Those Bristlecone pines are a must see, they're ancient living sculptures. Go in early summer & one can see their gorgeous pine cones, some are green, but the really pretty ones are deep purple. These cones are covered in a clear sap that shimmers like diamonds in the brilliant light up there. Yeah, that 395 hwy & the Eastern Sierras are stunning. Autumn is another prime time to see the beautiful yellow & orange foliage. It's a magical place. Thx for the tour. Well done video! 👍👏
Thanks Peter - love seeing my old climbing stomping ground through your eyes / videos. Can't wait to start exploring and camping on the East side there when we get a camper van this coming year!
Hey Craig, I've done some climbing there too. I wish I'd found a climbing partner on this visit to have a portion of the Alabama Hills section about climbing. You have many great adventures in your future with your new van, congrats.
We continue to be amazed at how awesome you showcase your trips! The Drone work is elite and to do it solo while navigating Silver Canyon is beyond impressive. That trail is on our list but we will probably go with a group just in case someone gets into trouble (like us). Alabama Hills can be packed so congrats on finding a space on a Sunday! We tried a few weeks back and couldn't even find a spot in Tuttle Creek. Love this showcase of an amazing part of California.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Yes, I've seen Alabama Hills crowded too. I did feel like I was lucky with it being some mellow on the last visit. Happy travels in 2024!
Thank you Peter for another great video! Amazing images of the Sierra Nevada mountains and old bristlecone pines at sunrise…❤️❤️❤️ Anyone who refers to trees as old friends has a special place in my heart. I have been following your family’s travels for a while and you’ve given me many ideas for future trips… including an epic Alaska & Yukon adventure planned for next summer! 🚐💨 Best wishes for the 2024 New Year!! 🎊
@@Famagogo Thank you! That’s very kind of you. 😊 I already took good notes from all your videos. I just hope I don’t run into problems with my Sprinter in Tuktoyaktuk (Canada’s equivalent to Prudoe Bay, on the Arctic Ocean). I am not as mechanically inclined as you are! 🤞
Thanks for the video! An arborist told me that some of the oldest dead trees, logs can be 11,000 years old. Grandview cg best campsite out at the point, mtb to White mtn summit 2005…trained 5 months to get it done
On the back is an Agile offroad rear tire carrier. The other side has an Owl B2 with the expedition box and 1UP bike racks, plus mini Sherpa and DMOS shovel.
Hey Buck, I really do need to compile a list of all this. But here is the ARB dual compressor kit I have on my van. It's worked really well. agileoffroad.com/product/agile-arb-on-board-air-sprinter-2019/?gclid=CjwKCAiA4smsBhAEEiwAO6DEjSqLfeNQXTd7yELZM3FEhoowkkyQwaxDf3n6l886UwVJSFw27_DVOBoCm6oQAvD_BwE

Thanks for that fact about the age of the dead trees.
And wow, what a bike ride! Sounds epic!
What you didn't mention are the many western movies shot in the. Alabama Hills. We really enjoyed this quant area of California.
Oops, That would have been good. It is so iconic.
When you said Bishop I wondered if you would show some Bristle cone trees. They were pretty amazing.
Yes, It was so fun to go back and see my old friends... Thanks for watching.
Hi I'm kamrul Islam from Dhaka Bangladesh very nice video good job thanks bro
Thanks Kamrul!
I like your rear rack carrier. Which one is it?

Peter, what model pump are you using for tire inflation? Do you have a page on your website with a gear list?
