great video, I think you covered this topic perfectly! I would say with my experience the squiddy AL especially when it’s anodized with a bright color, is a great public flipper, if you don’t want to only flip plastic

I mainly watch ghosts vids a second time in .25x speed to memorize the tricks

I agree a lot with this, when you talked about blade shape my mind went to the vulp and i have been flipping it about 9 months and a lot of people say it looks real at first glance but they realize afterwords. I think it also depends if live blades are legal too because flipping in cali people are a bit sceptical but if you go to idaho or where they are legal then they are chill and for me they say "What?! it's not real? Bummer man." But very helpful vid too!

honestly this makes me double take. I've never really been one to shy away from flipping my Mako v3 in front of people, I work in a store and while I'm on lunch or on breaks I flip the knife as I walk to and from the break room and while I'm walking around the store. Most people just don't even look at it, and those who do seem impressed or dismissive. Maybe the environment I'm in means that the people around me have seen how trendy butterfly trainers are and so they assume it's a trainer, or they can tell quickly enough that I wouldn't be doing it so confidently if I thought it was dangerous. It helps that I have a friendly expression and seem very confident in front of them.
In general, I'll be within 2 feet of a passerby and still keep going as I walk. I just choose to do tricks that I'm consistent with and know I won't drop the knife doing, and avoid things where the knife leaves my hand at any point. basic opens, fanning, y2ks, etc. things that are so simple I'm not gonna drop the thing and have it hit someone or have someone pick it up.
So I'm kinda on the opposite side here, where I think if someone feels threatened by my fidgeting, then that's their problem, and I'm gonna keep doin it. If things escalate, of course I'll show that it isn't real, and I"ll put it away. But I 100% agree with everything you said when it comes to live blades. if it's a weapon, the only time it should be out is when you intend to use it.

Probably the best guide for aerials is timing.
