Yep totally,It's a shame it was so underraterd at the time it came out. I am happy to see nowaday people finally give this game the recognition it deserves. Yes in the story department there was no big twist and yes the story is more personnal this time but hey,you can fight with a giant drill and you play the rapture equivalent of the doom slayer and there is so many QOL feature and amelioration in the gameplay department it"'s hard to come back to replay the 1st game (especially the hacking minigame)
Bioshock 1 for ultimate top tier story experience Bioshock 2 for BEST gameplay and father & daughter moment Bioshock Infinite........I like Elizabeth, but I hated the gameplay limited gun, the ending being confusing even knowing context, but Murder of Crow are cool
Bioshock two is my favorite of the series. It just hits that sweet spot for gameplay where you don't need to swap hands for guns and plasmids, and then keeping the original system for plasmids.
Honestly it is what a sequel should be, just taking the original and improving upon it! And the odd hand plasmid makes the combat so much more enjoyable
@@Guyinthetie I completely agree. I really didn't enjoy Infinite's take on plasmids or "vigors", their concept was cool but they drained way too fast for me. I love the visuals and guns in infinite though.
In Minerva’s Den the ending involves Tenenbaum and surprisingly has no good or bad variants. I’d imagine it’d be easier for you to reach the submarine she’s in along with cured little sisters with the good ending, but with the bad ending you’d need to find your own as she wouldn’t trust you near children. Afterwards she could still cure you for helping her escape after getting the girls to a safe distance from you in the surface.
I wish that harvesting the little sisters would get you an ending where Tennenbaum closes the door to the sub on you, and say something along the lines off "The machine thought the man inside that suit was still in there, but your actions have proven that you are as monstrous on the inside as you are on the out. Goodbye, Herr Porter. I take great pleasure in knowing that, like every other monster Rapture created, you will be forgotten down here." and then the sub sinks into the water below. Afterwards you get a monochrome image of Sigma standing in front of the Thinker, which is once again replicating Pearl & talking to him as if they are back home. The scene cuts to black as the Thinker (In Pearl's voice) says "I'm so glad we'll be together forever, Milton."
To do the algorithm a solid, here's a commentary because this video deserves one. I hesitate to call the second BS (an unfortunate abbreviation, isn't it?) the superior game. I can *easily* be considered that, and you made a stellar case, but for me, nothing beats experiencing this wonderful setting for the first time. The first bathysphere ride, Ryan's little welcoming blurb, the Rapture reveal, Gary Schyman's iconic score, the first time you hear the old-timey slang (in just that perfect radio quality even Hollywood can't seem to be able to replicate as great as BS did), hear the Gatherer's Garden promo, see the stunning art deco and the fifties plasmid cartoons and listen to the incidental music, the slow reveal of the Rapture lore, the Medical Pavilion... All those experiences are so deeply ingrained in my gaming DNA that the sequel couldn't possibly even come close, no matter how good it is in its own right. When it came out, I loved BS2 to bits, and the DLC, too, and I wasn't too happy with those spoiled and jaded gaming magazines that niggled that BS2 was just "more of the same". It's a f§%$ing great game! But better than BS1? Objectively, sure. Subjectively? Not even close.
what an underappreciated channel, bioshock 2 may be one of my fav games ever, but you surely did a nice review along with a pretty good commentary, keep it up buddy :D
Just found the channel earlier this week, and like, dude the contents great, like your charisma and humor you bring to the content is just swaggy, and its even more shocking since this is like your 3rd video on the channel, content go crazy man
I love bioshock 2 and I think the best ending is the neutral one where you choose to sacrifice. The ending is an entire drive for the "made me feel something" Cheers 🙃
this is crazy underrated 😭 sometimes I went into the comments thinking i'd be able to scroll through hundreds of them for extra insight like i usually do, but there's so much fewer than a video of this quality deserves, to be honest. wish you the best and hope this comment boosts the algorithm enough for it to reach more people (also #SigmaIsDaddy)
Sigma I ain’t typing that shit 😂 amazing videos though I just found you and having you keep me company while I wrap this Mad Max play through is a treat. Can’t wait to watch the others
Didn't you say in the Bioshock 1 video that the sequel doesn't come close to the original? So it's weird that in this one you said the opposite. I agree by the way, BioShock 2 > BioShock 1
@Guyinthetie I must have missed it lol. It wasn't a criticism by the way, I just thought it was funny because the videos were made a short time apart. When was the last time you played BioShock 2 before making this video?
Do you agree? is Bioshock 2 the perfect sequel?
It’s a very good sequel indeed

1:40-1:48 Ah yes, the absolute horror of setting traps for a gather, and seeing a random Big Daddy about to walk through them. That's always fun.
This sure will be a ‘perfect to watch while I do work’ video, that’s for sure
Its where I like to live... in the background slowly filling your mind with my dumb words

@@ghostdragon2332 For me it was the fight sections that killed my enjoyment.. was less survival horror and more just fight in a big open arena
And the unlocking minigame was improved

Agreed they could of easily done two ending but I assume it's dropped cause of lack of development time.
Would of been nice though

This up there with Dead Space 2 for me as the perfect sequel everything was perfected in it
Ooooh the dead space games would be great to revisit like this, well 1 and 2 at least
@@Guyinthetie 100% I’d say so
I recall bioshock trivia talking about the trouble they had with writing the story. I guess they didn’t expect to make a sequel.
Yeah we all assumed we would get more of a prequel as it seemed the story of rapture had it's ending so it was a surprise

Thank you so much! Hopefully will slowly get better at it 💪🏻
the rivet gun is also my favorite, upgraded it fully first.
Played Bioshock 1 only one time and never again, played Bioshock 2 about five times and gonna play a sixth I love it so much
Just found the channel earlier this week, and like, dude the contents great, like your charisma and humor you bring to the content is just swaggy, and its even more shocking since this is like your 3rd video on the channel, content go crazy man
Thank you so much!! I'm so happy that the Arkham video is doing well but that people are checking out my other projects it's so heart warming 💪🏻
I just finished playing the first Bioshock. Really enjoyed it. Moving onto Bioshock 2 soon
Let me know what you think after you have played it 👍🏻
Sinclair is my favorite.

You deserve more subs.
Thank you! I appreciate that 💪🏻👔

This comment has made my day! Thank you so much for the kind words seeing this sort of support gives me insane motivation for the next project 💪🏻
Very Nice video, this DLC was perfect for an already perfect game.
Convinced me to buy it
Let's gooo! 💪🏻

Thanks brother! Good to see my older videos are still enjoyable to people 💪🏻👔
2nd game is great but the first game is just in a class of its own
Do you plan on making an Arkham city video?
Was going to BioShock infinite after asylum but after the hype around that video yes city has to be next 💪🏻
Didn't you say in the Bioshock 1 video that the sequel doesn't come close to the original? So it's weird that in this one you said the opposite. I agree by the way, BioShock 2 > BioShock 1
Yeah I did good catch, though in this one I did say that it wasn't till I replayed bio2 for this video that I had this realization 💪🏻👔
