Met him at NAMM a couple of weeks ago... I decided to not even go into talking guitar, instead I asked about family and he started talking about his newborn baby girl. His eyes lit up.... It was refreshing.
He's the most un-pretentious guy.... really humble and down to earth.
I give him a lot of respect as a human being.. Not just as a guitarist :)
Doug was my guitar teacher for 7 years back in the early '80s, and he is the same guy as he was back then, when no one knew his name. He is such a nice humble guy... no ego at all! I am so glad to see all the success he has achieved! He and his talent is so worthy of it!
Met him at NAMM as well at the Led Zep show. He' the nicest guy. It is refreshing to meet good guys like him.

I've met him at Namm as well and agree; one of the most genuine, non-ego-starved, and brilliant musicians I've ever met. It seems the best musicians I've met and have had the pleasure to work with throughout my adult years have the nicest personalities; and no ego at all.

I second Aldo's opinion. This guy is so humble about his incredible playing. And to see the human side when someone who spends time away from the family far too much to do his craft, he had to love hearing that. We have to remember that many of these guys are all about "Look at me." Doug is just Doug.....and happens to be one of the most incredible guitarist's to ever live! I screwed up earlier in the year. I thought while my wife and I were going to Branson, we would get to see him at Opening the Rock Vault. Little did I know I had the dates wrong. It was Opening the Country Vault which, I love music so even that was incredible. But I really wanted to see Doug in a really cool environment. I think he will be there in July. If I can get away from work, I may do the 9 hour drive to see him anyway. I'm the father of 5 sons. All musicians. Thanks for confirming what I thought I recognized in Doug Aldo.

i followed his lead and purchased a marshall jmd1 im glad i did all the so called purists saying its got a digital section.....SO it also has 4 EL34s and a 12AX7 in the pre amp it has all the great marshall tones from vintage to super hi gain its colossally loud and i mean LOUD 100w if you get offered one BUY IT.
