Home Free was started by two brothers, Chris and Adam (beatboxer) Rupp from Mankato, Minnesota, my hometown. Chris left the group to pursue his own projects and was replaced by Adam Chance ("Chance," so as not to be confused with Adam the beatboxer).
I like you buddy!! You speak my language. GOD...I have just found these talented young men in passedv2 weeks and MAN!! YOU ARE RIGHT!! These guys are the bomb..GOD BLESS YOU!! AND THANKS FOR NOT HAVING A FOUL MOUTH..
In my whole life I have never favored a single band or singer. But for a good year now, I can't get away from these five talented guys. Home Free - these are five extraordinary talents. It's nice to belong to the Home Fries 😁
Imagination is the creative force in the universe!!! Exactly right. The lights that light our world the houses, electronics, everything we see and do was once in the Imagination of our forefathers!
I found these guys last year. This was the first song I ever heard from them & I was instantly hooked. The talent of these 5 men is insane. Together they are a perfect fit & complement each other so well. Tim Foust is the best bass singer in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself. They lean towards country but can sing any genre. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
This is one of my favorites. It’s so good and Adam kills the beatboxing. Chance (in the back with Adam) was doing the mouth harp. Try Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). He’s amazing. I know they were singing on a cruise ship and Home Free met Austin (lead in this song) singing there. Austin said call me if you get an opening and they did. Not sure how they met Tim but the other boys are from Minnesota so they probably met each other there. The most popular a cappella groups met on the NBC show the Sing Off. They all knew each other. They just released Unchained Melody which is really good. Good reaction Johnnie.
It started with two brothers then added others from the a capella community. Final member was found when the group were performing on a cruise ship. One original member has since left and a new member joined.
Each of these guys is like a unicorn. So uniquely talented it's almost magical. But to have 5 "unicorns" come together and spark so much beautiful creation, the odds are astronomical. We are so lucky to be the beneficiaries of their gifts and hard work.
Original group started by brothers Chris Rupp, Adam Rupp beatboxer. Then Rob Lundquist tenor( big beard) Tim Foust bass ( five octave range) then Austin Brown high tenor. Later Chris left and they added Adam Chance baritone/bass. All of them are 6ft or more too. Rupps are from Mn as is Rob, Tim from Tx, Chance Ala., Austin from Ga.
On the Sing -Off tv show, one of the judges was Shawn Stockton from Boyz II Men and he mentored and championed them. They then did a tribute to the group and sang "End Of The Road". You should react to that one!
There are several interviews out there with Tim and Austin, that explain a lot of the history. Brad Stelle, Jacob Restitudo, The Charismatic Voice, Everything Nash all did some. Also Chris Rupp(the one of the founder of the group) has a story of Homefree series he is posting. He also does some reactions to homefree videos and describes the inside scoop on the making of them. These are not necessarily reactions, more of a way for you to get to know the history.
I have been following them for 15 to 20 years. And, let me tell you, they only get better! Each member of the group brings their own special GOD given talent to every song. Tim Foust, you are amazing! I love that great deep voice of yours! Robb, you were wonderful! And ADAM, it is like you are a freak of nature. And of course, Austin you have that great high tenor ! Every member is vital to this group! I did not mention Chance, but buddy you are amazing!!! Together, you sing as a solid unit!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS! THANK YOU FOR COVERING THE BEST ACCAPELLO GROUP OUT THERE!
Personal opinion it's the second most beautiful version after Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill's version. But mostly I find it to be so beautiful because it was broadcast on primetime TV, which is kinda unheard of. But yes Home Free's version is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!
Hey there Kansas City!! This is Omaha checking in. Underrated BBQ in KC, almost as underrated as HOME FREE as a musical group more so than just an a cappella group. Vocals and harmonies as strong as any groups’, vocal percussion and variety unsurpassed.
If you'd like to see what is their creative process, search youtube for: home free I'm Alright. The group won 4th season of the Sing-Off, an acapella singing competition. The video shows some of their putting together the arrangement with the team they are competing against to make a team vs team competition. "I'm Alright" is the theme song from the Caddyshack movie.
Home Free - Making Ovaries Quiver World-Wide. Now it's time for End of the Road, Mayday, When a Man loves a Woman, Thinking out loud/Let's get it on and Brothers in Arms. Brothers in Arms is the song of a dying Soldier. Many "React" people just don't get that and have a manic grin on their faces throughout the song. It's a song that hits us Veterans really hard.
Chris Rupp, one of the founding members of Home Free with his brother Adam (the beatboxer) is no longer a member but is doing a series on the History of Home Free. Parts 1 & 2 are the early days but part 3 is when the current roster all joined. It would give you alot of info about the group. I'm enjoying your reactions, I've been a Home Fry for years and love when new people discover them.
I just found your channel and great Home Free reactions tonight, and am binge watching them 😁 Liked and subscribed right away! I just wanted to say Welcome to our amazing Home Free family, and greetings from a fellow Kansas City Home Fry 🤗
This song was my first experience with Home Free. I was already a huge fan of this song. I absolutely love bluegrass music. The original i believe was done by The Soggy Bottom River Boys. One of my favorite "The Voice" winners sang this song for his audition and I fell in love with that 15 yo kid (Sawyer Fredricks) because he nailed it perfectly. He had a 4 chair turn in like 4 seconds into his intro. Home Free has a permanent place in my heart with this one. Hey, we're neighbors!! I'm in Miami Oklahoma (the very NE corner)
Yes, their artistry is incredible!! The easiest way to get a good start on their history is to watch their performances on The Song Off. You need the videos that include judges remarks in order to get the history, though. It's a fantastic, amazing rabbit hole!! I especially love watching the videos of their concerts! They sound so much the same!! #HOGFry #homefree #homefries
Oh, Honey, you are a breath of fresh air!! God bless you for your outlook on life. I love your reactions. I hope you get to a concert before long. I got to see them in December. We happily welcome you to the Home Fry community. You will find they are good people to hang with. Love your reactions and positivity. ❤
Musicians tend to congregate at concerts and fairs and pass the word about each other. Also they all know someone who knows someone you'd like to meet.
This group was started by Adam and Chris Rupp back around 2000. The group first came to my attention in Season 4 of the show The Sing Off...one of the judges being Shawn Stockman and they actually won. Chris left shortly after the win and a short tour to go solo and they took in the new bass Adam Chance ....they just call him Chance. Adam Rupp is a world class beatboxer. The high tenor is well trained and his name is Austin Brownn who took lead on this song. Rob Lundquist is another tenor with the long dark beard. Tim Foust is the fantastic 5 octave range bass singer and you won't believe what he can do. Welcome to you newbie Home Fry and go down the rabbit hole and take the journey. There isn't a bad cover out there from Home Free. They never disappoint. I will be watching!!! :)
Just had to thank you for being you, first off! Love you and subbed the channel right away. ❤ Secondly, I remembered a couple songs you really have to hear. "How Great Thou Art" & "What we need is love"! Big upvote for "People" too! 👍
Your message is so positive and bright and it almost brings me to tears. Thank you for your attitude, I feel the same way. And, I would love to see your reaction to the Butts Remix by Home Free.
My favorite of Home Free’s would have to be “Brothers in arms”. Have you watched any Voiceplay or Pentatonix?? They are both A Capella as well!! All three are really amazing! I am from Illinois. Btw, I love the “Uncle Tom” hat!!! ❤️❤️
I just love you and your reactions.. Thanks so much for sharing you thoughts and beliefs with us! These guys are from all over the US.. Adam Chance and his fiancee , Sami live in an apartment in LA, Adam Rupp (the insane beatboxer) and his wife and two kids live in Minnesota as does Rob Lundquist (Tenor with beard and glasses) and his wife and two kids.. Tim (the super bass.. sometimes lol) and his wife Jenika Marion. super talented, too btw and Austin Brown the high tenor and his lady live in Nashville, Tenn. Check out Blue Aint Your Color and When A Man Loves A Woman .. aw.. just close your eyes THey can do nothing bad.. enjoy!! Thanks again!
You'll have to check out the sing off show they were on years ago and see them do ring of fire.. wait till the end and the bass note drop by Tim. Great reaction man, see you hit 10k congrats
Need to check out Go rest high on that mountain cover by home free. Really enjoy your positivity and love your perspective on life. We all in this world need spread the love!
Hey Johnnie . My first time watching you was when you reacted to " End of the Road " . Loved your reaction . I also want to compliment you on your outlook on life . Never lose that my brother . Hang on to it dearly . It`ll get you through any hard times you encounter . You`re wise beyond your years and I would love to sit and chat with you . I have a suggestion for a reaction that will take you completely out of your comfort zone . But at the same time I think you`ll be blown away . First you need to listen to the song , " The Prayer " by Celine Dion and Andre Bocelli . Then react to the same song performed by Marcelito Pomoy . Trust me . You`ll see a talent that is amazing . Take care my brother . Peace and light always .
They tell the whole story in 3, maybe 4 now, RUclips segments. Give you a timeline of who came in and when. The Rupp brothers along with some HS/college friends. Its an interesting story.
I saw a biography on their origins (whose members have changed) a few are from Minnesota, the Bass, Tim Faust is from Texas, and the Baritone, Adam Chance is from Alabama.
Another artist you'll never forget is Russian teen Diana Ankudinova. Her latest knockout punch is "Can't Help Falling In Love". You'll check everything out after that.
They've actually been around for a few years but it wasn't until they were on The Sing Off (and won) that they truly took off. If you look at their older music video covers you'll notice the band members are different too in some cases. The current iteration of the band though is also it's most popular highest peak as well so far. I encourage you to look at their older videos too because they've always been talented just not well known. Also since you've been doing these Home Free videos I have officially become a subscriber.
You subscriber, love your outlook on life! Your appreciation of each member and Home Free is so adorable. Please respond to to country singers try to sing opera. You will be amazed!
They’ll be in Hays, Kansas at Sheridan Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus in December, 2024. I think KC is 3 to 3.5 hours from Hays on I70. I’m in Wichita and am hoping to make it, especially since it’s my alma mater and still have lots of family there still.
This is one that shows their versatility. None of these men are even remotely related. Look on their posts in the description box is there show schedule....you'll be amazed if you saw them in person

So nice to near someone with such a sweet spirit, do not ever lose eight or that.,,,,Nay God bless you forever.
I love your view point on the world, thank you for being so positive
Adam the beatboxer has a drum solo out there -- he's trained for many, many years and so have all the others! I smile through every song they do!

Kcmo here too... I wish they were playing around here soon. I saw that they did a show in Kearney of all places a few years ago!
You have the most amazing and engaging smile. Keep smiling. You are a lovely young man.

It still blows my mind every time that they’re doing this with NO INSTRUMENTS 🤯🤯🤯
Musicians tend to congregate at concerts and fairs and pass the word about each other. Also they all know someone who knows someone you'd like to meet.
Love these guys. I have been a fan for years and I am still fascinated every time I hear them. Great reaction
How in the world does he make the harmonica sound?

You missed seeing them live in Kansas City because you hadn’t heard of them yet. They were there in December 2021. Don’t know when they’ll be back
They got their real push winning season 4 of the Sing Off in 2013.
They've actually been around for a few years but it wasn't until they were on The Sing Off (and won) that they truly took off. New Artist to try is LP and the song to start with is Muddy Waters. She is unbelievable.
The guy that's beat boxing is Adam Rupp. Check out his video where he does a drum solo with just his voice. Unreal!. You're doing a great job!.
Watch the history of homr free on you tube. It's like 6 or 7 parts about 30 min each. Starts at the very beginning of home free
Got to check out Tim Foust’s solo single, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Really shows off his 5-octave range.
