I like Mxyzptlk but I guess I can sort of understand to some extent how he could end up on a list like this. He definitely reeks of silver age. I guess the guy who's essentually a straight up cartoony cartoon character would be out of place in the modern era where hero's are taken more seriously. Not hating on Mxy, love the guy, just saying I can understand the reasoning to an extent.
Man. Comic fans have really been desensitized to everything. Don't get me wrong, I think Doomsday gets a pass, and I can see how some would think Cyborg Superman is cool, but there is nothing good about Mxyzptlk, Im sorry, but feel it's true.
Mxyzptlik is a villain who can do everything. EVERYTHING. He's one of the most overpowered characters ever, Supes is lucky that Mxy holds back a whole lot..
This list is stupid. Why are Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, Superman Prime, and Mr. Myxzptlk on here?! Sure, their origins aren't that great, but they are awesome Superman villains!
+William Sherman lol Batmite got a couple interesting stories, but I really like Mxyzptlk, he was all about zazzing up the boring stories because Supes was too strong when he came out.
They'd make for great Injustice 2 fighters. Though to be honest I could see old MXY doing better as a dlc or support character. Also they make his ultimate attacks him phasing into that terrifying form he took at the end of Alan Moore's classic "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?". Now that would shut his haters up!
"Continues to be a failure"?!? Have you even read rebirth? It now is the single handedly best time for DC both in storytelling and funding. This list had so many things wrong with it but this was the part that pissed me off the most.
Super Cyborg Man you can't expect much from people who don't actually read comics. They just look things up and read from Wikipedia. Its evident in their Death Battles
I was confussd as well why they had Doomsday and the imp (I forgot how to spell his name) But as Charley Burley here said they only do the Wikipedia versions of history or read a couple of comic books for their research or they take out some evidence and change it around to their disposal. I don't take it that seriously though because of how their not the official say in things on the subjects and only the creators are.
+Unshaved Malevolence I will agree with Super Cyborg Man with the fact that DC: Rebirth has gone to great lengths to fix DC's continuity issues (mostly the problems brought about by The New 52), but I'll also say that there are still some problems. Also, I want a little piece of this discussion about these complaints with the video: while I'm fine with Mr. Mxyptlk, I will admit that he's super (heh heh) out of place in a Superman comic; Hank Henshaw is also a bad Superman villain, but a very threatening Green Lantern villain (he was one of the catalysts for Zero Hour, after all); Doomsday is more of a violent force of nature than a true villain, what with not being able to speak outside of the DCAU where Doomsday is actually interesting.
another marvel fanboy playing ignorant over the fact that they rely too much on their cinematic success rather then the amount of people who grew up with the company and stood by it. just going to say this now, more people grew up with dc then marvel, and it has been a part of our lives. it's not that I hate marvel, it's that I am at least smart enough to appreciate dc's work.
His father did this over and over taking the strongest genes that were left behinde 30 years (I think later) he became what we know of a monster that can adapt to everything and cheat death he also has a Baters for everything living Becuase his father didn't know Doomsday could rember and feel the pain of years and years of dieing
Doomsday is a walking Plot Device, literally nothing more. He is basically a free ticket for writers to go full lazy. „Writing a Story about Doomsday? Sure thing, just let me waste 9 out of 10 hours with my own free time activities and that 1 hour writing a Doomsday Comic“. Sure, Doomsday‘s fights are a spectacle to behold, but *everything* else about him sucks. He is big, his looks screams „90‘s“, he‘s super strong and he‘s Gray. So basically, he is a completley downgraded version of Lobo. They said it perfectly, Doomsday is the Hulk, just instead of a personality, he has bone spikes covering his eyes.
Doomsday, the Cyborg, Mr Myx, and Superboy Prime are some of the best villains ever. one actually killed him, one has limitless powers at his disposal, another is literally Superman's version of Harvey Dent, and the last is himself pushed far past the breaking point of his sanity!
>Hating on Mxy >Henshaw a failure even when he destroyed coast city and broke Hal Jordan Death Battle why are you so casual? Go read some comics, not comicvine summaries.
Worst villain of Superman is ........................... ................................................... ....................................................#1 Batman
Let me say this without rancor: including Cyborg Superman, Mr. Mxylptlk, and DOOMSDAY in a worst list of Superman villains is short-sighted and completely misunderstands their value. Now you go face the wall in shame and wear the dunce cap. -_-
Screwattack really loves to avoid doing any actual research into Superman, don't they? I swear, there was about as much effort put into researching Superman's worst villains as there was for either of his Death Battles.
1:32 That's not "Kneel before Zod!" Zod. That's a russian who gained powers from the red sun. (that armor gives him his powers) He also got plastic surgery to give himself Superman's face. Which is probably why Kancer both called them father probably. Thought I'd explain that incase people where wondering plus it's one of my favorite Superman runs. I have to admit the Kancer thing was sort of a weak point for me though.
to be fair, i think the point they were trying to make was that doomsday made his original appearance purely as a random threat from out of nowhere, and the honor of killing supes should have gone to someone more established. the idea that they couldn't write a story without having to introduce such a character suggests... i don't know, missed opportunity? lazy writing? i don't hold a strong enough opinion to say. having said that, doomsday went on to become more interesting later on, as he became more developed. although personally, i was surprised to find him here.
The moment I heard Greg mention the second Superman movie, I knew what they would place as number one, none other than... what was its name again? "We called him Nuclear Man." Ah, Nuclear Man.
Doomsday's great! The old Cyborg Superman may have had a goofy backstory, but he WAS pretty tragic, what with him wanting to die but never being able to, and he DID help Mongul destroy Coast City, killing 7 million people and driving Hal Jordan to become possessed by Parallax for years (also, the new Cyborg Superman is Supergirl's dad, and he looks like he might be a better villain). As for Superboy-Prime, yes, he's kind of ridiculous in how powerful he is, but that's sort of the point. He's so dangerous, the world's heroes and dozens of Supermen from dozens of different universes have to team up to stop him. It's supposed to be overboard and over-the-top. That being said, great video, and lots of hilarious villains on here. +1
The fact why the scientist launched Doomsday over and over again was because this was the way to perform Doomsday's "talent". The talent being: after he died by the one thing, he can't die by it again. So that means if Superman killed Doomsday by punches, he can't kill him a second time the same way and it get's worse considering Doomsday always revives!
Seriously, there's a lot of reasons why the DC Cinematic Universe isn't doing so well, but when you really look at the original source material that they have to work with, no wonder it's friggin' struggling!
You're completely missing the point of Doomsday as a character. He was meant to represent the complete thematic and moral antithesis of Superman. Both are Kryptonians, but Superman was raised by a loving family who taught him decency and kindness, whereas Doomsday had a callous father who killed him hundreds of thousands of times and taught him only to hate. When they first fought, it wasn't a contest of power levels, but a test of Superman's morals. They're his greatest strength, but also his biggest weakness. If he had no morals, he could have won decisively by retreating from the battle, flying into the sun until he recovered, then returning to finish off Doomsday. However, he would have come home to a Metropolis reduced to a pile of rubble and corpses. Superman would never abandon his people or his city, so he chose to stay and defend them, even if it meant sacrificing his life.
Doomsday, Cyborg Superman and Mr. Mxyzptlk, among the few villains able to overshadow Luthor. One killed him, other had an inmense impact in the DC Universe (before the latest reboots) and the third is a menace where his powers make a little difference. I also found annoying that the Screw Attack staff remembered now that Superboy Prime was a different character when they clearly made him the same as Superman during the Death Battles against Goku.
Mr Mxyzptlk is a great Superman villain. I mean, he was the big bad in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", one of the best Superman comics ever written.
I have a theory on Nuclear Man's weakness. Picture his way of absorbing energy as oxygen entering your lungs. If you stop breathing, your body will start to weaken and you would eventually pass out. It takes a while because there is still oxygen in our blood. In Nuclear Man's case, his body uses solar energy as fast as he absorbs it. That is because of how much energy he uses to fly around and use his powers.
So how was an alternate universe Silver Age Superman a bad villain? Superman himself is so overpowered that you'd have to pit him against another overpowered enemy for him to be in any REAL danger. I mean, he's even able to power through and survive his own established weaknesses. An enemy even MORE overpowered than him would be about the only thing that could beat him. That doesn't sound like a bad villain to me. That sounds like EXACTLY what DC needs to take their most boringly overpowered hero down a peg or two.
I don't understand this list, it seems to just be an icomprehensible jumble of superman villians, half of which are not even bad villians. Some infact are really good
I always liked myxilplis or however you spell it, an omnipotent being would most certainly get bored and trolling superman seems like a great source of entertainment .Also he was the inspiration for the star trek character Q
I'm surprised The Eradicator didn't make the list, he is powered by the souls of his kryptonian prisoners and Cyborg Superman, along with many other people killed him so easily!
”Mister Mxyzptlk appeared in the Super Friends animated series, voiced by Frank Welker. In that series, Mxyzptlk's name is pronounced as Miks-ill-plik”
I'll admit Doomsday's origin is off, but I'd hardly call him a lame villain. He's a force of nature, out to destroy everything in his path. There's also the fact that the extra stories prove how dangerous he is... being strong enough to beat the tar out of Darkseid, killed a Green Lantern and stole his power ring to go on a bigger rampage, and really, he stopped being an effective villain only when he became smarter. (Except when Brainiac took over his body... that was borderline terrifying when you stop and think about it) Cyborg Superman, or just the Cyborg later down the line... not really all that lame. Everyone else pointed out how he destroyed Coast City... which set up an even worse event down the line. He also is complete IGNORED by Doomsday, something he uses to his advantage and nearly conquers Darkseid's entire planet with Doomsday at the front. And while Mr. Mxyzptlk is a zany goofy character who seems like a bad villain, keep in mind he's someone Superman CAN'T overpower, only outsmart. Also, there's the time the Joker took his powers for himself... we all remember Emperor Joker, right?
I thought Craig leaving was supposed to make the death battle process faster, why the hell is this DB still taking forever? If you hold it back for suspense, it doesn't work.
The cyborg superman mentioned seems really stupid. But I think that character has been rebooted a few times. The current version being Supergirl's father after being brainwashed and enslaved by Brainiac is actually pretty good villain. I like Mr. Myxsptlk but it's true he is basically just a villain made up to troll superman or when a writer trips on mushrooms and writes a story.
Doomsday was actually a good villain cause how many villains that Superman has faced has beaten for good by means of dragging said villain to the end of time.
This should've been filled with just the lame and obscure Supes villains (which factored in a lot), but putting Mxyzptlk, Cyborg Superman, Superboy Prime and especially Doomsday makes this list an absolute joke
Sounds like Mongal disappointed you more than anything that makes her an inherently badly designed character. Don't get me wrong, I get why you're disappointed, but it doesn't sound like she did to badly till her crappy death.
Superboy Prime actually obliterated Earth 15, Took on two lantern Corps, punched Sodam Yat into submission while the Sinestro Corp war was continuing, killed Superman of Earth 2 along with killing lots of heroes in Infinite Crisis. He also went up against all members of the Teen Titans and lost. also he went up and fought against his future self and caused a paradox. He also fought against black Lanterns that he killed when they were alive. You never f%%k with Superboy Prime and his fans(including me).
Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, Mr. Mxyzptlk are all iconic villains, and have all been at the center of some great Superman stories. Cyborg Superman is hardly a failure as a villain. He nuked a city, killing 7 million people, and then went on to successfully conquer Apokalips. And then you avoid real lame Superman villains like Toyman, Prankster, Titano, Clark's wife-slapping neighbor, and a huge slew of others. It sounds like all the 'research' you did for this list was flip through a couple of trade collections at Barnes & Nobles and called it a day.
plucas1 I agree, i liked these villains. I guess i can see why people didn't like some of them for reasons, but i genuinely found most of them scary as a kid to.
you forgot the youtube comment section for the goku vs superman video
Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, and Mr. Mxyzptlk are on this list.
Really?
I like Mxyzptlk but I guess I can sort of understand to some extent how he could end up on a list like this. He definitely reeks of silver age. I guess the guy who's essentually a straight up cartoony cartoon character would be out of place in the modern era where hero's are taken more seriously. Brother Shaw
Brother Shaw lol you gotta give them credit for Sleeze tho.
Man. Comic fans have really been desensitized to everything. Don't get me wrong, I think Doomsday gets a pass, and I can see how some would think Cyborg Superman is cool, but there is nothing good about Mxyzptlk, Im sorry, but feel it's true.

Didn't Doomsday also get a new origin story, too?
Project: Filmmaker they aren't big on source material or actually readin/liking stuff.
Project: Filmmaker it's just their opinions so deal with it
Mxyzptlk has no business on this list, he was an answer to the boring resolutions that bogged down Supes' titles
Dickie Bell Mxyztlk was only slightly less annoying than Batmite
+William Sherman lol Batmite got a couple interesting stories, but I really like Mxyzptlk, he was all about zazzing up the boring stories because Supes was too strong when he came out.
Was the recent all-ages series they did with Batmite any good?
Mister MXYZPTLK and cyborg superman are alright!
Also doomsday. I forgot him trying to spell mxyzltp
Monte Earp
They'd make for great Injustice 2 fighters. Though to be honest I could see old MXY doing better as a dlc or support character. Also they make his ultimate attacks him phasing into that terrifying form he took at the end of Alan Moore's classic "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?". Now that would shut his haters up!
Anyone voiced by G. Godfrey is ok.

DCfag butthurt over his favorite company's infamously bad continuity.

Doomsday is like one of the best superman villain
also Superboy
from 6-3 they belong in the best superman villain list not the worst
they're talking about concept
Both doomsday and superboy primadonna are terrible villains.
how.....
You forgot to mention superboy prime's greatest (also one of the greatest in comics)
"I'll kill you! I'll kill you to death!!!"
*Quotes
apparently he is the son of achmed the dead terrorist
Come on, Doomsday? DOOMSDAY IS AWESOME! AND I LOVE HIS ORIGIN STORY
How he was a baby shot out of a baby cannon and his "dad" did this for decades to see if he could live on a Barron krypton
His father did this over and over taking the strongest genes that were left behinde 30 years (I think later) he became what we know of a monster that can adapt to everything and cheat death he also has a Baters for everything living Becuase his father didn't know Doomsday could rember and feel the pain of years and years of dieing

if #1 isn't Zack Snyder this list is fucked
Peach bro! :-D
That's why I prefer to have Nolan doing the plot and Storyline while Snyder can stick the cinema and fight choriography
zack snyder is awesome. the director of superman 4 did worse
"Zack Snyder is awesome"
Into the trash it goes.
Unshaved Malevolence but he is awesome
If Sleeze isn't the villain of the next solo Superman movie, then I quit movies.
>Hating on Mxy

no, its plotman
Gaurav Ghosh
*SHOTS FIRED, SHOTS FIRED!*
Gaurav Ghosh but Batman killed superman
doomsday is cool

send them to the Phantom Zone
ServantRules
Honestly? I agree. Though the fact that Doomsday doesn't really have much of a personality hurts him as a villain
Doomsday beat brainiac too the DCEU, and too deathbattle
Screwattack really loves to avoid doing any actual research into Superman, don't they? I swear, there was about as much effort put into researching Superman's worst villains as there was for either of his Death Battles.

I always thought that Doomsday's origin was kind of badass. He is the product of accelerated evolution and an insanely powerful character.
The moment I heard Greg mention the second Superman movie, I knew what they would place as number one, none other than...
what was its name again?
"We called him Nuclear Man."
Ah, Nuclear Man.
Honestly the only real bad one on the list is nuclear man. The rest just range from misused to amazing.
Nuclear Man even had one of the worst lines ever: "Give up the girl, or I will hurt people." That doesn't sound threatening at all.
"They could have had Brainiac..."
Hey, you sound like me after every Superman movie. Seriously, Doomsday? Zod AGAIN? Lex Luthor and existential dread?
Doomsday's great! The old Cyborg Superman may have had a goofy backstory, but he WAS pretty tragic, what with him wanting to die but never being able to, and he DID help Mongul destroy Coast City, killing 7 million people and driving Hal Jordan to become possessed by Parallax for years (also, the new Cyborg Superman is Supergirl's dad, and he looks like he might be a better villain). how the f*ck was Doomsday's origin bad?... it's actually a viable reason for his anger and hatred for all living things...
say what you want about man of steel but it had the best live action fights for superman
Disagree with Mr. Mxyzptlk, but I think the rest of the list is solid.
But, hey. Cyborg Superman was responsible for destroying Coast City and turning Hal all Parallax-y.
Mxyzptlk can be a really threating character, and the voice can make it just better. Just look at Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls.
Where's Toyman?! Dude fights Supes with toys!
Also, Cyborg Superman destroyed Coast City and became a Yellow Lantern, neither of which make him a loser by any definition.
Well looks like we know who's gonna win Hulk vs. Doomsday
>Superboy Prime derails every story
Sinestro Corps War would like a word with you.
So how was an alternate universe Silver Age Superman a bad villain? Superman himself is so overpowered that you'd have to pit him against another overpowered enemy for him to be in any REAL danger. The Penguin has a umbrella he beat Nuclear Man.
This guy is a DC hater.
I don't understand this list, it seems to just be an icomprehensible jumble of superman villians, half of which are not even bad villians. Some infact are really good
I always liked myxilplis or however you spell it, an omnipotent being would most certainly get bored and trolling superman seems like a great source of entertainment .Also he was the inspiration for the star trek character Q
huh, did not expect to see Doomsday here, but not surprised by it either.
I'm surprised The Eradicator didn't make the list, he is powered by the souls of his kryptonian prisoners and Cyborg Superman, along with many other people killed him so easily!
i love that they used dc universe online music
You try to make Doomsday's origin story sound ridiculous, but it just sounds badass.
Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, Mr.Mxyzptlk, and Superboy Prime are great villains they shouldn't be on this list
”Mister Mxyzptlk appeared in the Super Friends animated series, voiced by Frank Welker. In that series, Mxyzptlk's name is pronounced as Miks-ill-plik”

Hey, that's the club music from DCUO for number six!
And a little bit for number three's first part too!
Wait... Gruesome Greggy!? What happened to all of your sumo muscle, man?
Doomsday is actually one of Superman's greatest villains
The American Emperor should have covered his machine with kryptonite
I would like to point out pre crisis superman snoozed a solar system away, not a galaxy. It's stated in the very same scan you used.
doomsday is one of superman's most iconic villans
So a terminator that is made of kryptonite....Is....dumb?I'm surprised super man actually defeated him.
I used to think that mongol and dark side were the same person but drawn in different art styles
I'm actually surprised to not find Corben on this list. I like him personally, but he has a large "following" of haters
Worst Superman Villain?
Jesse Luthorberg.
+ ScrewAttack Nice touch with the DC Universe music I've played it so much this ik it anywhere
DOOMSDAY'S ON THIS LIST? FOH...NEXT
Wtf dooms day super boy prime and kancer sound awesome
You actually DID get Doomsday's origin wrong. And he does not belong on this list.
I expected the video game industry to be number one.
Doomsday was actually a good villain cause how many villains that Superman has faced has beaten for good by means of dragging said villain to the end of time.

Agreed
They put Superman Prime on this like WTF do you guys even comic
You guys should do top10 ways a super hero became a super hero
Or craziest ways
I honestly think Doomsday is a good Superman villain he's up there with Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Brianiac, & Bizarro
welcome back nervous nick!
About 3 of these are amazing villians that dc are proud of
I like every character on this list except for obsession, Sleez and Nuclear Man.
King Sim would have MURDERED Sleez...
why does everyone always run too superman? mainstream seriously.. he is 20% creative 80% ridiculous can we imagine something else
Remember when screw attacks top 10 used to be about games
Ya know, next week is doomsday vs hulk.
cyborg superman became part of the sinestro corp which is dope
The next deathbattle you guys have can you have flash vs sonic because me and my friends are arguing about who would win.
Superman 4 should not exist.
It sounds like you didn't do any research on Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, or Mr. Mxyzptlk
Hank Henshaw wad not a great super villain, but he was a great green lantern villain.
Sleez wanted the man of steel to enter big bardas forge
Doomsday and Cyborg Superman are dope.
i call superboy prime, superbitch prime because that's pretty much what he is
Sounds like Mongal disappointed you more than anything that makes her an inherently badly designed character. Don't get me wrong, I get why you're disappointed, but it doesn't sound like she did to badly till her crappy death.
That intro and ending music tho! 👍nooice
You know the long and short of business: sex sells.
my goodness...you literally included 4 of superman's best villains...do you even read the comics?
And now the worst villain for superman is WarnerBros
Can we all agree that the monster from batman vs. Superman was kancer?
Piss off mate Doomsday is awesome.
doomsday is a badass
Doomsday isn't so bad a lot of superman fans actually like him
Superboy Prime actually obliterated Earth 15, Took on two lantern Corps, punched Sodam Yat into submission while the Sinestro Corp war was continuing, killed Superman of Earth 2 along with killing lots of heroes in Infinite Crisis.
It sounds like all the 'research' you did for this list was flip through a couple of trade collections at Barnes & Nobles and called it a day.
plucas1 hey toyman is awesome
plucas1 I agree, i liked these villains. I guess i can see why people didn't like some of them for reasons, but i genuinely found most of them scary as a kid to.
plucas1 Its not a superman story but I'll just mention the Sinestro corp war. Hank's pretty cool in that.
Pretty sure this is all troll bait.
Doomsday was at the center of only one "great Superman story" and then become a massive jobber that lost in some pretty pathetic ways.
