I love your videos and how intuitive you are. I read around the internet and cold growers do well in clay pots or clay substrates that are kept damp. It cools them even when it's hot outside. Love your videos..
I bought 2 masdies during February this year, and potted them up in self watering pots in lechuza pon substrates alone on my north facing window, they did very well in my setup and are both producing flower spikes and new roots already ! 😊😊
I have had my mastevallia for a few month and now the weather is getting a bit warmer I was thinking of transferring it to a clay pot to help keep it cool but I really like the semi hydro setup you have here so I'll consider going with that instead, I have to find a nice pot first but I have a little time. Mine is growing new leaves and seems very happy.
Hmm 🤔-now you have me thinking ! Last year I lost 2 Masdevallia orchids in semi hydro with LECA. I was devastated & swore NEVER AGAIN. BUT I love the flowers. I’ll give them one more go in self watering & Sphagnum. Thanks Dani for igniting a little ray of hope in me 🤞
Cute reaction ! I will be getting masd. Confetti which is a cross of strobelii and glandulosa ☺both are ok for intermediate growing conditions so I'm keeping my fingers crossed 👌👍that it will work for my climate! xoxo
Hi danny! Could you do a video on minimum and maximum temperatures for some type of orchids? i'm a newbie and every site says something different regarding this and cold tolerance. it's very confusing for me and i don't feel confident in what i need to do for phalsw dendrobium, oncidiums, etc. because of this. have a lovely day!
Hi Danny! I have a phalaenopsis orchid with two keikis on the flower spike, very close together, to the point that I do not think I can separate them from each other safely. One of them has two roots, but the other has none. I wanted to remove them from the mother plant and mount them together on the same mount, but should I wait until the second keiki has roots to do this? Thanks so much for all your help!
Hello again Danny! I love the way your phals' leaves are so shiny! I wipe my phals' leaves down and fertilise them, but can never seem to have such luscious, reflective leaves like you do! Am I missing something in my culture? Thanks for sharing information as always 😊
Great video ! I was wondering compared to most orchids it seems like masd's put out a lot more growths , if they are sympodial orchids without pseudo bulbs how does this work ? From your vid. I saw the roots as well it just seems like for every leaf that puts out roots there must be quite a few in your pot! It's interesting to learn about orchids in any case! Thanks xoxo
I'm so glad for you! This is so exciting :) Can't wait for you to tell us if the glandulosa has indeed a fragrance. Wanted to ask you if you could give us a link to orchidman on ebay? Thanks :)
I think a new orchid that I recently bought has stem rot (even though the company said it didn’t have it when I emailed them a picture). I’ve watched your videos regarding it, but what are all the symptoms? How fast does it spread/how fast can it kill an orchid? I plan to treat with hydrogen peroxide and cinnamon
Today 40°Celsius thinking to buy one masdevellia summer is still not in our area and waiting for end of your summer I hope you will not eat your words while travelling through summer on masd
Can relate to that excitement every time I see unexpected spikes!😊💗
A tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Wesson Martin definitely, have been watching on flixzone for since december myself =)

I'm curious as to how long the sphagnum will last before degrading in the lechuza, I've always been afraid to use sphagnum in those

Danny, I have all of my Oncidiums/Orchids that need to be in full Sphag moss in this same pot and it works totally fine! :-)

You should try doing what brads greenhouse does and make a separated cool growing side of the room. ❤️😍
Hi !!!!! M from INDIA, please tell me how to recover a phalaenopsis from 'stem rot' ???? I lost my 6 leaf and also spike 😥 !!!!!!!! What to do ?
