Stockton Rush in one video said if he heard some noise that he never heard before, he would suspend the exploration and return to the surface to find out what went wrong.
It takes 2.5 hours for Titan sub to reach the bottom of the ocean, and if he heard new noise after 2 hours of descent, he would drop the ballast and try to return to the surface. The hull might not be able to survive another 2 hours, and he would be crushed.
That just happened.
As a Chris Brown once famously said.. “How we gonna Breathe with No Air”
I’d give this the Hakeem Nicks laugh.

You climb one of the highest and most dangerous mountains just to go have dinner with your friends 😮 how unfair for the rescuers who would have to leave their families and risk their lives to go embark on these rescue missions just because you’re rich and bored. Btw, you know it’s a fcked up situation either way when you can’t even unalive yourself if you wanted to. I’m trying so hard to feel bad but I can’t. what about that man in Las Vegas that was going to take his son and backed out. then the CEO started emailing him saying he would give him a discount and only charge him $120,000 instead of the original price. I saw an interview on CNN with the pair the day before yesterday. It's impressive how the son said to his Dad "I see red flags in the engineering" then the Dad saw a red flag in the fact that Stockton Rush was way too fond of risk.
@@videowilliams im glad they listened to that little voice that said ‘something isn’t right here’. Sad others didn’t though. I have empathy for everyone but rush. Im curious how in the world he talked the two very famous adventurers into getting into this janky rig.

Why, because lives were lost in the pursuit of our lifestyles in every way and people who invented and developed, manufactured, , improved and upgraded, shipped…. All did it and along the way it was tedious and expensive… painful and frustrating…. Exhausting and yet they kept going and innovating…. And many lives were lost.

People forget the facts that Stockton had a numerous safety feature built in and one was that if the Titan was down over 16 hours it would automatically drop weight and returned to the surface immediately and that never happened so, it should have been clear the Titan was lost and everyone on board was dead at that time. Remember 16 hours and the bolts holding the sandbags would dissolve and the bags and weight would drop, forcing the Titan back up to the surface just incase all the passengers were passed out. So the Titan should have surfaced and it didn’t.
that is a failure to not have another submersible or rovs out to help out if there is a problem. when the Mirs went to The Titanic dozens of time they had rovs not only to go inside the Titanic but to untangle the Mirs if something snagged on the submersible
Intelligent questions interspersed with an articulate and fascinating guest who was allowed to speak uninterrupted till his stories were told. That's a surprisingly rare pleasure in this age of media so thank you, guys! I'm glad Chris Brown's red flag detectors were so accurate. Speaking of Billionaires & The Titanic:
As quoted from the movie-
"Your money can't help me now, like it can't help you"
(As the rich guy gets money thrown back in his face.)
Sad that central Africa turned out to be safer than the Titan's last dive
This is the first time I've heard any mention of 'preserving' the Titanic. From what I can see, there is very little left worth conserving. What scientific benefits can be gained from, trying to keep a rotting hull from totally decaying into the ocean floor, is beyond me!
People can do whatever they want with their money-if I was wealthy this wouldn’t be my interest but to each his own and I’m sure they know at some point they’re on their own and no one’s coming to rescue them-we need people like this ❤😊

I think people can do whatever they want BUT I also believe they company taking them on these expeditions should not cut corners and bypass every testing available to insure to safety of their customers as well as their crew. I don’t begrudge anyone to travel, explore or have a dinner party on top of MT Everest as long as the company in charge of it does everything there is to do to insure safety. If I could afford it there are a few things I would love to do. This group of people that love adventure are how the rest of us will ever have a chance to see or hear about some amazing places. Thru their stories, pictures and videos. I say have fun if you can afford it but make sure you know the company taking you and the product you will be using or in. I know a lot of people are making sick jokes about the 5 we lost and that’s sad. I’m from Mississippi and was brought up not to speak I’ll of the dead. My soul actually hurts for the people on the Titan and their families especially the poor mother that lost her 19 year old son that from what I understand didn’t even want to go but he did for his father for Father’s Day. All I can do is pray for these families. I k ow bad things happen all the time and I can’t explain it but this particular incident truly hurts my soul. 💔🙏🏼😥
I would like to know when the vessel is completely out of oxygen, does that devoid of oxygen cause a change in pressure and may lead to an implosion of sorts? Wish that was asked, no one talks of this and for those of us that do not know about these things, may appreciate being informed by all that have such answers, thanks.
oxygen =/= air. even after all the oxygen in the pressure vessel is used there is still CO2, N2, etc.
even if changing all the O2 into CO2 by breathing did reduce the air pressure inside the sub I don't think it would matter. You're talking about reducing the internal pressure by less than 1 atmosphere when the outside of the vehicle is around 400 atmospheres of pressure. I highly doubt there is any appreciable difference between a pressure differential of 399atm and one of 400atm
@@Benderbot50Good answer. Assuming the pressure vessel was sealed (it had to be at that depth 😂), there’s the same amount of molecules on board…just converted to other compounds). It shouldn’t affect pressure at all!
I wouldn't say more money than sense. People were excited to explore and they trusted the company. How would they knew that the sub wasn't safe? How would an ordinary person know that carbon fiber shouldn't have been used?
