Install a water separator if there is not one,Install an immobilizer just in case your stopped and they try to take the truck, we met two couples that ware kidnapped with there truck so we fitted one straight away and even with the keys the truck won't start unless they know how to start it.
I love this idea. I hope I never need it. But, I love this idea....
Def going to pay these guys a visit when I get my Revel!
They crew at Agile Offroad is awesome. Thanks for watching!
We’re shipping our Promaster from Panama to Colombia on Wednesday (thanks to Overland Embassy). By removing our rooftop a/c we fit in a 40 ft high cube. Removing the a/c was a faff but we had some good help.
Funnily enough we’ve made similar mods ( front licence plate even which has been helpful).
On the fear of thieves front we’ve found nothing but kindness and helpfulness all the way. I know that flies in the face of all the negativity couch potatoes attach to the drive south but it’s been great. Have fun.
Thank you so much for writing this. It's wonderful to hear from those ahead of us. I'm so glad you could fit inside the high cube. I wish we could. We are trying to figure out shipping as we will be there in about three months. Safe travels!!!
I just love Agile off road, such a great team. I felt like I was home away from home as well, the two times I was there. Glad to see you all together again. I'm so grateful I met you, Kathy and George there last year
. Safe travels
That’s great Sadie! We were so happy to have met you there too.
This is going to be an amazing adventure. I can’t wait for this series to start. 😊
Thanks, we are really excited to get going.
Cool, hope you have a safe and fun trip.
Thank you, I will try my best!
Thanks for the super informative video! We’ve wondered about a lot of these things as we get our own Sprinter prepped for an adventure like this. Can’t wait to follow along on your journey! We hope to hit the road not too far behind you. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful! Sounds like you have many adventures just over the horizon. I hope we see you out there someday!
Just to clarify, one can't just walk into Agile shop and work on their personal vehicle? OR can I??
Great question, No, We have been friends with the owners for a long time and they were very gracious in letting us work there to prepare for this massive trip. #ThanksAgile
Did you think about a spare DEF injector? I carry one after it shut me down and let me stranded.
I don't carry one of those but maybe I should. Thanks!
Same! Safe travels and hope to see you out there!
Thanks! You too!
Really looking forward to your adventure.
Me too... Thanks so much for coming along.
Oh wow this looks like exciting adventure. Can’t wait to follow.
It's going to be fun! Thanks for being a part of it.
quite the prep. You're going to have an awesome journey!
Thanks, I hope so!
Remember to have your headlights on while in Argentina or you will certainly get a ticket
Thanks, will do. Thats a great tip.
Great Video….. Safe Travels…
Thanks, you too!
@@Famagogo Your headed down South and I’m getting my Revel ready for Alaska. I love the videos and I’ll be hitting Agile again for the upgraded 40 gallon diesel tank and air locker. 🤙🤙🤙🚐🚐🚐👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thank you for tons of repair and upgrade info. Where can l get that speed censor cover you put on when you did your brakes?
Your welcome, Agile Offroad sells the sensors cover on their website.
@@Famagogo
Thank you
Hey Peter thanks for all the great info. How much mileage do you currently have on your van ?
Your welcome! Right now it's got about 107K miles.
Great! How about the burning low quality diesel down there? Any modification to that? Some removed.....
We will change fuel filters more often and use our Aux fuel tank to skip or dilute the really bad stuff in Bolivia and Peru. But so far all is well.
Excited for you how many miles do you have on your revel?
Thanks, We are just over 107K miles right now.
I'm interested in the Guzzle H20 system as well. Do you have it connected to a power source that is always on, or did you install a switch for the Guzzle so it's only active when you switch it on? Also- would you share where the bracket for the Garmin Overlander that you are using on the front pillar comes from? It looks like a great, sturdy mount! Thanks in advance!! :)
Hello Catherine, our Guzzle is hard wired into our Revels water pump circuit. If we turn off the water pump the Guzzle goes off too. But, we mostly leave it on for convenience. I will have an installation video coming soon for the the Guzzle H2O.
The mount is a ProClip mount. I then made a bracket from aluminum to mount the Garmin Overlander in the proper orientation. It needed to be mounted a bit left of center of the ProClip. But it was an easy project and has worked great. Here is the link to the ProClip web site. www.proclipusa.com/products/805490-proclip-left-mount-mercedes-benz-sprinter-2019-20xx
@@Famagogo Thanks for the link, I'll check out that bracket! I'm looking forward to your Guzzle H20 installation video.
I have the Roam Rig upgrade as you do (960Ah if I remember correctly) ... maybe with the help of your video I'll be able to do the Guzzle install myself! :)
Do you anticipate any issues with DEF/diesel? I want to do the same trip in a 2019 Sprinter diesel, but worry about engine trouble due to high sulphur and dirty diesel.
Yes, that is a concern. But we hear stories of many other Sprinters making the journey with a little planning and preparation. Fingers crossed...
did Agile really let you work on your van inside their shop. also how many miles do you have on your Revel?
Yes, We are friends with the owners and they have been very supportive of our trip to South America. We love the crew at Agile. Today my van has 107K miles on it.
I suggest you remove your website address and RUclips channel name decals from your van. Chances are the thieves could see this video.
I can't do that. It's a part of who we are. Theives are lazy and opportunistic. I think they could find much more valuable targets for the effort needed.
