Thanks for sharing all parts of your travels. It helps others truly understand the good and not as good parts of travel! You three are such an inspiration😊
You are very welcome! Like anything, it has its ups and downs. But we love this lifestyle and the places it lets us visit. Thanks so much for watching!
So glad to see that this part of your journey had a happy ending. Looking forward to the next video about shipping your vehicle as this is the first I've heard about the batteries. Thanks so much for all the info you provide, it's so appreciated.
It was a nerve-wrecking time. But we made it and are headed Southbound now. More fun stuff is coming. Thanks for your support and great comments! I really appreciate it.
Wow! What an ordeal. Glad you made it through unscathed. Been waiting for this episode since I learned you guys were headed all the way south. Was really hoping you found a solution to ship the van WITH the batteries but I guess the sailboat is better than nothing. We’re a few months behind you so thanks for blazing the trail.
It's a process, for sure, and not the most fun part of the Pan-Am. Tune in to our next video, "How to ship your vehicle around the world." All your questions should be answered. This video will launch on Friday, September 27, at 5 p.m. CT. I hope your trip is amazing. Please keep in touch with your progress!
I wish we could have. We are over the limit for the size of batteries FedEx accepts. It also would have cost much more than we spent. But it could be an option for some.
Why you carried the batteries ? & how much the crossing of Darien gap costed ? This is typical of latinos, never on time ! I hope & wish everything goes well.

I am surprised you had to take out you lithium batteries. I would think they should be no worse than he engine batteries.
Thanks for the details.
Worse…..much worse……you know like uncontrollable fire if they ignite which they are prone to do…….much much worse
@@chipsrafferty8362 No I don't think so!
Hello, The engine batteries are lead acid batteries and are much more stable than Li-Ion. Thanks for wathing!
So you have to go through all this again on your way home?
YES! It will be a little while before we have to start thinking about that.
You should have fedex the batteries
