whole life working towards. Best wishes to both of you.
What a lovely couple, William is so articulate and interesting and the garden is beautiful plus no mowing needed. It would have been nice to know where in East London they live and maybe to see the interior too as I'm sure it's equally beautiful
He's the most beautiful dancer too. For anyone who'd like to see more he's Romeo in 'Beyond Words' which is the fairly recent filmed adaptation of the ballet Romeo and Juliet.
What an opera of art you have have a natural gift to be a ballet dancer and yet you can release your excess energy to the spiritual being of your garden of light.A balance to reward yourself and a genetic influence Bravo 👏
Thank you for allowing us to see your heaven in London. I've always loved ballet as well as gardening. PS.He is not a "principle" dancer, he is a principal dancer, dear World of Interiors :-)
@@gardensenglishanddance My apologies. That was my failed attempt at humor. I was making fun of the way an American like myself would react to the very kind correction you gave, “principle versus principal”. We typically hate to be corrected because we think we’re always right, and are at the best at everything. Instead of thanking you, we’ll instead accuse you of “grammar-shaming”, and retort with something like “well, you know what I mean!”.
@@gardensenglishanddance By the way, I absolutely agree with you - I’m grateful to see William Bracewell’s dancing and gardening, all in one very nicely produced video.
I know nothing about dance but William Bracewell could make ballet his lifelong profession long after his dancing career ends. It seems to me, however, that Baryshnikov never stopped dancing but I could be wrong. For instance, William could become a choreographer or have his own dance company. Good luck to him and his partner. I've never seen a ballet in real life but I've always wanted to. But at this point, the world is William's oyster. So young and talented and full of life. There's no need to get into details about life after ballet now. Enjoy dancing and your beautiful garden.
William Bracewell is one of my favorites at the Royal Ballet. He is such a poet in his movement. Deeply expressive. I’ve seen on his Instagram pictures of absolutely gorgeous floral arrangements by his partner, Andy Monaghan. William and Andy are so inspiring, pursuing artful lives together. It’s such a privilege to have a look inside their garden. 🌺🍁🩰
Funnily enough, the people with crappy, mindless, low paid jobs, need something to sustain them too. Probably a lot more so, but sadly, can't afford glorious foliage in a beautiful garden in London. Maybe he could think about sharing?
It would of been nice to see the actual garden, as opposed to him talking about the garden, his life his work and all kinds of other things that I have zero interest in, I am interested in gardens, thats why I clicked on the vid.
What does it matter? You can look past his sexuality and just enjoy what this video is all about. He seems like a really lovely person which is what matters.
Gardening is a proper relationship in and of itself. It is a give and take. It provides beauty, peace of mind and endless joy.

He is so strong, yet so gentle and sensitive. Very inspiring.😊😊❤❤
Gosh, so svelte and even the way that young man sat down at the introduction was so classy and tasteful.
I noticed that too!!

Have always loved William as a (very special) dancer, but now a gardener, too? Just perfect!

This brought so much happiness to my day. Thank you.
My thoughts exactly...
This was wonderful. I know exactly how he feels about being at peace in one's own garden. Thank you for posting this lovely video. DA

Goodness me! What a mesmerizing body and how strong and graceful is he!! 🤩
What a genuine talent..treasure it young man.
Two of my loves…ballet and home design.
Beautiful expression of our love for the natural world and the love we receive when we engage with it. Lovely.
Lovely dancer
His proper manner, his charisma, his dance and his garden are beyond beauty.
such a lovely soft fluid dancer and a lovely garden

Thoroughly enjoyed coming across this channel, and watching this video in particular. Very inspiring! Just lovely.
I could live in his garden ❤
Lovely peaceful garden 🪴 😊 Plus it was nice watching him dance. It helped me to see how strong and graceful male ballet dancers are.

I had a massive crush on him but of course, I got it wrong, hehe. Such an elegant, poetic dancer & a sweet person.

I would think that he could be a great landscape designer after he moves away from ballet.
Imagine sitting in that garden scoffing a scotch egg as they create a delightful bouquet for the jam jar vase....
Ngl I thought him and Andy were the same guy, they look exactly the same to me.
