Been using it every year to push mow sections I can't reach with the tractor. Holding up very well with no real complaints. Just keep changing that oil and it will keep chugging along. - Shane
Not really meant for woody stuff I don't think. At least the strings that came with it seem to break off if hitting anything consistently like that. Brush hog/rotary cutter is still my prefered weapon of choice for that situation. - Shane
Since no one has mentioned this, it is a beast for sure. Goes through grass/weeds like crazy. But these types of mowers are NOT good unless you have relatively level ground. Need to step up to a self propelled or use a gas Stihl. (I can go just as fast I think with a gas string trimmer, but this is easier on the back). But only on level ground.
Nice review, I think I'll watch again Friday night with my strobe light and disco ball though, invite some friends over and instead of Burning Man, we'll call it Mowing Man!
The string swap is easy. You have one length for each side. Fold one in half, thread thru eye, then hook the fold into the slot on the head. No tools needed.
Good machine for unknown Terrain with posibillity of stumps and rocks in a tall Grass.
Incredible brush eater! What spark plug type does the 159cc engine take? Anyone know?
Congrats on the homebase, its looks really nice. Cleaning up the land makes a big difference. Happy Thanksgiving to you guys!
Thanks guys! It does and feels rewarding after it gets alllll done. You as well! Happy Thanksgiving! - Shane
It’s been a few years now, how would you rate the trimmer? I see you’ve upgraded your equipment for your property 👍

Thanks for getting back with an update!! Now I feel comfortable buying one. 👍
Will this go through thick stuff like briers?

Seriously im buying your setup next weekend! I just hope it does my yard as good as yours! Thanks for the info!
It's amazing what it can do considering it is using plastic straws to cut your lawn! Impressive!
Lol, thank goodness they haven't converted to paper straws yet to be more environmentally friendly. Have a good one sir! - Shane
Bought a Remington 159cc 5years ago and is no longer available. Just ordered a craftsman 159cc hope it works out.
Worked well for me thus far, will see if it fires up another season haha
