Linus is actually a really excellent boss. He puts himself on his employee's levels, doesn't micromanage them, and isn't a power trip. My friend bought a PC from them like 3 weeks ago, but after being told that major delays in shipment in ALL of his parts, he had it refunded. Good thing he did.

Yeah, honestly I really liked hearing the story of how they started. I guess some of the hardcore techies only want cold dry tech videos, but I don't know, their faces are part of their brand, and getting to know the human aspect of Linus, Luke, and the rest of the team is really nice imo.

I skipped to the NCIX topic and was surprised by the amount of information and story i learned. Now i have even more respect for Linus and the channel itself for the respect and dignity he treated this delicate subject, talking openly about former employs, old friends and people who taught him through the years he spent there. He even spoke about ideology diferences and people he dislike with utmost respect.

Not sure if it was answered but the Supreme or Provincial refer to which level of court it was. Provincial courts handle disputes and litigation in minor offenses, the court of queens bench handles criminal offenses and the Supreme court handles larger cases including bankruptcy. This applies to Canada.
Not quite accurate. Every province has a Provincial court system and a Superior court, the specific name for each varying by province. While the Superior court in a number of provinces is called the Court of Queen's Bench, in BC it's called the Supreme Court of BC; there is no "Court of Queen's Bench" in BC.

super interesting stuff at the end of the show about NCIX and Linus' involvement. I'd be curious to learn more about what Linus was like in high school and his early twenties. You know before he became the boss and a dad and all that. His story gave me hope that success is nowhere near necessitated by your degree or connections and that hard work and bringing an idea to fruition can really pay off.

he is extraordinarily talented and intelligent. Intelligence is rare but not that rare.. a tenth of a percent of people have genius intellects (though imho maybe 10% of that use it). But he understands and connects to people and isnt self involved so he knows what people want to see , hear, know about. That second part is stunningly rare. He's a brilliant communicator.. that part is rarer. And he had quite a bit of luck.

Its been pretty obvious over the last few months every time it gets mentioned on the WAN show that NCIX people had gone AWOL and strange things going off which give huge clues.
I worked for them from 2011 to 2014, everything seemed well, but their are always mumblings of the company not doing well, but they keep expanding product line like nothing is wrong.

Linus, I really liked the part about your thoughts on why and how you moved from NCIX to being on your own. A lot people experience severe stupidity in management but I think are too afraid to jump into their own plans. You had an awesome idea, and when they didn't take it you followed a different path of your own. Taking into account how you affect those you work with is, I think, why you have a good team now.

MADBONE ya but from what I kniw you need a minimum of 25m s download speed for 4k netflix vids or it drops down to 1080p
Just get a top end LG LED LCD IPS tv and turn off all image processing and put it in game mode, total latency is less than 20ms according to google searches of people that tested them. DO NOT GET OLED complete shit for PC, I made that mistake with my last TV purchase. They are 8ms panels which is about the same as any 4k 28 inch monitor, some shit TN panel might be a bit faster but looks like garbage.

When I worked at london drugs warehouse, I was suggesting since our distribution was located in Richmond, I suggested doing same day shipping by hiring a little van, and do same day deliveries of pharmaceuticals and whatever but it fell upon deaf ears. I feel for you. I had friends who worked at NCIX and got treated like shit, so I feel bad for them.

Unlikely. They have not actually had any stock for a long time. They have been collecting pre-orders and then doing drop-shipping directly from the second and third tier suppliers they were forced to work with. So they have nothing to actually sell off. Their used office stuff would be local only and auctioned off by the court, most likely.

Said about NCIX. Got my rig at the Mississauga store in early 2015 and it is still rip snorting along. Good price and good service. Went right by the old store front today (it closed this past summer 2017) next to my grocery store. No idea things were so dire with the whole franchise. The only thing that is constant is change.

I believe brick and mortar has its place, but for specialty shops you have to spread them out and make sure you have well trained staff to create a unique service and offer value. I agree on focusing on inventory management and distribution systems. It would have ultimately helped the retail stores as well serving customers and probably lower holding costs by lowering inventory counts in those retail stores. Good video!

Hey, I know it was kinda a downer subject, but damn Linus. Mad props to you for giving credit where credit is due, all while sticking to your guns. It really speaks to your character in how you presented the topic. I know you didn't go into too much detail but it sounds like you still have a good amount of respect for them as people and I have to say that's very admirable. I see channels like LTT and Loading Ready Run and I can only imagine how fun it'd be to work with you guys. Though yes I do understand that it's a business first in the office and fun second but just from the videos it seems like those two categories are so close together they've almost merged into one. From outside the fish bowl looking in, you've done a damn good job so far in your business venture with the channel, and the progress vlogs just reinforce that. I'd honestly like to hear more of the LTT history now that I know about all of this. Keep up the damn good work and I look forward to supporting you guys now, and in the future. I love the LTT team and I genuinely enjoy a grand majority of the videos you've all put out, keep it up!
Linus's idea is implemented in Ro by emag. Small showrooms mostly used as pick-up points and service centers.
It's also implemented by Amazon. So it wasn't rather Linus with the idea but the idea here was 'Amazon is going to be massive, let's be something useful to them so when they come to kill us they buy us instead'.
