Haven’t seen anyone say this yet but holy can Emily draw. She’s gotten so good over the years AND she’s doing it upside down??? 😭😭 Amazing.
Maybe it’s a curse and she can only draw well when it’s upside down 😂
Kind of reminds me of the janitors as Disney that’ll clean the sidewalk but also know how to draw Disney characters upside down to make things entertaining for park guests
Has anyone else noticed that all the snakes that flatten themselves horizontally lay their eggs horizontally but the blue beauties that flatten themselves vertically lay their eggs vertically? Idk if that make sense or has anything to do with how they lay their eggs but I thought it was a cool thought. Lol
Yeah
they do that as a defense mechanism too! (physically with their bodies) pretty interesting, huh?
It could be something along the lines of how they constrict their bodies, kinda form the shapes of them?
YES
Great observation!
Always amazed by Emily's upsidedown drawing skills. So impressive!
When Emily gets so excited she becomes a whole professional looney toons storyboard artist
Lol 😂🤣😹😹🤣😂
Looney tunes… and donald
I sure hope Disney recovers from the damages of having Donald stolen from them.
It’s going to be a wild time (not to mention INCREDIBLY busy!) time when all these hatch out. I see yet another baby rack coming in future. FWCs are one of my absolute favorite species, right up there with indigos and cribos. I can’t believe how big Jessica has gotten to be. She’s magnificent.
The Pepsi fridge is gonna be insane once it’s set up!!
I've had a heck of a few weeks, and baby snakes are all that's keeping me going.
EMILY AND ED IM SO EXCITED FOR THESE!! I’ve been wanting this to happen since you guys introduce these species of snakes to us!
Congrats to Roger and Jessica on an excellent clutch of eggs!
IVE LITERALLY WAITED 4 YEARS FOR THIS CLUTCH 👀👀 so excited to see the babies in a few months :) (also my name is Jessica so I love that the mom shares my name
My sanity is literally hanging by a thread waiting for all these egg hatching videos. I enjoy them so much!
Emily: flawless Daffy profile
Also Emily: Tweety bird abomination oh God kill it now
I love the way you draw, Emily! Just one note, Donald Duck is Disney not Looney Tunes. 😉 Congratulations on the babies!
Came here for this comment
It’s Daffy duck, not Donald.... tsss 😉
@@cathyb1273 They did two different ducks
I was going to say the same thing. I was like wait a second!!....is that donald....? Maybe we can just pretend its a new and different character lol
@@Fluffaloo It's actually Daffy Duck, not Donald. Both Looney Tunes and Disney have duck characters
I'm looking forward to seeing how the new incubator is constructed. Many years ago now, I had a *terrible* job of monitoring an "oven" that was supposed to maintain a constant temperature, but which utterly failed to do that. The basic problems with it were: (1) it had very poor internal air circulation; (2) its temperature sensor was placed right by where large room-temperature objects were added, at the center of the "oven"; (3) its heating elements were around the edges of the "oven". When an item was added to the oven, the sensor detected the drop in temperature, and the heaters were turned on. But because the air circulation was poor, it took a long time for the heat to get to the center, while the heaters were cranked higher and higher. Eventually, the wave of heat hit the sensor, by which time the rest of the oven was far too hot. That turned the heaters off, and they stayed off until the wave of coldness reached the sensor. A system that was supposed to maintain a temperature to within 0.1°C (0.18°F) instead fluctuated by upwards of 10°C (18°F). I spent most of my working hours sitting there trying to second-guess the temperature control system, because we weren't allowed to modify the oven in any way.
That sounds like a nightmare. Both in the general failure of the oven, but also in the engineering requirement of getting a consistent temp but not putting heating elements anywhere but the edges.
@@isabelmcgaugh711 In my final report on the thing, I commented something along the lines of how it was claimed to maintain temperatures as "steady as a rock", but had been built in California.
My own situation was complicated by the setup being in a "clean room": dust-free, etc., all of us suited up in total body coverings. I wasn't allowed to bring in books, as they carried lint; laptops and mobile devices didn't really exist at the time; I wasn't allowed to bring in sound-playing gear as it might obscure any emergency announcements over the P.A. system. So for about 3½ days out of 5, my job was literally to sit and watch the oven bake, in a small room with humming equipment, and to tweak its temperature controller every 30 or 45 minutes to try to trick it into keeping a constant temperature. I fell asleep on the job several times. The problem and its solution were obvious by my third day on the project: we should have installed small fans inside the thing. But I was told that we must not modify it from how it was delivered to us.
Odd question...what do you do with your used perlite? I'm thinking because there are a lot of garden pests that avoid areas that smell of snake, you could bag it up for people who like to garden. Build soil structure and repel voles and moles and the like... I was thinking the first batch of eggs should be soda themed, to go with the repurposing of the soda machine...but with those names, yer, the loony tunes theme goes better.
That's a pretty good idea, but my question is- How long would the smell stay on the perlite?
@@alyssa_._7861 Probably not for long, but the soil structure building would last
I like the idea, but there's a risk of mold or bacterial contamination if you don't sterilize the perlite before adding it to a garden. It's along the same issue with composting pet waste; we can't reliably kill all the possible microorganisms in the poop that could cause problems if exposed to our food via farms.
I think an ink-on-egg experiment would be a great thing work on for next season. Knowing how ink affects hatch rates would be good for other breeders to see and consider.
Edit: please be respectful to other’s opinions below.
I don't like the drawings on the eggs! Even if they are not toxic to use. For me, it feels respectless to draw on living things
@@kattiew1133 the word you're looking for is disrespectful not respectless
@@kattiew1133 I think they draw so if an egg rolls during incubation, they’ll be able to roll it back right-way up. Personally, I don’t mind a simple “x” but many viewers on this channel are children. The pictures probably help kids get emotionally invested in these animals.
@@kattiew1133 i mean the drawings do serve a purpose though… it’s to keep the eggs oriented the right way up if they were to roll/fall so the baby snake doesn’t drown in the fluid of the egg. breeders normally mark them with an X but why not have a bit more fun with it? the snakes don’t care lol
The only thing is that they would need to do this experiment with A LOT of eggs to actually get a correct experiment. And they'd have to use the same type of snake eggs as well. They couldn't just do one clutch since there's a chance that those eggs could all go bad.
Those water cobras are so pretty I can't wait to see the eggs hatch!
So exciting! Emily’s ability to draw upside down is impressive!
Emily, I've noticed as well as many others, that (YOU) most definitely have an artistic talent that you've been gifted with. Your free handed sketches are remarkable little pieces of work, as your able to use the shells as a beautiful canvas.
I've been painting and drawing since early childhood, so I couldn't wait to comment on how your able to have fun, share and incorporate art into your life work. Amazing!
("Thanks Guys!")
I was just watching the video of Chloe’s tank upgrade from 4 years ago as I was missing you guys. Congratulations xx
8:47 - YAAAAAAY, IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!! Let's all celebrate big time, this is a huge step forward!!
Also it is INCREDIBLY impressive how good Emily's drawings are! Taz looks like it was done by a legit art professional!!
I mean, you could potentially have an egg station attached to the side of the new incubator plus some custom egg trays to display the eggs to the public as well as easy monitoring access, so you don't always have to open it up
Do you ever raise Mountain king snakes
I’ve watched you since i was 8, you inspired me to get a snake, which i got!! i’ve been learning about reptiles more and more. thank you for letting me find my comfort animals, my corn snake is about 2 years old now and words can’t describe how much i love him. i’ve just gotta say to both of you congratulations on everything you’ve done over these years!! and thank you most importantly for inspiring lots of others including me ❤
Emily you draw better upside down than I do right side up 😂 also for the ink experiment you could always use the used eggs from the hatched babies. Just keep the eggs moistened and you would be able to see the effect it has on the inside of the egg faster and wouldn’t potentially harm babies
I don’t think that would work though, because they want to know how it will affect them during development. It’s clear at this point that small sections of ink don’t make a difference, but large sections might. And a hatched egg just wouldn’t really give any useful information
Just caught a baby snake on my porch and brought it to my backyard woods, your channel has given me the confidence to respectfully and safely transport black racers out of my stuff!
I caught 2 gray rat snakes this week that were in my house with meat tongs! They were only 9 or so inches and were also placed in a better location behind my house.
I love this for you guys, you've come so far you should be so proud. 💗
It's been three years since I discovered this channel and it's still feeding my obsession with snakes! :)
Those are the best labeling you have ever done!!!! Tax and Marvin are perfect!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh I can't wait to see the babies! False Water Cobras are one of my dream snakes - they're so cool - and I'm so excited to see you guys work with them until the day I can get one of my own. ❤
Aww, this is a great example of compersion - joy at other's joy, the opposite of jealousy. I am happy that you're happy! This isn't a particularly unusual clutch, but to know that you have been working on it for years and it brings you such joy, is a joy in itself :)
Oh what a lovely end to a pretty great day, my absolute dream snake, I am so happy for you guys you have been so patient working on this breeding project!! I cannot wait to see the sassy little noodles when they hatch, I think the eggs are so large because they have to contain so much personality! Sending out love to the whole snake fam
Emily does not give herself the credit she deserves when it comes to drawing upsidedown themes on a tiny surface and not a normal canvas . Lol she is actually very creative. N talented in so many ways 😍
Omg one of my favorite species :0 Also Im so exited to see you guys succesfully incubating the egg clumps together
I loved the new colored drawings! Thanks for that fan that sent u the new markers. Stay hyped to draw in the eggs, that was fun!
Literally been waiting 4+ years!! These are my favorite species you own and I’m so excited to see the babies ❤️ Hoping to get one of my own in a couple years
I don't think I'll ever get tired of the laying/hatching videos
Love your videos guys! Tbh the egg hatching videos are always my favorite but these kinds are a close second for me :)
I love watching you doodle on each egg. This clutch/theme is my favorite.
So excited for you guys.
I am terrified of snakes but I love this channel, the baby snakes are so cute 😍 love from Wales xx
im sorry but emilys artistic abilities never cease to amaze me. and upside down?! please im crying 😭
This is interesting. I love how the false water cobra is trying to eat them while they look at the eggs. That is a lot of eggs and I guess they have a unique thing with their eggs with the yellow tint. Yes! Looney toons, one of my favorite shows. At least you had some extra perlite. At least you got a backup bin for a different clutch. Just wow Emily, using your phone for looney toons. So we got Tweety, roadrunner, daffy, bugs, the Rooster, porky, the skunk, the intro, Tasmanian devil, the cat selever, and our martian guy. And also someone who looks like Donald Duck for some odd reason. nice to see the new incubator is up and running mostly
The skunk is Pepe le pew 😂❤️
The Rooster's name is Foghorn Leghorn, The Martian is Marvin the Martian, and It's Selvester for the cat, but i'm sure that's just a misspelling. :3
yeah, Donald isn’t in Looney Tunes. It’s Disney ??
@@karen_3 Donald is Disney so I'm not sure how the other duck on the egg looks like Donald
Oh wow! That was so nice of them to send all those colored sharpies!! Hopefully we'll be seeing more colorful eggs!!
i've been binge-watching you guys for the last few days and just watched this without checking the date then got sad when I couldn't find a hatch video afraid the eggs weren't fertile. I'm so happy I just missed the date! Congrats!!
Omg they look so good Emily's art skills are improving massively
OK so: Roger and Jessica are named after characters from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and those characters are "toons", but not Looney Tunes. Both Looney Tunes and Disney characters do appear in the movie, as it was a joint venture between Warner Brothers and Disney. Donald and Daffy got equal screen time as part of the agreement. In summary, calling it a "Looney Tunes theme" clutch based on two characters who are not Looney Tunes is somewhat misleading, however including Donald Duck is appropriate given he does appear in the movie they are actually referencing.
oh my god... CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! Thats awesome!!!!!! I cant wait for super sassy cobras! This clutch and all the other randoms will be so EXITING!!
Hey guys , happy 1st anniversary. I’m loving how many babies there are this year. I found you at last years build off thru Dav and have binge watched. Well yesterday I found 1 I hadn’t seen b4 and Ed had long blonde hair 😱 who knew. The snake cake was brilliant ( until Emily broke it😂) . Love you guys xx
That taz and daffy drawing was spot on 👌
OMG you totally drew Donald... Why do I feel that was an... easter egg for us to catch. Hahahahaha
I love seeing you guys always working towards whats best for all of your animals!
I’ve been waiting for this as long as you guys have I’m so excited and can’t wait to see them hatch
That's amazing! been waiting to see the False Water snake lay it's eggs, and now they are here!😊💕
It's so crazy for me to see y'all free-handling the FWC! I know they're rear-fanged like a hoggie, but when I learned how to handle zoo snakes we used our FWC and treated her just the same as our eastern diamondback!
Well that wasn't necessary..also completely differently structured snakes.
Yesss so happy to see false water eggs!!! Ever since I saw the first vid of them on the channel they've become a dream snake I love their shape and patterns so much! Can't wait to see them hatch!!!
And snake descovey I love you guys so much
The drawings are so good! I love the dashes, feels more like a cartoon drawing~ Also the fact that they were all done upside down is just impressive. What can you not do Emily 😍
OMG I remember when the unboxing video came out it is so crazy and cool to see her breeding now!!!
Are you sure? She captioned on screen that that unboxing never actually happened
@@luwildy I remember watching the false water cobra unboxing. I may have recalled incorrectly which snake was unboxed but I am sure I saw the FWC unboxing
@@lilypotter5123 i believe it mightve been the male there was a community post asking about it i just dont entirely remember
The incubator is FINALLY DONE! Yes! Can’t wait till that video comes out 😁
Science Experiment Idea!
For a large clutch of eggs could you two consider doing a "tickling" experiment? It's been mentioned multiple times that the first babies out of the egg stimulate others to get out of the egg by slithering on top of their shells. All Ed/Emily would need to do is use either their finger/a tool to caress the eggs around their planned hatch date. I'm thinking half tickled and half not. To make it a valid expirement they'd need to be incubated at the same temp/be on the same rack level.
Very curious to the outcome!!!
I can’t wait to see the babies. So glad for you guys. It’s been an awsome year for eggs.
Yay! I love fwc's
🥇
You were first cg!
Omg! So awesome!
Also Emily did a fantastic job drawing the looney tools. I could tell each one before she was finished!
Did you draw Donald Duck or am I just seeing things there lol So excited for your eggies! Congratulations
Glad I’m not the only one who saw that. Lol.
Wonder why would she draw Donald Duck!! Mistake?? 🤔
@@bonieyrp791 I'm probably just mistaking it but it looked like Donald above Daffy lol
@@Izanami037 same! Maybe I'm not crazy then 😂
Easter egg??
To me, the most intriguing part of all this is that Emily drawing all these upside down! I notice you do that a lot and it’s very impressive
WAIT WHAT!!! AAAHHHHHHHHH I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOUS!!!!!!!!!
Okay Mabye don’t wright your comment so fast 😅
oh, the big incubator in work!!, nice good work
great vid u guys r awsome
Congrats on the eggs guys! Also I'm so happy that you chose to draw Marvin the Martian, because he's my favourite Looney Tune!🙂
Oh wow, hardly any comments~👀
I can’t believe there’s false water cobra eggies, so many eggs! Love how many eggs have come this year, especially with the incubator struggles. FEISTY mama, sheesh~😅
I loved the Looney Tunes theme so much! The way Emily colored is actually real smart and an actual art technique for shading, particularly with the Tasmanian Devil, so good on her. I can’t wait for the FWC to hatch, wonder how they’ll act!😁
I wonder why there wasn’t a *read more* option on this
You guy's are so interesting to me.. I found this channel by looking at the Florida everglades . Came across your video. So very interesting and your enthusiasm keeps me interested 🙂.
i don't think that experiment would say a lot though, the number of eggs would be way too small to say whether the ink did something or not, you would need to divide the clutch for the control group, and how many eggs would that leave? then you would need everything else to be the same, which is already hard and we've all seen some snakes survive the odds, and one clutch maybe just had good or bad luck, so technically you need to do that with a lot of clutches, and the same ink, the exact same amount etc. (and given how many different pens you use, that would already be useless information for you in the future)
i mean i'm sure sharpies are not improving the health of the snakes, a lot of sharpies already get tested and often don't even have nice results for human contact, you could maybe try to find if breeders who don't mark their eggs have an higher average survival rate of their clutches though, would at least be a hint towards how much it affects snake eggs and just as reliable as your own experiment i suppose
Congratulations. It's impressive how good Emily can draw....upside down!!!!
Funny thing is, you did unbox a female false water cobra female. I don’t recall which video it was.
And I’m jealous of whom ever gets these babies. I want a breeding pair of falsies.
Awesome~👍
I hope they all hatch successfully~
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
It's awesome that you two are able to (hopefully) hatch false waters! ............ ......... Is it just me or the character drawn at 7:13 looks like Donald Duck?
It is Donald, but he can come along since both were in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".
Thank you for doing the loony toons me and my grandad sat down and watched it when I was 2 and then he passed and your bringing back so good memories
It was his fav show btw
I haven't seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit since I was a kid. I remembered there being an attraction in Disney World for it so I was very confused as why you were drawing Looney Tunes on eggs from a Disney theme couple. I really didn't remember what happened in that movie. In case anyone needs to know Spielberg and company negotiated with Warner Brothers to have the Looney Tunes appear in the Disney released movie. Cool huh? I need to revisit some childhood memories.
Basically someone wants to build a freeway where Toon Town is, and in order to try to do that he murders the guy that owns it, framing Roger Rabbit for the murder in the process.
Part of the deal was that some characters, Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse in particular, had to have equal screen time.
Also the creators of looney tunes used to work for Disney
@@saraross8396 I need to rewatch this and the original Space Jam.
I love your channel so much, Ems! I'm so excited when a new video coems out, especially the ones with babies. Thank you for being here
wait. did I see Donald duck? he's Disney!
Thank you. I didn't want to be the 1st to notice, but yes. Donald is in fact Disney, not Warner Brothers.
Also Jessica and Rodger Rabbit are also technically Disney. As a Disney fan this whole video kinda hurt.
*Finally!* Roger is a dad!
He's one of my favorite snakes because I have a character of the same name, and his family's whole motif are SNAKES... in alternate universes, when he takes over the family, his snake is the False Water Cobra :3
Also delighted to see your drawings as always! Wasn't expecting Pepe Le Pu, but funny enough that's my cat's name.
*Looking at the Looney Tunes eggs* One of these toons are not like the others....
So I'm not crazy and seeing things! Donald Duck kinda snuck in there it the end 😆
OMG finally l know most of us have been waiting for so long for these guys
Is that enclosure really big enough for her? It looks so small and she's so long. Can she even straighten out? Seems a bit sad compared to all the space the reptiles in the zoo have.
I just wanted to say I've been watching for years and Ive been watching your videos with my son since he was born. Now when he hears ur voices or ur intro he comes running over to my phone to watch with me. Hes 2 but he seems to already love reptiles. We've been thinking about taking a trip to ur facility for his 3rd birthday so he can see ur zoo. Thank you for making these videos and keep up the good work.❤

Yep
Emily and Ed's enthusiasm is so contagious!!
Please don't needlessly experiment on snake eggs. I don't think it'll amount to anything beneficial, and the amount of ink you've used thus far doesn't seem to be hurting them. If you're worried you're using too much ink, which I'm guessing is the thesis behind this experiment, just use less ink. Tradition alone isn't a good enough reason to keep doing something that's potentially harmful.
Wow, you can really see how yellow they are when you put them in the grey perlite. Omg! I can't wait to see the babies!
i love the false water cobras !ive been watching since youve been recording in your house theese videos defientlly helped with my fear of snakes
